I'm really hyped for this game, granted I will play it on my PS3. I just didn't see why I would need a PS4 for that, only to get a 1080p upscale -my tv can handle that fine already thank you.

Gravity Rush 2 also has a fantastic soundtrack. As does Yakuza 0, best in that series too, I think. Danganronpa V3 music also sounds excellent. I'm really looking forward to the new Mass Effect for the music alone. Prey's soundtrack is going to be sublime too (Mick Gordon doing synthwave? Heck yeah).
This is such a great year for game music.

Be honest man, you said you don't know any Japanese so how can you comment on the story in this game which has LOTS of text?? I'm sure 98% of the scenes/dialogue were unintelligible gibberish to you. Even if you read a translation or someone's synopsis on the story it's still not as good as understanding it natively in context as it happens.

Gravity Rush 2 surprised me. Thought it would be low-key in a way compared to other contenders, like it'd be good but not obviously great. I was wrong.

LOL. Damn y'all are ruthless! He's been the most negative about the game, but still gave the game a 9! That actually gives me hope for the Metascore.

Really wish this was coming to the switch... Too bad the vita doesn't get games like this anymore.. This genre is amazing on the go..

This. Even I who have what I'd consider a fairly okay Japanese knowledge at the moment still feel like I would need to revisit it again in English for a 100% comprehension. Someone with zero knowledge of Japanese commenting on the story from their JP playthrough is null imo. No offense meant.

This seems like a weird part of the post to quote.

I have reasons for not liking the story. They are not related to the dialogue (that I did not understand). They are related to the core events that go down. Twists are telegraphed really obviously and the game feels the need to spend thirty minutes going "WOW, I BET YOU NEVER SAW THIS COMING" and the serious personal themes of the early dungeons get pushed aside for high stakes save the world garbage.
I said it's a great game, bro. No need to be insecure about it.

Edit: Nevermind. I'll just say this. Play it again in English. Your comments sound like it missed a ton of context and the "core events that go down" has everything to do with the early parts. It literally makes no sense to say that given the blatant role the characters play in the game.

A long while ago, I accepted that I'd never be able to read every book I wanted to read. I don't know if I have the power to reach that conclusion with games.

And with that, I'm outta here. Been reading to keep up since I'm now off work. But I skipped to the bottom of the page to see how long it went, and then saw your warning. I don't know what it is, but good on you. I've stayed away from media for this game for close to a year now. It's un-bear-able. You saved me. I owe you a beary big bear hug.

And lastly, despite all that, I'm in a p3 crowd. But 4 is a close second. And from earlier readings, I'm super pumped about the OST. Three's is forever burned in my head, it's superb. But yea. No more from me here.
