Isn't this the case in every team shooter though?
Maybe it's compounded by the fact the matches are so quick it's hard to get on the same page, but I feel like this is the case in Overwatch, Titanfall 2, or any of the handful online shooters I've played.
I try to make my own win conditions based on my kit and try and stick to that - when I try to do everything I usually lose and get frustrated, but when I stick to a gameplan I still find opportunity for some swashbuckling, heroic plays.
I'm saying it's gonna happen whether you like it or not so might as well use it to fuel your rage and become a better player rather than cry about it on a forum

Plus 9/10 the person making those types of moans are the one trying to lone-wolf it, expecting everyone to take their lead despite not realising the team is trickling.
If your team isn't following you, follow them. Some people are too concerned about their own gameplay they forget that of the team. If we're not off to the best start in a match I find one team mate to follow and from there things almost always start to increase.
I reserve that for when I clown on multiple players and shut down their super as they are activating it, or kill them from a devious hiding spot when they're rushing
But its called seabagging don't perpetuate the "squidbagging" myth
omg I just got 8 splats with the splatterscope first time out
so a few days ago after having never tried a scope charger in the first game because I suck really bad with chargers the splatterscope was in the salmon run rotation and I was forced to use it and it was kind of nice
so on a whim I just pulled it out and went into a turf war and did pretty well. the other team wasn't good at all but even still I got a few snap splats and god damn getting a snap splat with the feedback you get from the game is amazing

Why do I feel like there's barely any three star head gear? Sooooo many 3 star shirts, but the selection for other two clothes are barren. Also wish you could reroll the main ability, or at least transfer it.

Welocme to ChargerGAF! Sick snipes in Splatoon might be one of the best feelings in games.
I don't know, I've got some good 3-Star headgear.
If it's different Main abilities you're after, check out the SplatNet app and keep an eye on squids in the Plaza.
Same as Splatoon 1, the shop does a very poor job giving you options / randomizing when you "unlock" 2* and 3* gear
but also you're right in general, i've had days where i spent 50k on shoes and shirts to buy out the shop but there were no expensive hats.
The game right now basically has .. less.. gear in it then Splatoon 1 did at launch, I wish I knew why they were being so stingy with releasing shit. They clearly have good new gear in there with extra textures and bump maps and designs, as well as lazy new gear in there (the hoodie conundrum, where they had like three colours of hoodies in the first game and now they finally have like, the other half of the rainbow, but you can't find the original hoodies anymore) and other recolours but they don't even have the full Splatoon 1 gearset available despite all this time they've had to make new pieces.
Without looking it up Splatoon 1 got a new map and new weapon like every week / couple of weeks when it launched and got massive influxes of new costume pieces. S2 has just introduced a single new weapon, the True Form of the Dual Squelcher, and we still have no sign of an extra map in sight after weeks.

the range of this squelchie thing is insane. it feels like a better sniper / ranged weapon than the charger to my amateur hands. you can stand at a huge distance in the art gallery and control the map.
It got an accuracy boost. The accuracy that all the popular guns used to shoot at, it now does, and now all the guns that used to be popular like the Gal's and the Splattershots, will spread their bullets out in this massive ineffectual circle around their target like the Jet Squelcher used to do.
Feels like they basically just nerfed the guns that were popular and buffed the ones that didn't see as much use originally. Wish they would fix that as the Splattershot is unusable for me right now

l don't know what you're talking about, jet squelcher was one of the most accurate guns in Splatoon.
You never get seabagged if you never die. And that is the only thing you have control over.
The splattershot is one of the top weapons in the game right now.
Oh, yeah, a hard earned kill is also something I've seen bring about a quote-unquote squidbag. But I'm going to guess that 99% of Randoms aren't doing it for that reason lol.
One buddy I talk over Discord with when we play does it on every kill against me because I try to make sure he never catches me, lol (started in Splatoon 1 when I'd only approach him with Bubbler in tow
). We both laugh those up, because we know each other and we know that it's all for fun. He doesn't do it against Randoms, because he doesn't want to be that guy.People often mix it in with Booyah in a game's opening, as well.
Sorry to reply to a topic that's already passed, just wanted to sort of clarify that I don't think anyone who ever Squidkids is squid bagging.

Whew... I actually completed all single player levels with the brella in one sitting.
I was actually going to leave it for last. But the announcement forced my hand.

I dont see why anybody would replay the game so many times and not just for your favorite weapons.
It's not always practical to do, though. Sometimes rolling just gives your enemy a second of free time to fire on you. I've been using the jet squelcher instead and it's far, far more accurate and useful at long range than the dualie version, but it's not great for inking turf or fighting at close range.
I find it a really big problem when dealing with snipers, since in a normal shooter anyone can take out a sniper with any weapon; some just aren't as ideal as others, but you can land shots, even with a pistol. In this game, the low ink range basically leaves you powerless to attack at all unless you get close, and if you have several good snipers covering different sides of the map at once, it can be infuriating to deal with. Dual squelcher was an ideal choice for inking turf and having a good all-range ability, but there doesn't seem to be a good successor to that in this game.

You are talking with a guy who has conpleted TTYD and Wind Waker 10 times total. With OOT coming close at 8 replays.
That and unlocking the other weapons has opened my eyes to some of them. I would have never considered using a blaster seriously before. Plus the hero variants look really cool (especially the charger).
Granted, I can see how replaying the game is not for everyone. It can get tiresome.
Already replayed the final boss like 50 times or so. And i still like it.
But i guess my avatar says enough why tho
Still need to get all the hero weps tho but i wanna lv up first in turf war a bit to 20+ or so (still 18 as of right now). I played too much of Salmon Run so i have been slackin lv wise in multi.
I like replaying games/bosses i like(d) multiple times.
Kingdom Hearts 2 is my most replayed game at 26 times.

I just love how the game just keeps adding time to the lobby count down timer. Why even bother having it if it can never go down to 0?
