Not an expert here but... 1080p with unlocked framerate also grants that extra IQ from downsampling or not?

During the latest Active Time Report broadcast, Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata provided more information on the performance of the game on PS4 Pro.
The game will launch with 4K and HDR support on PS4 Pro, but Tabata-san expects it to need further tuning. We learn that the current build runs between 40 and 50 FPS in 1080p most of the time on Sonys new and upgraded console, but the team plans to update the game for improved performance in December.
The developer is aiming to have two modes: one will run at 1080p, and will target 60 frames per second. The second will target 4K (upscaled) resolution and 30 FPS.
Final Fantasy XV will release on November 29th, just 19 short days away. And I can feel it in my bones already.

Confused. Will the 1080p unlocked framerate mode be up at launch and the updated in December or are they releasing a patch with 1080p/60 in December?

Other good thing this could hint at... KH0.2 could offer 1080p/60fps?
KH3 even?

I'd rather have 4K 30fps or at least 1800.
Don't know why 60fps matters in a game like this. It's not a twitch shooter.
Framerate upgrade for 1080p is the patch in December. They currently have the game running between 40-50fps but thinks they can improve it even further by December.
SO you guys are saying that the only Pro version I can play on my 1080p TV at launch is the 4k/30 downsampled? Or will there be an unlocked 1080p version with a less stable framerate at launch and improved performance in December?1080 p 60 fps patch update in dec.
4k hdr/30fps at launch... you'll also get supersampling on your 1080p tv at launch.

Fuck. Now I'm considering a Pro...but does one game really justify it? I'm getting this game day one anyway.
So, the "All games after pro launch are required to have a pro-mode" was just a rumor? (as In, developers are encouraged to support but not made to?)

Pro Purchase justified.

What's Sony going to do? Slap Square Enix on the wrist and not release FFXV on PS4 until it has a finalized Pro mode?
But it will have a Pro mode on launch, that's 4K / HDR / 30fps.
It will have an additional Pro mode later.
I may not have explained myself properly, sorry.
Right, what I meant is, even with a hypothesis that FFXV doesn't launch with a Pro mode (which isn't correct, as it does have a Pro mode on launch) there are two scenarios:
Either:
- That bullet point was false
Or:
- That bullet point was true, but FFXV releases after Nov 10th without a Pro mode, but it will be done later.
I can't see Sony failing cert on something like FFXV to enforce a policy. I'm inclined to believe that promised support would have been enough in that hypothetical case.
edit: clarified so I don't get misquoted!
So what's the non pro running 720p?

Well guess im going to go snag a PS4 Pro now.
