If i have PS4 (which i don't), maybe i bought this game. Bummed that first game was not ported to PS3 when there was opportunity.

Just watched Giantbomb's QL for this... they're kinda bummed out. :/

Don't worry Kat Raven, I got you.

Sadly, as much as I still love to listen to the bombcast just for the personalities and their takes on things, I find myself very far apart in attitude towards games etc these days from the regulars. The whole conversation this week between Will & Jeff about Mario is a perfect example. I still find them fun to listen to though. I get a bit more mileage in actual opinions form the beastcast these days I think, in terms of actual recommendations etc if they like something, there's a good chance I will too (miss Austin a lot though)

Okay I've played the demo... have to admit it's very cool. I've played the first game but the side quests were so bad (boring). I really hope they improved it this time.
I only have money for one new game this month and it's probably GR 2. Supporting 'small' games is important so I won't wait for a sale.
Also, the social aspect (taking pictures, sharing them online, treasure hunt) of the game looks really cool and fun.

I am super psyched for Gravity Rush 2 so of course i'm picking it up. Kat is super fun to play as and the game itself is simply fun to play even without the extras on top.

In pretty much every way that has to do with making an actual competent videogame excecution wise beyond just having a cool base concept.

But i seems to be getting good reviews so I dunno.

He is basically at the very beginning of the game. Most reviews are from folks who have beaten it. He doesn't even have any of the new forms unlocked. Not surprised he isn't having a lot of fun with the tutorial. Also man is he bad at actually using the combat system. Those troops could have just been kicked with the melee button faster.

Well yea, because there's more to the game than just 30 minutes of gameplay footage lol

I owned the first game on Vita and liked it.

Played the demo for 2 and... eh? I'll probably pick it up when it's sub 30... I maybe buy two games a year at full retail though.

What didn't you like about the demo?

Let's not go down this road. They're just giving their honest impressions.

Also he said he was like five hours in.
I'll take the bulk of reviews over GiantBomb. Or anyone for that matter.

I need a price drop. Just got myself the Remastered version for 15 €. I enjoyed it but not that much to pay 60 € for the sequel. Maybe for 30.

I had also just came off the Nier Automata demo, which is fantastic, so maybe I unfairly compared it.

I did the same. Got both demos at the same time. Nier looks like more content and replay value for that price.

Controls seem less intuitive than on the Vita. Specifically with combat while gravity shifting. I didn't think the demo was very engaging, it mostly sent you on a fetch quest with zero change to the story.

I don't even think they have a review for the game. Or at least not yet, can't seem to find it. A quick look is fine and all, it achieved its purpose, but yea, doesn't compare to all the reviews that actually finished the game, regardless of whether they're glowing or mixed. So for me personally, it's not worth getting worked up over.

I mean it's a demo though... One course for the newbies that never played it and want to go over the basics, and then the Experienced course for those who want to try out the new modes, tag-team with Raven, etc. Doesn't have to be some big thing... The primary purpose is to give you a feel of the game, not spoil it for you. Which btw, I still don't get why people are comparing the two. I mean okay, I get it, they both came out on the same day, but they're doing completely different things here.

Hyperbole response?

I can see some people having a hard time wrangling the controls because the camera does get wonky when you're dashing about fighting multiple targets, and if someone sucks major ass at playing the game and that's your first experience either watching or playing a Gravity Rush game: Then yeah it's going to look horrid.

But to say that the game is lacking anything that makes a competent video game just based on watching someone who sucks at it play it? The game isn't for everyone but I'd argue they do a great job at making superhero games fun again. The first game was a treat and this one amplifies that with the extra power on console.

By the way guys, for uk folks. I was checking up on my pre-orders and it looks like shopto are offering the white costume as a pre-order bonus too. The listing also mentions a "director's choice soundtrack".

Wasn't it hugely inspired by French and Belgian animation? Like the Bellville Rendezvous, The Illusionist and Tintin.

There's even Western European music floating around the streets.

Yeah, it was an ill-informed post. There's a lot more going on with GR's style than what I gave it credit for.

Was not going to buy this Gravity Rush 2...
Played the demo...
Probably going to buy Gravity Rush Remastered ... And then make a decision on Gravity Rush 2.

I literally just played both demos (Gravity Rush 2 and Nier Automata) last night and came away with the complete opposite reaction.

The gravity concept and Kat's personality and design and the look and feel of the world really sold me on Gravity Rush 2 (or at least Gravity Rush Remastered) ... Where as Nier's force locked camera inamy instances during the demo, tedious boss fight, and questionable enemy robot design left me absolutely "meh" on the experience.

Both were great to me lol

Still undecided on whether to get the digital or physical edition, now that the DLC for the preorder has appeared on Amazon.co.uk (still nothing on Amazon.it but the UK store would work). The difference in price is negligible, and I think I would like to have it "always available" without needing to switch disks.
If only we had some sort of special or limited edition, it would make the choice so much easier.

Digital.
There's never a reason why anyone should have to be subjected to the PS4's jet engine sounding Blu-ray drive being louder than your surround sound system or have to get up off the couch to change games.

Digital isn't the future my friend... It's the present and discs are for Neanderthals and other cave dwellers...

Edit: also, digital is more environmentally friendly since the disc won't end up in a landfill (GameStop) some day... And you still have to download on average 20 GB of patches and updates per game these days... Not to mention digital doesn't take up any room in the house and your wife won't nag you that your videogame collection needs to go because the office needs to be changed into a nursery...

Well, in general I always consider the possibility of me selling or lending the games I buy, so I always stick with physical. Not to mention it's just cheaper in general. Only ever really go digital when there's a big sale that beats the physical price, because at the end of the day, saving money is most important to me lol

Wow this game sure looks like a hot mess in that Giant Bomb Quick Look, holy shit.

Well the way you control Kat and the view from the camera when she is falling/turning and all looks even more dizzying I guess when you are not the one controlling her...I get dizzy when I play at times lol...

I am playing Gravity Rush Remastered and I thought the controls were pretty crappy at first but then I realized you can fall back to gravity with L1 and it pretty much corrected everything I had a problem with.

I saw the bombcast this week and I was wondering if Jason knew that...He probably does. I haven't watched the quick look.

I think the game is quite fun despite the dumb theme of some of the quests. But I also have less than 5 hours on the first game.

Nah, I've been asking about that too but nothing.

Ah, well that's lame. Oh well, not like I was gonna get it anyways ol

The main thing that really bugged me is that he didn't seem to try the stasis field against the humans, unless they're immune somehow. Seems like the easiest way to take them out, especially in an enclosed space.

Yeah, deactivating her power is useful if you know what you're doing.

Wanted to love the first game, but thought it to be merely good. Still curious about the sequel, but after having played the demo and seeing the reception I know it's not something I'll get at $60. I expect to see it for half the price in a month or so and that will be about right for me.

I'll definitely be getting it but not at launch, I just have far too much stuff left over from the deluge of games in the usually Christmas rush and the crazy PSN sales this year. I do still have a few of the challenges in the first game to complete too.

EDIT:
Horizon: Zero Dawn will probably be the next game that I buy.
Balls!!! Pre-ordered it.

I played the Vita version when it was released and it was pretty clunky. Didn't really enjoy it. Maybe the console version was better?

I've had it preordered for ages, and I can't wait. Kay is stupidly charming and endearing. I watched the two anime episodes on PlayStation YouTube, and o really want a Gravity Rush anime now. Just give me a season of 10 minute episodes and I will be a happy camper.

I try to pimp the series to anyone who will listen. I'm kind of regretting that I didn't livestream my replay of the PS4 version. I'll definitely be livestreaming the sequel.

I mentioned this earlier, but as a "newbie" who never played GR1, the demo did not serve that intended purpose. I was pretty lost in terms of controls and combat, fighting with the camera and constantly overshooting targets and aiming badly. All it did was frustrate me. I don't blame this on the game per se, but the demo did not do a good job of introducing concepts. The tutorials felt like quick hand-waving to me.

Both courses were straightforward imo, told you what the majority of the controls were, barring maybe the gravity slide. Haven't played in nearly a year, but I got the hang of it again just fine despite forgetting everything myself. That being said, I don't expect anyone to just gravity shift perfectly the first one or two times; it takes time to get used to. Which is where it being a demo comes in handy, since you can just replay it as much as you want until you get the hang of it. Hell, you don't even have to replay it, the courses give you leeway to mess around with the controls anyhow.

I'm not really following how it is hand-waving.
