That's sort of what I thought, but the confusing part is the last chunk of the second paragraph.

Why can't my black chocobo benefit from my regular? What is the indicator on my screen to show me this explicitly? And on some boards, I've noticed a transfig spot and a mirage board slot. What's the difference there?

Ok so you're in the menu and you hit Mirage Boards and then pick a Mirage. You go to a screen with one-four mirages displayed inside these cubes that reflect their sizes. All of those boards are active at once. I think you can hit triangle on that cube screen to see the ability list? Anything that shows up on the ability list crosses between transfigs (except form-specific green abilities).

But then if you go to the Mirage Case and transig a Mirage, sometimes you'll have options that aren't on that cubes page. If you transfig to one of those and then check the Mirage Board screen, you'll see a different set of cubes and forms.

Can anyone tell me how much longer I have to go?
Chapter 21 I believe, doing the intervetion story quests to kill the cogna the twins let in. Getting a little bored as I've had all the fights on auto using basic attacks for almost the entire game and I didn't even spend any time leveling. =
There more I don't think you are even at the
false ending

Honestly thinking of stopping myself, really burnt out on chapter 21.

Best spot to grind exp in the post game? I tried the first intervention quest from the list and got destroyed. I'm currently level 50 and dealt about 300 dmg to the boss, barely made a dent before it blew me the hell up.

That's not really post game yet.

Try different interventions, the princesses, whatever the hardest dungeon is currently available.

The last dungeon was good exp but it's no longer accessible after beating the game. Lame.

You'll get it back in the actual post game. Postscript has a confusing name, it's really another chapter l. Just find an intervention you can consistently beat.

I'm level 55 and I chipped away tediously for 20 minutes until it decided to stun and knock down my stacks and attracked and killed everyone before I could do anything. The difficulty curve on this game is garbage. No challenge whatsoever in the main quest, and then after the bad ending the extra stuff is way too hard. I gave up.

I think I found an easy one, I'm going to keep clearing the rest of the quests to see if something even easier comes up. Thanks

I'm so confused as to what people are thinking is hard? None of the bosses are hard, even the final boss is only tough due to inflicting statuses. If you protect against them beforehand it's just as easy. I think I beat all the interventions around 60?

If an enemy has an elemental weakness, use some items if you're struggling for a quick kill.

ZeroX03 has the right idea. I religiously use spellstones and their lesser forms against enemies. For the Pleaid Intervention quests just make sure you set your stacks up to at least be immune/resistant (resist of at least 100) to their element. Even better if you absorb their element most will be a cake walk.

I had the same issue my first fight with
Leviathan
, he flat out destroyed me almost instantly, but mainly because I was rocking a Flame Dragon. Changed my stacks around to be resistant to water and he never stood a chance.

I'm about to enter the final dungeon.
Does anyone remember how long it takes to unlock the
final boss fight in the postcript
? I was wondering if I can finish the game in ~4-5 hours today.

All interventions, catch the unique summons. You could probably do it if you're high enough level.

Oh, I know what has to be done, I was asking how long does it actually take. :)
I'm currently level ~55, did all available Girl's quests (including Omega DLC), but if I understand correctly
some more will open up after the bad end
.

Oh yeah you should be able to do it in a couple of hours then.

If you don't want to have to retry the final boss:
bring dark/confuse/sleep resist on both teams.
That should be the only challenge for you really.

Are you playing the Japanese version?

I'm playing the JP version, and when you set the cutscene voices to English, the voice option for in-game banter automatically switches to off, and you can't change it.
I guess they didn't put the English in-game banter in the JP version for some reason.

Hey I felt overwhelmed towards the end as well because the serious tone of the story began to feel like a drag. After stopping for the night at Chapter 21 I came back the next evening and powered through every intervention left and it didn't take that much time. After that it's a straight shot to the final battle. I honesty considered stopping too but it wasn't so bad in the end.

Chapter 19
Crystal Tower
is a bore. I'm finally at the end of it but have to do the
mirage elemental fights.

I've been consistent with my main party which is Fenrir and Black Nakk for Reynn and Behemoth and Tama for Lann. Every fight has been pretty easy with them.

How? I fought a lot,
I have Ramuh's granddaughter, I fought Shiva and Ifrit
in "pretty in pink" but they didn't gave me anything, do I have to pick some match in particular for them to appear?

I dunno what the trigger is but they're Level 55 battles. I did it right before walking through the open the Gate in the Crystal Tower but I dunno when they actually showed up on the list, I'd mostly ignored Colliseum until then.

The early parts of the game for me weren't tough they just required me to pay attention more

After I did the princess goblin intervention and tried to get Zapt and Fritt at "that area" and gain boat loads of EXP. I think I am over leveled.

My only problem is building stacks that are good to average and dealing with messing with my stack builds with Transfigurations.

I experimented with some and man did I mess with my defense and damage output on a few

OK, I think I get it.

So as long as I can see the other mirages when I select Mirage Board, any passive stat increase nodes or skill nodes (that aren't green) will be available to each transfiguration. What are the various Mirage Board nodes for? Like on the Zapt (M) board, there are transfigure nodes and at least one Mirage Board node. Not sure what that is?

E: Also got my Marlboro up and running last night. Is Bad Breath as OP as it is in other games, or is it kind of a bummer? Also is Cactuar any good? I've been leveling the base form Cactott or whatever, and he just seems bad. Like, super week and ineffective.

For those spending a lot of time trying to catch a Bablizz in early game, don't bother lol. You can easily get one
in murkrifts towards the end of the game

Any tips on those super
summon fights
in the postscript? I got
Odin
halfway but he uses a super move that wipes the party.
Diablos
you have to fight twice. Only two I tried so far, but jesus.

I'm still in the last chapter, but Gravity makes decent damage. You can even beat Shantotto with this in a couple of minutes.

Can just beat him with thunder consumables if you wanted. Just stock up on the moderate lightning damage ones and go to town. All of them have elemental weaknesses.

Beat postscript, still gotta catch about 65 more mirages to have em all. Really disappointed they included multiple characters from some FFs and ignored 12/14/Tactics entirely. I guess they plan on more DLC, or WoFF-2 eventually if it did well enough.

Can't even have all the FF characters and the only DLC I've heard about is ... Sora -_-*

Played through with JP audio & NA subs. There are a LOT of places where they are clearly not saying what the subs say.

Are there any Mirage recommendations for mid/late game or should I just go with whatever I like?

Using both Jiant twins atm. Reynn with Babyhemoth + Black chocochick and Lann with Affrite + Tama. Chapter 10 right now.

Also, should the graphics be that choppy?

Beat the game yesterday, around 35 hours on the clock (game was running for a few hours though).
I liked it, but I really wish that if there's ever a sequel, they focus more on the Final Fantasy characters. Didn't really get the "catch them all" feeling, so I was rolling with my starting team for most of the game and switched a few mirages near the end.

Because of the tediousness of some dungeons, together with the small variety of enemies in each of them, I got really burned out on it near the end, so I'm not going to touch
three post game dungeons
.
It's interesting, that while the game had some good ideas, some parts of its design felt archaic even by JRPG standards. But maybe that's just because the last big JRPG I played was Persona 5, who knows.

I legit don't understand why they made the mini games in the story parts so fucking hard/unfun and then when you play them in your room they're like 10 times easier

Just beat the game....or chapter 21 atleast and I'm now on the post game...
thank god there is a true ending cause that shit was too sad... however I have no idea what to do now. The bar at the top says to get more mirages and get stronger but I'm level 62 already and Sera told me to meet her on the airship for gossip when I'm read but when I go there she isn't there...

I erased them from my memory, but I 100% agree. Those were the worst minigames I've played in years.

I thought they were stupid but did people actually find them hard? I finished them all on my first try, the only one I had a close call with was the stupid desert thing where you had 3 people to move around to his invisible enemies.. got lucky and won with 1 hot remaining.

If you added her to one of your stacks she won't show up on the airship, thats what happened to me too.

Honestly can some please answer this question for me because depending on the answer I don't know if I want to keep going.

How much is the game left? I'm at the part where I got to recruit the espers (Odin and such). Do I have to fight the Plumed Knight and Golden Masked Knight again?

Only things left to do are:
-
Recruit the 7 summons - 4 in the Girl's room, 3 in the coliseum (you have to catch these 3)
-
Do Serafi's quest to revive Tama
. I think it unlocks
when you get Ifrit, Shiva, and Ramuh in the coliseum
-
Finish all Girl's quests if you want access to the 3 true postgame dungeons
-
Talk to Serafi to defeat the final boss

I'd say an hour or less left if you are strong enough and want to rush to the ending.

As for your question -
yeah, the final confrontation is multi part
.

Man, the end of this game kind of shits the bed a bit
*Another* fucking big bridge FF13 dungeon, really? This chain dungeon is a joke, especially after "Uhhh yeah we only finished the cutscenes and battles so I dunno throw some minigames in there" for the last plot points

I want real dungeons.

Do you not always get the rewards in the intervene missions?

I did the 2nd one last night and didn't get a single thing. So I just quit and loaded my game back up. Not wasting 2 coins when you get nothing in return.

You have to "turn in" the quest, either from the quest giver or through the adventure log

Sorry I was talking about the Girl with No name missions. Or is that the same thing here as well?
Yep it's the same thing. Her missions are treated the same way. If you go back into the interventions menu after completing the mission, there should be a star next to the one you did, selecting the mission again claims your rewards
