Brandwatch: Microsoft took 44% of all conference-related mentions

Nice to see Dragonball quite high, sad to see shadow of the colossus so low. Microsoft got more mentions because of new hardware and had a lot of games. Sony and Bethesda would have been higher if it weren't for an unfriendly time Europe.

Microsoft "won" E3 2016 in Brandwatch's report too:

Didn't help a lot then...

Weird that Assassin's Creed got so much, I suspect a lot of it was complaining about it. Good to see Nintendo up there a lot, treehouse paying dividends in attention grabbing

I seriously doubt that. Assassins Creed is a huge seller. Even the “bad” ones are still praised by the average gamer.

I'm not a fan, but I doubt they make so many of these if they aren't huge sellers. This is only like the 8th game. (Probbaly) - it even got itself a movie. The franchise is a monster.

One S sold pretty damn well last year.

It did help them out for about 4 months but how much of that was E3 and how much of that One S launching in August mixed with discount XBO to clear out inventory ahead of time, not sure. And December that year was pretty good as well but still behind Sony.

I just question some of Brandwatch's methodology. It does rely a bit on the old adage "There is no such thing as bad press."

Is that enough for them to win this thread? And did they win neogaf

And what the hell is MP 4 doing up there? Either this list is sending me mixed signals or the series has gotten more popularity while on hiatus than when it was actually a thing.

Someone brought it up but there was no tree house in the Nintendo Treehouse.

They could have at least our some trees or painting of trees in the background!

They would have won this hash tag wars if they had that.

definately helps when most twitter users are from the usa

oh yeah and its only english language mentions :_)

if sonys dominance should have thought people anything is that rest of the world > anglo saxon countries

seems like most people here just read over this or assume that the us is the only place that matters

At first this doesn't make sense but then I remember The Last Night was blowing up in social media mentions. Someone in the gamergate thread mentioned they had like 100k related tweets while everything else was sitting around 20k on average.

That alone caused a huge spike for MS.

On some level revealing the Porsche 911 GTR had to have also helped because people who don't follow E3 would still want to talk about that car.

I can't think of what else helped carry them during that time period.

I mean I hate to be "that guy" and I'm certainly not trying to downplay, but they spent an entire year building up the Scorpio and anticipation was at fever pitch for the reveal of that. So it doesn't surprise me, though they do get props for changing the conversation by rescheduling and hosting their show at a different time.

I just wonder how much of the buzz for Scorpio that went in to the show is coming out again as true enthusiasm for Xbox One X. Purely anecdotal tales from my ass, but I feel like now Xbox One X is no longer built on dreams and powered by rainbows, it already feels like a huge chunk of that anticipation has fizzled out.

Others may disagree, but that's how I feel.
