Monster Hunter Direct (October 27th)

Hype intensifies! Best possible outcome for me would be an MHXG announcement for 3DS now and a tease for MH5 on Switch.
Also let MHXG make better use of the New 3DS' improved power.

Now deliver, Capcom!
So the best is impossible because you added the Switch thing there.

Fingers crossed for something all new (whether it be MH5 or a new spin off).

If it's MHXG then it will be the first MH game that I skip.

It has to be MHXG, that's been the trend throughout the history of the series, and I assume there is another spinoff announcement, most likely airu mura like game.

I would be really surprised if they announce MH5 and would be extremely disappointed if they stick to the same 15 years old assets...

Hm, 12min is rather short but I guess sufficient for an IP-exclusive direct.
Come on Capcom, anything but MHXG!

Monster Hunter is more Japan centric anyway right? Imagine if it was a Monster Hunter Vita announcment... BELIEVE!

Even if its a port of MH4U... i'll double dip.

If it's MHXG on 3DS then agreed, I'll skip it. If it's MHXG on Switch then that would be a must buy, especially if online features are improved.

I'm still optimistic that they wouldn't dedicate a whole direct just to announce a G version of a spinoff.

For the love of God, what Monster hunter really needs, besides shiny graphics and shit is freaking bigger than 4 person rooms.8,12,16 the bigger the number the better. Online is crippled with only 4 people allowed per room.

Bigger rooms in monster hunter would be earth shattering... I could not even begin to imagine how amazing that would be.

Yep. 16 player rooms would be ideal. The absolute worst part of playing MH is jumping from room to room to room to room looking for a quest you want to join.

Having a GAF room which you can enter and leave as you please without the risk of it filling up; being able to hop between groups without leaving rooms; even just being able to have general "HR7" etc. rooms and then being able to find or post the quests you need without having to play through 10 quests you don't need to do first would be a gamechanger.

It needs to happen!

Going in big! I'm hoping for some DLC announcements, some discussion of Monster Hunter the Real 2017 at Universal Studios, new 3DS game is Generations G or something and then a teaser for 5 at the very end.

I just want the western localization of Monster Hunter Stories. I'll take the 3DS original and Switch port, just to show my support in MH going this direction.

Didn't they scale that back when they stopped charging for online?

Capcom have never charged for playing MH online in the West and we had the bigger rooms in the original game.

I'm pretty sure the excuse we got for the lobbies scaling back was due to the voice chat being added in Tri.

That was only for the non-Japanese versions. Japanese Tri still had 8-player rooms.

Interesting.

Shame they haven't made a return though. It was much easier getting groups together in an 8 player town. I remember we used to split into 2 groups, pick the same quest and then have a race to see who could finish it first. Happy days.

Nah, even with 4 its too crowded sometimes. Duo or trio is all that's needed

Same here man.
I think it definitely I'll get localised. It's a big budget 3DS game after all and Monster Hunter is at an all time hype in the West. I think they're waiting for the Pokemon Sun and Moon storm to pass first though. They obviously wouldn't want it over shadowing Stories.

It's weird though, I've always thought Stories would have been the one to succeed from the Yokai Watch marketing push. It was obvious YW was never gonna be too big in the west, as it's very traditionally japanese and rooted in its culture. If they wanted the next big Monster catching game over here, Stories would have been the better choice. Every kid could relate to having a dragon by their side rather than an ass monster haha.

So misleading...

https://twitter.com/Nintendo/status/791580205332561921

Says there is Nintendo Switch information in the link, which references the no Nintendo Switch information to be made during the direct.

Edit: Bing translation is inaccurate.
