This feels like a nightmare... I enlisted and swore to protect my country. I never imagined as Americans we would turn against each other. Not like this. My Airmen are stressed out; in pain. One is terrified of losing her marriage to her wife.

Guys, it's not like it was a fucking secret that Trump was a terrible candidate. He wasn't subtle like GOP candidates in the past, he was pretty brazen with it and over 50 million people saw it and voted for him anyways. They are racists. Simple as that.
What do you call someone who willingly votes for a man who got into a PR battle with a family of a dead Muslim soldier because he was Muslim? What do you call someone who heard Trump say "They're [Mexicans] rapists and murderers" and was like "That's okay, I'm gonna vote for him anyways."

It's like you guys seem to think that if you vote for a guy who holds views that are directly at odds with the mere existence of certain groups of people, we have to respect your views and chalk it up to a difference of opinion. Believe me, as a Black american I understand your fear on a personal level, but we can't give in to fear. The demographics are slowly but constantly shifting and I'm pretty sure kids in middle school right now are part of a minority-majority generation. The will have more strength in numbers and unity than we ever had. We just have to be steadier than those who would abhor us.

Been looking up vasectomies stuff today. My gf started sobbing when she read that a friend is considered getting their tubes tied on the chance that if she might get raped she doesn't want to risk being forced to deliver. Hillary lost the election because democrats/progressive minded people didn't go out in vote. I don't know why people keep suggesting that the election was lost because people were mean to racists.
Trump received the fewest Republican votes of any candidate since Bush's 2000 election. Even most of the flipped states weren't major voter changes on the Republican side. His win in Michigan was only 150k votes up from Romney's 9.5 point loss in 2012. Pennsylvania was up 230k votes over Romney. Trumps Wisconsin win came from less than 2k more votes than Romney received. If Democrats saw the same numbers they got in 2012 in those states, Hillary would have taken all 3.
People need to vote. Not bother with coddling bigotry.

I have plenty of economic views that would skew center right. I would love President Bloomberg. President Romney was not preferred for me over Obama but I'd have been content.
