So can anyone confirm at what time we can play this today passing by NZ vpn?

Can't wait. Also CDkeys dot com didn't distribute yet! Hurry up!

What time is it?
I learned a long time ago to only do what I want in open world games and turn off my impulse to do absolutely everything - it made my experiences far more enjoyable

I wish I could do that. As open world development has evolved, most developers like to mark every point of interest on the game's map. Not only does this kill any sense of exploration, it also triggers my OCD. Horizon 3 is going to kill me.

There are some impressions from a reddit user on the previous page who put in 6hrs, plus some GAF impressions.

Thanks, I missed that one.
I was all set on getting this tomorrow but I think I'll wait for more people to finish the game and post their impressions or reviews.

It's a shame this didn't come out last month when there wasn't a ton of stuff coming out. The next few weeks are pretty crowded for big action games.

I'm the same. I have to do every side mission before proceeding with the main story.

Just received this courtesy of thegamecollection. I'll post impressions in a few hours.

This dude on Reddit expressed the same concerns, but then he unlocked other side missions/activities:

I don't want to be too spoilery, but one you deliver marijuana, one you deliver moonshine and one you steal semi trucks full of contraband. How you acquire these items and for who I won't say ;) There are still more side missions I haven't unlocked yet.

JaseC

gave away the keys to the kingdom.

Because Valve added "In less than an hour" after "In approximately one hour" instead of replacing the latter, the countdown timer on the store page is actually an hour off. I've been meaning to make a support ticket about it as "In approximately one hour" changing to "In less than an hour" makes absolutely zero sense and is clearly a mistake.

Edit: It seems the reported time remaining is no longer the result of JS code injected into the store page, so perhaps Valve also fixed the above issue.

When can we expect reviews from most major gaming outlets?

If they don't want fuck it up they do review-in-progress snapshot on Friday and full reviews early to mid next week. If you get full reviews with scores tomorrow then you know it's rush job at its finest.

Not every outlet has to wait for a review copy if they don't want huh? They can just go grab an early copy and pay for it.

Trying to get a refund from cdkeys, the game looked good on videos but reading impressions of how repetitive it gets have put me off, shame

All open world game suffer from repetitive stuff in them, I am still looking forward to playing this tomorrow. As long as the story stuff is good then I don't mind doing stuff in between.

I switched off all the PoI's in Witcher 3,which made it tons betters as most of the side quests were pretty good, It suffered worse in Blood & Wine, It just a way to pad games out I suppose.

Trouble is this repetitive stuff seems linked with main story gameplay which bothers me to be honest as I tend to stay away from a number of free roam games because of this.

Personal preference I gues.

Hahaha, this is me......I did nearly every damn ? In the witcher 3 before moving on. Got so burned out doing it. Took an insane amount of will to not do them come skellige. But once I just played the game for what it is.......damn did it feel so good.

Also yes, horizon 3 is going to literally kill you bender.

Unlock on Steam has changed to "approximately 11 hours" for me (so presumably midnight GMT) - it was originally set for 5pm Friday, so this is much better.

Ok I am about two hours in. Some things I have picked up on. Overall I am enjoying but a few nitpicks.

A lot of the backstory is told in vignette form like clips from a documentary mixed in with game play. A novel approach but one which may not be for everybody.

Screen is quite cluttered, with HUD, speedometer, objectives and mini map.

On screen prompts for basic actions which are both annoying and hard to spot in some dark scenes.

Tons of canned dialogue from enemies in combat. Including them announcing when they are reloading, out of ammo, throwing a molotov, feels a bit out if place for the time period. One enemy yelled out "It's shotgun time!" as he charged out of a hiding spot.

Oh great a one button counter for melee like the Arkham games, I personally hate this dumbing down of melee combat which is a trend these days.

Switched to simulation driving immediately. Feels weighty, and cars take a while to get up to speed and accelerate in general. Flinging cars around corners feels great imo, reminds me of classic chase movie drifts from Driver 1. Haven't tested enough classes to do a full comparison.

Hey Net, where did you find this option? I was prompted by the game but went to change the setting and can't find it. I must be blind.

Witcher 3 was torture. Not only did I do everything but I pack-muled every piece of dropped loot back to vendors to sell it. I ran into some bug in the game that reset my gold to zero ($78K iirc). Did that break my habits going forward in the game? Nope. :(

I pre ordered from shopto and they normally send them out a day early...not this time. :(

Mine was shipped yesterday and didn't arrive today. Where as people from simply games and game collection got theres. Won't be using Shopto for a while. The above two have overtaken them in terms of price and getting the game early to you.

Tried to pre order this on PS4 today, but kept getting a message saying my CC wasn't valid. So I said fuck it, pre ordered it on XBL with no problems. I guess Sony didn't want my money.

The team has been hard at work ensuring that Mafia III’s performance is consistent across all platforms(...)

Get fucked, Hangar 13. Get proper fucked. Locking a PC game to 30fps in 2016 is absolutely unacceptable. What a load of incompetent trash.

I was looking forward to playing this this weekend, but not anymore. So absolutely pathetic.

nobody, except a few forum dwellers, gives a fuck about fps, so doubt it

What a stupid thing to say, go check the Steam reviews for this game and tell us again how only a few forum dwellers care about frame rate.

Just finished GB's stream and man what a start this game has. Great voice acting and story from what I've seen. The dialect and accents are believable as people here.

Just curious on whether or not there are any major spoilers?

If you plan on playing this is it better to stay away from the GiantBomb stream?

...uhhh ohhhh...

My fear about the repetitive man line missions is becoming greater and greater here as I play. Purple? Do the Grind....Green? Do the same grind to bring that boss out....Yellow? More Grinding, in the exact same way....Orange mission? Guess...what? Some more grind.

I hope the main story missions can make up for this trend thats starting to pop up here, but perhaps this had a bit to do with the lack of review copies.

**Update**
I hate preview builds that only show off the best of the game up front that makes me regret my positive outlook.
Revising the scores I think it will achieve, now i'm personally hovering around the 5-7 range, where I think the lowest scores will be 4 to 5's.

Oh man... that doesn't sound too good.

How far are you into the story missions?

Dang. I was hoping they wouldn't lock away story missions behind any sort of grinding. Is it fun at least or tolerable like Mad Max grinding?
