Piccolo is guaranteed, you shouldn't be worried.
He got more shit done in his arc. Plus you could have moves from both DBZ & DBS, which you could theoretically still do with classic Future Trunks.
probably for his skillset, he does a bit more in super than in z, other than that probably just matter of taste for different jacket and hair color

He uses a mix of Gohan and Vegeta signature techniques. Also uses his sword a LOT, his SSJ2 is as strong as Goku's SSj3 and has a new Angry-Kid-Gohan-like transformation

A new form called "Super Saiyan Rage" which is a middle point between normal Super Saiyan and Super saiyan Blue (AKA God Power SSJ), It´s exclusive to Trunks

He uses his Ultra powered slow-as-fuck form as a trap making the opponent think they have the advantage, come closer, and then he quickly transfroms into SSJ2
All of those are more interesting moves than Heat Dome for the billionth time

The correct Trunks to pick. I'm guessing his moveset will revolve around his sword. Arc needs all the differentiation they can get.

Also im curious about the characters rost, probably we Will get androids, krilin, tenshihan, gotenks, kid buu
But idk about yamcha, Chaos, Satan, Kame, napa raditz etc.

I would like bardock since he's a badass Goku, the female Saiyan i forgot the name, hit, Black goku maybe that blue alien Strongest guy that we Will know in this New saga.

Goku Black is one of my probably my least favorite arc in Super and Z (movie retellings excluded). As far as Trunks goes, I felt that he was worse in both design and development in Super.
Giving him Super Saiyan 2 was a plus, but that's about it. The rage power up was decent, but didn't have any justification whatsoever -- he's been fighting dude for years, but now all of the sudden he wants to show up? The spirit sword out of nowhere was perhaps the corniest scene in the entire series, and that's saying something.
And Fighters Z will mostly feature a cast of individuals that won't fight with weapons, I fully expect Arc to capitalize on the one iconic sword weilder that Z has to offer.
