I hope people aren't expecting anything drastically different from D1. It'll still to be a loot game at it's core. Thread lightly and bring on september already!!!

Going off what people type "It's the most boring shit game i've ever put 2500 hours into".

I run into something like this with some of the people I've played with from the start. Always bitching, saying they are done cause the game was never good, and acting like they're not interested in new stuff coming out, but they've all got like 1400+ hours in it.

They need to get behind this as soon as humanly possible.

Destiny is screaming for awesome player replayability with a good forge feature, even more so in a Minecraft world where developers such as Bethesda (with Fall out 4) and Rockstar (with GTA5) have jumped the hype train with building mechanics for their respective big IP's.

The time is now Bungie.

If this is announced I will lose my shit. This would be HUGE news.

I'd still buy and play on my PS4 Pro at 30fps.... but after grinding out PvE content, I'd more than likely move to PC for PvP.... until the cheaters ruin everything.

im in the boat where i found the game lacking but the loot mechanic was addictive enough that i poured more hours than i should have into the game.

Bungie always streams during my drive to work. Gah im so excited!

Edit: Do you guys think there will be a ps4 pro bundle? The gf and I have the last 2 white ps4 Destiny bundles. It be a shame not to have another one (preferably pro)

Broman didn't go either. 2 reasons, 1 personal with his wife being pregnant. 2 he wants to stream and be with the community (I.E. make money, build his brand).

Its smart. They only have a few opportunities a year to grow their fan base. Staying home works well for this.

It wasn't for me in the first few hours, but when i soon found out how repetitive it became i just gave up on it. I can however see why people keep playing it, there's something addictive about it i guess because even if those few hours already were samey as shit for me, i did accept invites whenever my friends wanted to play. But soon after that just gave up on it. Can't stand such repitition.

A shame because it's not a bad game at all. The shooting is very satisfying and fun, great agressive enemies and graphically looks great. But for me it needed a lot more content, a lot more quests, more variety, an actually interesting story. Perhaps 2 has that? I'm curious.

It's the raids and trials. The endgame was where Destiny was great.

You may not buy it at release, but you will eventually.
Don't kid yourself.

Can we get a database of all the people promising no buys if 30fps? It's extremely hard for me to take seriously I'd like to see if I'm right or wrong.
Lmao. I play FPS games on PC. If its locked to 30 I'm not interested. Shit feels like mud, I didnt buy my 240Hz monitor to play capped frame rate games lol. Fuck I can't even remember the last time I played a multiplayer shooter at 30FPS.. maybe Halo I think lul.

Oh i'm very much expecting more of the same but maybe with improvements where it's needed. It worked for tons of people so why would they make drastic changes? No expectations here but if they do bring some variety this time, actual things to do and not make it so goddamn repetitive...that would be great. It should be possible without completely changing the game.

I refuse to believe anyone who actually played and finished the Vault of Glass can say this game was not worth its price and time put in to it. Taken King raid was just a big cherry on top.

No one is expecting it to be something else. There's just a lot they can do to improve it that, given the engine and design of the first game, they couldn't do in an update and we're excited to see how those changes are implemented in a sequel and what else has changed/improved.

not sure it's sad, because it plays great at 30 fps. People can choose PC if they want 60+

People who want to play with a controller at 60fps and not get dominated by M+KB users are screwed though.

That's why 60fps on console is important to me. I have a powerful PC but I play all games from the couch. I need 60fps on a dedicated box. Don't care which box it is. I'll buy a Scorpio if it runs D2 at 60fps. I just need something.

I have so many fond memories of playing custom games with Halo 3's forge mode. It pretty much defined the Xbox 360 for me. Don't know how they would do it in Destiny, but I would love nothing more.

Not sure why everyone is saying it's guaranteed to be 30 FPS on console . I'm thinking positively

Because I don't see any reason to believe it will be 60fps at least regarding all PvE content.

Bungie has never given any indication its something they've even considered, and the focus on D2 seems to be to make everything larger, more complex, and more fleshed out. All while increasing visual fidelity. That doesn't exactly pair up with the idea of 60fps.

I do think it would be a great move if they made PvP 60 while PvE is 30 but we'll see.

Yes that's exactly it. I forgot what they were called. I keep hearing great stuff about the DLC, but i never bothered with that. it sounds like if they can bring more of that it will be good news.

I can't remember how many times i fought and destroyed that huge flying eye, but man....did i get sick and tired of that, lol. I keep hearing one or two friends in my party still say 'oh let's go fight Krota' and i'm like....holy shit, again for the gazillionth time? :)

D1 was also a cross-gen game that was designed first and foremost for PS3 and Xbox 360. Back then all competitive shooters were 30fps.

This gen even Battlefield is 60fps and it racketed up the player count and complexity from the previous gen. It's not out of the question that Bungie would adopt the modern standard for competitive shooters.

If they don't, they'll literally be the only developer with a competitive shooter who isn't.

Completing VoG blind right when it first released is one of my greatest gaming memories. It was so mysterious and crazy trying to figure out the mechanics and what was around the next corner. Still the best Destiny Raid imo, though King's Fall and Wrath of the Machine are both awesome as well

They're the only FPS this generation that isn't 60fps. The first game was held back by last gen parity, I think they know it's important.

When have bungie even talked about D2 , never mind the technicals and their vision for the game ???

This is the first game they have made that has hardware capable of it .

People have been pushing this on me for years.

It. Just. Isnt. Comfortable.

I don't have a fancy one like that, just a wooden board and a couple of pillows, but I have no issues with it.

But hey comfort is subjective, so whatever works for you. Might be your only option for 60 fps version from the couch though.

I get why 60fps would be great on console, but like I said the game excels at 30fps and looked fantastic on consoles. Dedicated servers on the other hand would actually fix the majority of the PvP complaints, I'd take that any day.

Oh boy, I'm starting to feel the same way I did back when Bungie announced Destiny. I feel like a little kid.

Except those who want a more single player type game.

I am all for improvements, but this is still destiny, and the main thing to improve over D1, imho, are qol features (besides grphics ofcourse). That said, I'm not against being pleasantly surprised. D1 is already a part of me and mine.

I might be there day one if I can get better storytelling, more interesting locations, better progression systems, and better quests. Core gameplay was already perfect.

I actually got a Couchmaster (basic) from my wife for Christmas a few years ago. It works in theory, but it's still a huge hassle and tangle of wires. The base cushions also shift around a bunch which makes the mouse surface unreliable. All in all it was far too much hassle and it made me not want to play the games that required a mouse.
