Now read further. Only few more sentences to go.
And the video never implies it's a launch game.

Edit: even better, let me make this easier for you:

So it could come at some point in the future, ok. That's what I said. And I do find it deceitful to put a game in a video, that's announcing a new console, that it has not been confirmed, but hey.

To be fair ZombiU was in a pre e3 wiiu trailer and neither nintendo or ubisoft would confirm it as a real game until later.

I don't think they would've shown it if it wasn't very, very likely to exist. I reckon well get 100% confirmation of 3rd party games in the coming weeks.

I'm telling ya'll: Dark Souls 1-3 is announced, I'm gonna get the system. If I can have DS games and Zelda games on the same console then I'm in.

The astonishing thing is that it probably is getting a Switch release, but Nintendo didn't draw up a contract with Bethesda to make them commit to it and agree announcement language in exchange for using footage of it in the announcement.

None of the games in the video, except for Zelda, have been yet confirmed. Because there is a timeline for announcements. This video wasn't about announcing games (proof being that you haven't seen any release date for any game in the video) but for making a first introduction for the hardware. More info will come. This was stated even by Nintendo immediately after the video.

...hate me...
This thread is a good litmus test for stupidity. Posts saying that Bethesda is dropping support from the Switch based on a post where they... confirm support, is one of the dumbest things i've ever read.

Any other platform and people would be saying "Bethesda come on, don't beat around the bush, we already know it's coming bla bla bla". Ugh.

PR speak for "please buy the ps4/xb1 ports, then we'll talk about the switch port."

Oh boy! More fuckery ala the Wii U ME3 port launching alongside the Trilogy on every other system! Woo!

I can't wait to see which game pulls an Injustice and waits until the other consoles have all the DLC before releasing it for the Switch.

I don't know what's more ridiculous: the fact that they expect people to believe this, or the fact that so many people in the thread actually believe it. Comparing it to the BF3 thing is stupid too, since that happened well over a year before launch.

Not only they confirm there will be announcement for Skyrim later, but they confirm that for more games. But it's not edgy enough.

Jesus, some of you guys need to calm the fuck down. Why would they even show the fucking game during the REVEAL trailer if they didn't have some plan to bring it to the platform eventually? Some of you must get off on doomsaying I swear.

I did find it a bit strange that it didn't say "Skyrim" in the legal BS at the end of the video, but it did say NBA.

But I can't imagine it's not coming, it was in the video, Nintendo's fucking reveal video... it will be a game on the Switch.

And that's what we are all saying here. Skyrim is not confirmed.

Wow, it begins.

What's beginning, exactly? I swear, some people will take anything they can have when it comes to Nintendo.

This is clear PR talk. Or do you honestly think that Nintendo would include like 20 or 30 seconds of footage of a game that has not been confirmed for the platform, even if it's not publicly?

Then why fucking agree to show Skyrim in the debut trailer of a new system if you were worried about losing sales on Skyrim remastered on current systems?!!

I mean they knew they would have to make an outrageous politician like statement if they did show it on yet another console.

Generally speaking, Skyrim was the strangest part of the Switch reveal video.

I'm all for more third party ports but getting Skyrim, of all things, just seems like a continuation of their (failed) third party approach on Wii U. Remember Deus Ex: Director's Cut, Batman Armored Edition, and ME3: Special Edition?

(I own all three for some reason.)

Skyrim is different from those games in that it's still moving units (like GTA5 lite) and has a no announced next gen sequel to make it look old before release.

Ahahaha...oh you guys! :D

We can be 101% certain that publisher are not allowed to talk about any Switch game but it's okay. Just relax and think that the publisher cancel the games 10 minutes after the reveal.

You guys are really getting worked up over a 5 year old game...?

While Nintendo seems to have 3rd party support, I cannot recommend going in on a Nintendo platform expecting anything but Nintendo games.

Don't even know why they showed Skyrim in the reveal video. It's not the type of game I'd be jumping onto a Nintendo console to play.

Messaging, Skyrim is a signal that Nintendo is trying to get "core" games to their new system that people might want to buy.

Yeah but couldn't they have chosen a better game to make that point? Skyrim is some busted arse nonsense that only flourishes with a modding community. Like couldn't they get another third-party developer? Or hell, show Doom. That actually seems like a game people might realistically play on the thing.

And it seems to have worked I showed the teaser to a friend of mine who really does not like Nintendo and is a hardcore Sony fan.

His reaction at seeing Skyrim?

"Is that Skyrim? Holy Crap! You know Nintendo's finally making a good system now or they wouldn't have been able to get their support"

They probably had multiple reasons for doing this.

Dude, it's Skyrim. The general public eats it up. It's one of the biggest games of the decade.

Also, of course Skyrim is actually coming out for Switch.

As much as I think the game sucks, Skyrim was a critical and commercial hit that went onto become Bethesda's biggest game ever. Its visibility is not in question.

when keeping to PR timing announcements go terribly wrong. this is fairly standard these days, for other games

"yo, i saw the new character in the achievements. when it release?"

"we have nothing to talk about at this time, and we'd love to talk about new characters, but we''ll elaborate if we ever have those plans.."

"the achievement literally says it's a new character and what they do"

"lalalalalalalala can't hear you"

Nintendo haters

"Hahahahaha!!! This is the Wii U all over again, developpers are already pulling out!!"

This is the FIRST day since the Switch is made public. We're in for a ride gents. :lol

I wasn't questioning the success of the game. More that I can't even trust Bethesda to optimize their games on the PC, the platform their RPGs like Skyrim are best suited for (thanks to a modding community fixing their screwups). Why would I think they're even going to try to put in the appropriate time for the Switch? I just would have been more excited seeing a third party I had actual faith in when it comes to them caring about the platform.

Lol wow if they can't even get a damn skyrim remaster on their console then they'll already be in trouble in regards to third parties.

It's a cool ass console concept tho I hope it takes off.
