PS4 firmware 4.50 add Boost Mode for PS4 Pro.

Did you guys claiming BB never really had performance issues not ever try co-op? Even with just one other person there are some serious performance issues in some areas.

I don't think anybody can say whether or not boost modes helps with a "quick test" unless they know the exact spots with bad performance and/or do some MP.

Well, I think this is enough to push me to trade my OG ps4 in this weekend at gamestop and take advantage of that extra $50 deal currently going on. I started Until Dawn the other weekend and really like it, but the performance is pretty bad, so excited to play a potentially more stable version of it.

Answer is most likely no, but does this mode remove those ugly black gradient smudges on characters in street fighter v.

If I recall the pc version doesn't have this issue.

From my quick tests, Bloodborne isn't improved at all but Yakuza 0 now rarely drops frames at all

Insane For Sony
I did. To me it looks like it is working better. Never played it before tonight, so I'm experiencing it slowly in normal mode and then switching to Beast mode when I spot something potentially bad on the framerate side.
Usually when they zoom up to faces, to show more than one character, or outside when there's snow, framerate would tank. Pay attention to those moments.

Do you know where in the world map the swamp is?
Try Novigrad, that should be easier to find.

I can understand games that came out AFTER the PRO released, and were developed with it in mind, but for games that were simply patched, why not? The description says nothing about games that were patched, only says games that were released prior to PRO.

If a game has been pro patched it has already been unlocked and have access to the extra specs that beast mode provides.

P.s just got me beta code through the mail. Hell yeah.

Oh my god, imagine Dragon Age Inquisition.

Fuck I own all these games on the Xbox platform instead.

I'm looking out for a list of improvements to exclusives I suppose! Someone start a Wiki

Anyone expecting 30fps-->60fps is setting themselves up for disappointment...This will be probably a slightly better improvement than Xbone to Xbone S

Wow, this is really cool. Kinda wish I had signed up for the beta now. :/

You do realize the PS4 pro has more than twice the GPU power and decent CPU clock bump, right? The improvements will likely depend on how CPU-dependent a game is and whether or not any existing performance issues, if any, were related to the CPU or GPU. 30-60 is only really possible in GPU-bound games with unlocked framerate.

EDIT: Anyone try Killzone Shadowfall in unlocked framerate mode?

Nobodies expecting that, but there's plenty here to be excited about judging from the few super early impressions we have.

The Evil Within - Performance is much, much better judging by the first 15-20 mins.

Yakuza 0 - No noticeable slowdown while running around the city like before.

Bloodborne - Much better load times but not noticing much difference otherwise.

Batman: Arkham Knight - Smooth as butter.

The Witcher 3 is still unfortunately downloading, as are a few other titles.

Nothing slight about it, from the reports. This is basically what we hoped from the Scorpio for passive boosts. It seems like almost all games tested are hitting their cap. It's incredible.

I super appreciate the S upgrades, so this is just insanity.

Xbox One S had very minor GPU upclock. Pro has a masive resource boost, potential for big framerate boost is strong for every game. Some will be limited by CPU processing or drawcalls [CPU got ~30% overclock], while others will be limited by GPU processing [2.3x boost over base PS4], or memory bandwith.

Beast mode will be much more noticeable than very mild bump that Xbox One S offers.

The impressions we already have suggest it's a much better improvement than xbone to xbone s. Why wouldn't it be?

Different situations
The Xbox One S is very slightly faster than the original
There's a pretty huge gap between the PS4 and the Pro hardware wise
And nobody's expecting 30 fps capped games to run at 60

Serious question though folks?! Does Life of Black Tiger get any kind of benefits? We gotta know if GOTY 2017 gets a boost in performance!

If any beta testers happen to also play FF14, I'd be curious what the extra CPU and GPU power lends to that game. The cap is 60, but it frequently sits anywhere between 25 and 45, so should be tangible benefit.

Is screen tearing still present in Sleeping Dogs?

Oddworld New and Tasty is a 60fps game.

Sorry, I meant 60 for Oddworld. Screen tearing is still in Sleeping Dogs for me but its very minor, and only when driving, never on foot.

Just had a quick test of 2 others

The Talos Principle is much smoother now also.

Arcania - Now a seemingly solid 30FPS. You lot at GAF have no idea how much this makes me happy! haha! (seriously, its quite underrated!)

Like I said...I'm not going to take the time to do it...But there are a handful of "60fps Bloodborne" posts on the very first page of the thread lol
