PlayStation Network Thread | September 2016

So, I don't know if anyone is interested in this, but I stumbled across this and thought it was worth sharing (and this appears to be the Vita discussion thread these days).

https://madewith.unity.com/

Games with a Vita tag on Made with Unity (yes I know, Unity has problems with Vita, yada yada).

Anyway, what interested me was that there's a number of games on here we didn't know about. Generally they can be divided into "released" and "not yet released".

- Released and already on Vita: Futuridium EP Deluxe; Hitman Go; Jungle Rumble; Laser Disco Defenders; Level 22; Poltergeist; Race the Sun; Rally Copters; Rollers of the Realm; Shutshimi; Stick it to the Man; The Swindle; Teslagrad.

- Released and still planned for Vita: Forgotten Memories; Hue; Pavilion; Read Only Memories.

- Released and have formally cancelled Vita plans: Moon Hunters; Super Night Riders.

- Released and have not announced any Vita plans: Hyper Gods; Maliya; Particle Bullets; Skyhill; Super Arc Light; Tidal Affair

Then we get onto the still in development stuff:

- In development and have announced Vita plans: Dex; Drift Stage; Elroy & The Aliens; Forma 8; Myriad; Rays the Dead; The Nightmare from Beyond; To Leave.

- In development but have cancelled Vita plans: Four Sided Fantasy

- In development and have not announced any Vita plans: 22block-kush-avenger; A Cat's Manor; Almighty Dragon; Blue Collar Astronaut; Chrysalis; Clique; Creepy Road; Ilios; Jumping the Gunn; Preta. Suki & The Shadow Claw; Super Cane Magic Zero.

I have got a point I'm going to make with this, but I'm in work so I'll finish the post when I get home :p

Anyway, the point(s) I was making with this post:

1. There's actually a fair amount of Unity stuff that's released for Vita, most of it that runs okay too. Sure you hear horror stories of Setsuna and stuff, but it doesn't seem too bad for indies.

2. It makes me wonder if all the games that've tagged Vita on that page but haven't officially announced it are really gonna release there. Some are obvious no-goes (i.e. Chrysalis has tagged every platform under the sun), but others that have maybe picked 1-2 platforms may actually have plans.

Can someone sell me on digimon?

So I was able to get my hands on a PS3 FAT model, and boy is this thing chunky. Anyways, what I wanted to ask was are there any PS2 games that are must-plays? Don't mention games like Persona 4 and Odin Sphere that got ports to PS3/PS4/Vita, although mentioning PS2 Classics that are only available digitally is fine.

You're asking for must play ps2 games? That list is long....

Culdcept is the first I thought of.
Skies of Arcadia and DQVIII are two wonderful jrpgs.
There are many, many others.

Radiata Stories.

Thanks, will add it to the list.

I'm hoping to cut the list down by sticking to true exclusives (for example, I'd rather play DQ8 on 3DS) and only getting the absolute best, but yeah, I imagine the list would still be long. Still debating whether I actually SHOULD pick up a few PS2 games as I already have a sizeable backlog.

I have a few reasons why I would recommend the game to people :).
-Its not a typo and its a release for the Vita with little PR mess
-The game is a quality role playing game despite being too easy at points
-Visuals look great on the Vita
-Nice seeing iconic Digimon from the series past return
-Adult Character designs but having the 'spirit' of the anime series
-RPG Mechanics deep enough to make combat interesting
-Lots of Digimon to collect

So I need something to tide me over until Mafia III. I'm thinking of picking up Jotun and Stardust Galaxy Warriors. Anyone play those?

I'm currently in process of writing a review of the Steam release of that one. Its a very solid shoot em' up and I enjoyed what I played of it :).

Getting a 'missed charges' error trying to buy the Atelier bundle on PSN. What the actual fuck is this, and how do I get around it?

EDIT: The solution was to use a different card, apparently. Got the bundle.

Cyber Sleuth is a surprisingly enjoyable offering that was far better than it had any right to be, a new entry in a series whose success, both critical and commercial, had fallen off a cliff in recent years that was brought ashore thanks a mixture of Persona-like combat (but more fleshed out), a fascinating approach to a JRPG's levelling system and one of the better New Game+ modes to come out of the genre in years. For $16 on Vita, it's a steal, especially given the amount of content there is to dive into.

EDIT: I forgot Darkest Dungeon is coming out next week-ish. Does anyone know the price? I ask since I can't find one, though i'd imagine it would match the Steam version at $25, $30 CAD.

I think I already know the answer to this, but I was checking the USA web store and it seemed none of the Sims 2 games for PSP were there anymore.

I don't suppose anyone can check whether they're still up in the Vita store please?

Contact support. They should be able to tell you why you were banned.

I'm considering getting Hollow Fragment in the flash sale. I know it was getting some great reviews before and immediately after it came west, but now I'm hearing that the consensus is that it was mediocre. Where the early reviews just too-hyped up, or am I hearing wrong now?

How did you pay for the games? Was it an unusually large purchase for you? It's possible that your bank/Paypal/credit card did a chargeback thinking it was fraud.

Have you by any chance used Henkaku? That 3.60 homebrew thing?

all i did is

add $150 to wallet from my debit card
Then add $25
Then $5

But The last 5 that i added was a bit too soon i guess and it gave me an error. but i tried after 10 min and it was ok.

They still got my money... no charge back

I sent them an email because thats what i could only find after 20 min searching.
Im upset lol. I was planing on spending the weekend playing games, and i know this is gonna take more than 2 days to sort out. I have no other time to play other than the weekend. Good job Sony. Fucking A

The two don't have to be related. I get errors from time to time when trying to purchase games but the worst than can happen is that Sony locks you out from purchasing for a few days. You could've gotten banned for another reason.

Hollow Fragment isn't perfect (story issues and the localization is spotty) but I really enjoyed Hollow Fragment. Its core gameplay is more or less a hyrbid of Phantasy Star Online and Xenoblade; blending open worlds with MMO-esc combat systems. What makes it so fun is that you have a lot of depth regarding options in combat.

The amount of content here is massive too; with over 60 hours of game time alone in the Hollow Area (new Vita content) and 40+ hours in the Alcard (PSP Content; Hollow Fragment is an expanded remake/remaster of a PSP SAO game 'Infinity Moment').

It has problems but its a very solid role playing game tha was so popular that it got an expanded port to the PS4 and its the basis of the upcoming Hollow Realization (releasing this Fall on Vita & PS4).

Thanks, guys. <3

It means a lot that people enjoy the things I put my time into.

As someone who produces a lot of content myself, people telling you that the work you put time and effort into is good stuff is such a nice felling :).

Your video's are well editing, they have a nice structure and they are very informative.

My Twitter Poll for Retrospectives has been a success and Persona won!

Expect two articles covering the series (one on Persona 1 & the two P2 games and another on Persona 3) releasing sometime this week :).
