Nahhhh, usually we get Bolos for credit card fraud shenigans, you know actual important things. Even when the mini nes was the hot thing at most we got a hey don't sell more then one per customer email and that's it.
They're probably not counting the 70%. Cause I did about 7 trades. and each of those was at least $300-400 per trade in. So I could see how I hit the $2000 wall so fast despite only making $1400. Damn this is like an RPG, you can maximize your profit (character's stats) if you plan carefully with a little luck lol
I'm defintely going to fill out survey for every single clerk that helped me out today. Everyone was super nice and they were in total shock every time I made the flip lol. Also a childhood friend I hadn't seen in years rang me up so that was pretty cool too.
Yup, we at the associate level can even see that lol. We can see you 5 most recent purchases if we really want to.
For what it's worth we got a bolo(be on the look out) email about people buying and reselling Pokemon games at the same store. It wasn't a corporate email, it was at the region level, and the email was funny cause it basically said "we don't know why these people just turned around and traded these games but please keep an eye out, it also had the transaction log of the customer and all that, but again even in that case the trade wasn't denied, cause again no policy is being broken, but if you wanna avoid an email being sent out about you, don't buy and sell at the same store.
GameStop is a pretty important link in the chain for video game sales. We can talk about parts of their business which are less than ideal for both customers and their employees but they are bringing a service that is pretty much unrivaled.
Sure, some trade ins you absolutely do get reamed on, but that's because nobody wants/cares for those games. Everything newish/Nintendo is pretty fair, especially with promos (like this one). Sure, I could probably make a little more money on CraigsList or eBay but that involves more work and hassle compared to walking to any of a dozen stores I pass during my typical week.
Yeah that makes sense. Would highkey benefit Amazon for those who use it as Amazon Credit.
Too bad I had to make a lot of expenses this month otherwise I would jump in easy. There's a Gamestop and a Walmart right next to each other in one area and a Target, Best Buy and GameStop in another here in Orlando.
Over 11 stores only 1 employee was being really odd. She kept glancing over my account and repeating how many points I have. Other than that, its been fantastic. LOTS of surveys to fill out.
Tell me about it. I wanted to stop at $900, then it was $1100. Now it's $1400. I have to stop not cause I'm trade banned but I guess its a good thing. Otherwise I might not. lol
Took advantage of the +60% trade in value. Traded in the 360 and ONE and all my accessories and games. Bought amazon cards and steam cards. Gonna build a 3rd gaming PC for my daughter (for 3 in my game room). Feeling good to be PC only.
The people who work at the GameStops in my area, for the most part, are usually pretty cool and nice.
Sure they'll ask me if I would like to pre-order something or if I'd like the $3 warranty, but they never harass me about, just a simple "no" from me and that's it.
Sucks for everyone who gets the clueless cashiers though.
Have I flipped any thing you ask? Lol, nah, I'm not that active in the grand scheme of things. I did take advantage of the 70% promo though with a ton of old games I had. It's a great great promotion.
and no I'm not just saying this to come off as a good little gamestop employee lol, just have no desire to put in the effort.
Also I'm the asl at my store, we have no storemanager at the store atm, so I'm at the helm. there was a conference call this morning but none of this came up, there's a store manager call tomorrow but I'm off so idk what's gonna be said there, I honestly doubt anything will be said though.
Huge thanks to all in this thread who took time to break it all down to a science, complete with pics for the best flips lol.
I didn't make out half as great as alot of yall did, but for 70 out of my pocket turned into 350, it's hard to complain! I also got my younger bro in on it and he made 160 or so himself.
But what's this about being able to make gamestop credit into Amazon credit? Game changer if true, and I'm off tomorrow lol.
Here's hoping values and promos largely hold, but I'd imagine there will be a few changes.
I kinda F'd up. My brother signed up for a Pro account and I ended up taking over it so all my info is there as well. I'm not sure I can open my own now since when I get a receipt, it has my name not my brother's.
Bonus question, can I trade the same 3DS flips at a different location or can the GS employee see my last transaction (today) of the B2G1 flips I did?

Yeah this has been a lot of effort. Yeah I honestly would think someone from higher up would have noticed this could happen the moment they decided to put these two promotions on at the same time. So they can't be too upset that people are taking advantage of it.

No I haven't been putting my credit on the Pro card. I asked for a dedicated "Trade Credit" card so it's basically just a gift card, no identity attached.
I think it's because the associates are happy to take your trade in no matter where the source was. I imagine it's good for their store and individual metrics. Add in that many are buying pre-owned games after trading.

I don't think you can have two accounts if they check your ID when you trade in. I dont know how having multiple accounts under the same name works. I'm thinking your licence number would tie them together. Don't know for sure though.
Would love if all GS employees from today could do me a favor and not go to work tomorrow, lmao. I'm guessing it shouldn't be too much of an issue if it's the same person, but a new face would be ideal.
Can someone explain what's going on here? Lmao I see people doing something to come out way on top I wouldn't mind getting a pro out of my standard PS4 or something.
I don't get what's being exploited but I'm off Wednesday and wouldn't mind making some dough lol

I had no idea if I was going to pull it off either this afternoon, lmao.
1. Trade in your old games. Try to get like $250 in credit from this. Use the trade in credit to immediately buy a Pro rewards membership in the same transaction. If you trade 6 or more games in, you get 70% extra credit total.
2. Use that credit to buy at least six used games (search this thread for the post with pictures of the best ones to buy aka the most expensive, or just look on GameStop's website). Remember to have them scan your pro rewards card.
3. Go to second store and trade those in / buy 6+ more, remembering pro rewards card.
I need some help guys, have been using GS for almost a year but no idea how to do this.
So, after trading etc, I had my trade credit amount put on a Gamestop card. Is it possible to use that card on the gamestop website for purchases or does it have to be in-store only ?
I ask because the local gamestop stores near my don't exactly have the best (or most) inventory and I would like to be able to use that saved amount online for a few purchases.

Thanks, I was reading through their website and apparently they have 2 kinds of cards, thankfully I have the one with a scratch off pin so I can use it online.

When did you find out you were trade banned? Start of the day, or did it automatically trigger at some point? Also, did you trade in more than 4 copies of any games?
I see some people saying they successfully hit the $2000 mark, maybe there's some criteria we don't know about.
So for a few hours work today I ended up with $646 in amazon credit, Crash N Sane trilogy and Horizon Zero Dawn. I'm a happy camper. Thanks everyone in this thread for all the help!
(I know I could have done more but I didn't wanna get any greedier than I already was lol)
