hey skittz where did you read about koizumi saying this? Not that i don't think mario odyssey is going to be spectacular of course.

I'm on mobile so I can't really search now but I recall him saying he saw the development of BotW and took it as a challenge to sorta outdo that game with Mario Odyssey. I'm sure someone else can find that quote.

Who says there is no surprises tho? Or are you just a glass empty person in general?

I'm just commenting on the guy implying that because a game got leaked that it cannot be "the" surprise, as though somebody not only mistakenly opened his gift, but he wasn't pleased with it and now feels entitled to another.

I dont know why I think Bethesda will be showing commander keen multiplatform with the swtich version having some dumb exclusive thing like a mario costume.

I got a feeling that might actually be the surprise tbh. Personally bracing for a slightly underwhelming E3 but if MHXX gets a date all is well with it!

Stop projecting. That was not what I was implying.

Oh god we're at 25 minutes now?

I try not to get hung up too much on length but we're reaching a point where the time for games we don't yet know about is very, very limited.

Sorry, just came off that way. As though because the game was leaked that it makes it ineligible for being a big surprise.

It's not anywhere near the top of my list of games to be excited about, but it was clearly supposed to be a big surprise.

We'll get a good look at a 2018 Q1 blockbuster

Maybe a prestige project

Maybe a Nintendo family game first trailer

Then some U surprises

So 2 or 3 big surprises is my hopeful estimation

how often is niconico right ?

Before they've been off by a few minutes, but other times they've been dead on. It really depends on if the worldwide streams all have the same information in them.

Don't really expect 5-10 minute variance from their timestamps.

25-30 minutes is disappointing. Yeah yeah I know, they could still "speedrun through the headlines", but E3 is an annual event people look forward to. At least make it seem like a big deal. I want an hour of Nintendo being silly while still announcing cool stuff.

I'm interested in it but I hope Mario + Rabbids isn't the big surprise of the show. Especially since we've known of its existence for months.
It's gonna be worse than E32015 isn't it? That requires some talent to pull off.
Even if they didn't announce any brand new Switch games, the lineup that we already know about would make a better show than E3 2015. No way it can be worse.

But has it been officially revealed? I wonder if that has to do with games being surprises or not ;)

I wish it was that, too. But if they do just focus on 2017, and show off Mario, Mario + Rabbids, Fire Emblem Warriors, Xenoblade 2, and then announce some smaller games or third-party stuff to fill the little gaps here and there, then it's not so bad. The Treehouse streams can flesh out everything, and there's always more Directs before the end of the year.

Just assuming as I don't think Nintendo is dumb enough to show nothing new. I guess they could think that they can coast with Mario like they did last year with Zelda.

Based on the description of the event it seems Mario will get most of the attention. Like I said before unless it's coming this year or any of the already announced titles gets delayed I don't think we'll see anything beyond holidays releases.

I desperately need a new Pikmin - it's a top 3 Nintendo franchise for me. All I need is a new Pikmin game and Animal Crossing and I'll pretty much be set for life with those 2 along with BotW.

I'll join in:

I desperately need a new Pikmin F-Zero/Wave Race/Pilotwings/Punchout/Kid Icarus/Dr. Mario/Tetris Attack - it's a top 3 Nintendo franchise for me. All I need is a new Pikmin F-Zero/Wave Race/Pilotwings/Punchout/Kid Icarus/Dr. Mario/Tetris Attack game and Animal Crossing Metroid/Balloon Fight/Wario Land/Wario Ware/Luigi's Mansion/(non-gimmicky) Star Fox/Donkey Kong (Country) and I'll pretty much be set for life with those 2 14 along with BotW.

They'd need to change up Pikmin and AC quite drastically in terms of art style and tone especially for me to really care about them again. They've all been very similar on those fronts. That said, if others want them, then I hope Nintendo will keep making them.

Edit: might as well put these two random predictions here:
- Rocket League for Switch - with some Nintendo related content (like Mario Kart karts / arenas or more F-Zero stuff to piss off F-Zero fans even more).
- Metroid Other M: Director's Cut for Switch, i.e. the only Metroid game they can (have Tecmo Koei help) pump out quickly but now with less heels and less inner monolgues about the baby - it just would make too much sense considering how salty Metroid fans are after Federation Force.

They can announce nothing and it already wins. Mario Odyssey, Pokemon Gold and Silver, Pokemon US/UM, and Xenoblade 2 are enough to make me happy.

Edit: Oh, and Fire Emblem Warriors, too.

Nintendo doesnt care about E3 people

There is no way they'd make another game after how that sold

I like to think Nintendo's willing to brush all Wii U flops aside as a fluke since the Wii U itself flopped.

Yes I know you can look at the game's sales relative to the install base but lemme dream please :D

Everyone bargaining now on how good the 20 min direct will be lol and what it will take for them to be satisfied. Classic Nintendo Direct thread lol

Indeed, nothing has changed!

It's like "wow if only Nintendo more of these 'Directs' multiple times a year, especially for next year's games."

They'll do a Fall one for some stuff next year, like they did during the Wii U era. Even Sony has gotten wise and created their own 2nd show for more game announcements after E3. Idk, I guess I'm not burnt from the Wii U droughts as opposed to some others...
