Not the best showing. Really liked some of the games announced.

Zelda trailer was truly stunning.
Mario didn't make me feel the way I thought it would.

I did not come out of the conference confident this would be a system with a steady stream of games beyond early 2018. I came out concerned with the progress third parties are making and whether their promises will be delivered upon.

It felt like they are making some of the same mistakes of the Wii U, but with all new ones like paid online. The $300 price point I can swallow. But not the paid online.

All in all, I'd rate the conference a 6/10. I'm hyped for Mario Odyssey, LOZ, SMTV and that's pretty much it. Think I'll hold off preordering for now.

I was expecting a $60 game and $50 pro controller. Wow.

So at launch to get Zelda and the 1-2-Switch game it would be maybe $300 + 70 + 60 + 40 = 470? And another $100 if you want to add two controllers for 4-player gameplay?

At $50 each I sure don't want to take those things outside or let people wave them around like all the videos show. *edit* Ah, I missed the 2-pack. So $80 and 40, still very pricey.

Lackluster conference. Mario and Zelda look absolutely fantastic but I'm not sure if the Switch is a day one anymore.

Yeah, they have amazing games, just not enough have been shown to make it compelling for launch imo.

Funny thing is that we haven't heard anything about the WiiU ports. Perhaps they didn't want those in the presentation and will tell us about it in the coming weeks? I am rather confused by the show.

Does anyone have access to a possible press site for the Switch? Maybe there's more info there. I was sure I saw clips for Sonic, Fzero, and DBZ.

So...

$300 price.

$70 pro controller.

Paid online by fall.

Motion control shit like 1 2 Switch.

Nothing shown but Zelda I care about.

Fuck me. This may be the last vestiges of my Nintendo fandom.

I love people suggesting buying a Wii U to play Zelda as opposed to just buying a Switch. lol. The prices aren't that far enough apart.

That read to me more as "you can do this" and not "you have to do it this way".

it sure is

you can buy a wii u off nintendo for a little over $150

Wii U

$180 for wii u
$60 for game
tax

Switch

$300
$50 for online services
$60 game
tax

...presuming you DON'T already own a Wii U, otherwise its just $60 plus tax.

Okay. I wish there had been a) Dragon Quest XI footage (the stuff in the reels was Heroes right?), b) more on the SMT project, c) more on 3DS style software in general--the presentation was heavy on JRPG, but I'd like to have seen stuff like, say, Ace Attorney too, d) 1 2 Switch and Arms don't have me enthused, but hey, neither did Splatoon and that was a big thing, e) where was Mario Kart or Smash? we saw Kart in reels, f) Mario setting is strange to me, but hat power looks cool--liked the jump, g) OMFG Zelda trailer was amazing--really like the Zelda design too. So glad it is lauch, h) when can I pre-order on Amazon?! i) I really wish Nintendo had showed more first party single player stuff: There was Xenoblade but I'd have rather seen something like Metroid or Fire Emblem.

I think the presentation was slow and ponderous, price was moderately disappointing, and there weren't enough games shown, but the presentation did also show some key 3DS style support, which I've been wanting to see.

Mostly, again, needed more games and launch dates from both Nintendo and third parties.

..but cry so much I wish I had some
300$ is way overpriced for what you get, everyone I know right now that owned a Wii U (like 3 people) are all skipping it until a price drop and bundle.

I'm just hoping this is like a lot of presentations where the best games get announced after it launches. But damn I at least thought I'd see some games from Namco, Capcom, From Software and Sega but we saw nothing. Sega came out and didn't show a game, like wtf?

A lot of weak-ass bitching going on here. Once again astronomical hype has made everyone insanely jaded about new nintendo console, pretty pathetic.

The most annoying thing about the presentation for me was lack of launch line-up info, by far. Heck, not even 1,2 Switch and ARMS look confirmed to be launch games, didn't even see a date. Zelda: BotW seems to be the only concrete launch release and MK8 Deluxe is an April release so far which is a shame as the games getting released further down the line look promising.

-Shin Megami Tensei
-Super Mario Oddysey
-Xenoblade 2
-Splatoon 2
-Dragon Quest 10/11
-Fire Emblem Warriors

We need a press release with all developers involved in the launch line-up and what they're making, there's only 1 and a half months left for crying out loud!

Yep, I may pick me up another cheap Wii U to play Zelda on. Other stuff as well, as I actually adore that system. A huge pass on Switch.

Okay, I have to ask, what makes you pass on the Switch if you love the Wii U? Is it just the price? Cuz as far as I can tell, the Switch is everything the Wii U should have been. It is too pricey though.

Honestly kinda disappointed I guess because I expected Pokemon and Smash at least. But oh well, Mario looked incredible, I just wish there was more info on what's coming. I would love to know what's gonna be out on release cause I'm gonna get Zelda but from what I know for sure it's just 1 2 Switch and Zelda. SMT I'm hoping is out this year, mostly cause 25th anniversary and it was a gorgeous teaser. Same with Fire Emblem and Xenoblade 2. I think this year is a little light but I wouldn't be surprised if they held some things for E3 so they could get some hype themselves in a year where I feel like we know a lot of what Sony and Microsoft are bringing (Scorpio, tlou2, forza 7, maybe halo 6, crackdown 3, sea of thieves, days gone, god of war 4, spiderbro, that weird Kojima game that'll be out in another 4 years) and that's just off the top of my head. I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to get things out that they know will get attention and save some other big end of year surprises to keep momentum going for them despite Sony and MS having some pretty big stuff to show this year for sure anyway.

Presentation was a little reserved, but I like what I saw. Paid online was inevitable, price seems right for what's in the box, different coloured joy-cons is awesome :)

Mario looks awesome. I mean it's a Mario 64 sequel, as far as I'm concerned. Colour me hyped. Holiday is a little later than my prediction (after e3, but Summer).

Splatoon 2 = Yay!

Xenoblade 2 = Yay!

Zelda = OMFGHOLYSHITBBQ😱 Stunning. Cannot wait, and will take that over Mario at launch any day of the week.

My one reservation, and Nintendo please listen: 1-2 Switch (and/or) Arms NEEDS TO BE A PACK IN TITLE. Especially at $299.

Yeah, and what did the PS4 launch with? Knack? Yeah....you guys can survive with Breath of the Wild day one.

Well again while the trailer looks amazing what else is Nintendo offering? Yes we know the PS4 launch with Knack but that was 3 years ago, at the moment the PS4 seem to have a solid line this year. So I honestly can't blame those who want to play the wait and see game.
