Man some people here really don't like Colin lol. I did thought he was getting too negative for my tastes in the last few years and that's why I stopped listening to him. A show about politics is way more something I see him in.
Everyone knows there are a lot of racist/sexist alt-right assholes out there in that community, those are the people giving him money.

I am one of his biggest fans on GAF making a whole thread about how he is my favorite gaming journalist. I won't follow this tho because i just don't need to watch a show about politics. Sadly it looks like he is done with games but at least he is doing something he loves

I know you said best case scenario, but that feels at least a little offensive to Hardcore History. The level of research, time and effort that go into those podcasts are something I would doubt to see come out of Colin, but maybe I guess. His Patreon says one to two videos a week though, which would suggest more reactionary and surface level coverage of issues than even Dan's more frequent, less meticulously researched politics show Common Sense, which come out every 2 months or so, but still present a pretty nuanced look at particular issues.
Edit: I know he's a big fan of history, particularly American history, so it would be cool to see something that is more focused in that particular topic, but I honestly think you're setting yourself up for some massive dissapointment expecting anything close to Dan Carlin levels of care. I'm also shocked at how successful this patreon is so far, maybe Dan should consider it ! Colin is almost making as much as all of Kind of Funny !

Is Colin Moriarty educated enough to speak intelligently on either history or politics? I saw that clip where he says he considers Scandinavian countries to be a part of the Eastern Europe bloc and I quickly checked out.
The only fallacy here is expecting that people making these predictions care what you think one way or another. Certainly feel free to do the opposite of the things they say and watch no money roll in from that kind of stupidity.
They were dumb, the alt-right has a big YouTube scene. That's his fanbase now.

I'll give it a watch. I don't mind Colin although I think the joke he made was in bad taste. But I don't see him as anywhere near as bad as JonTron or Milo.
He does have a bachelors in American history but that doesn't mean he's not going to see things through his own lenses. As he does now

Colin's an intelligent and eloquent guy, and I'll definitely check out his first video on this subject matter.
Also, having listened to his podcasts for many, many years I can definitively tell you that he is not sexist or racist in any way, shape or form. Some of his views are certainly right leaning, but that alone does not justify the amount of vitriol Colin has received recently.

LOL, Dan Savage's Hardcore History would probably be A LOT different then Dan Carlin's if it were real. Fixed in my post.
Agreed, and I didn't even look at the scope of his Patreon. Two videos a week for what he is promising, from a one man operation...it seems like he wouldn't be able to get to the level of depth he wants to promise here. I'm not even saying it will be an iota as quality as Hardcore History, but it seems as though the motives surrounding both shows would be similar. I guess we'll see.

OT is a lot less forgiving to the views Colin and those that support him share. It's going to be an uphill battle for anyone that wants to point fingers people that criticize Colin.
Like it is wildly believe that being a toxic person on the internet can easily be a profitable endeavor.
See his tweets mocking Black Lives Matter protesting. Or his tweets endorsing Jeff Sessions for Attorney General.
That is diet racism at it's most obvious.
