Saw a couple of aimbots, I think plus some kind of hack that removes recoil/bloom. One guy sniped someone at maybe 200m with an SMG and hit with every bullet, really obvious cheat.
Both won their games, naturally. Pretty off-putting.

make sure you report them with the in game report feature.

You can set a pin marker with "R2" on the PS4, which your squad mates can view. Useful for easily identifying a zone to head to.

Big reason why I have no interest in cross platform play with PC. I rather have all the hackers isolated to that platform. Absolutely tears the fun out of the game.

I hope there's no crossplay with PC. Console players will get destroyed against K&M users.

What the fuck is wrong the pump action. Is it supposed to fire twice when you pull the trigger once? It’s annoying as shit.

Kinda want to try this, if you die like 78th or something do you have to stay in match or do you just automatically leave?

Yes. If you press the right trigger you'll leave a waypoint marker on the map that other people in your squad can see.

Also worth knowing you can run approximately one square (width) in one minute.

So if the storm is shrinking for 2 minutes and you're 3 squares away from the next circle you'd better have a stack of bandages on hand.

Pin with R2, squadmate's can also see it.

Awesome. Thanks a lot.

Finally won my first game.

Next game was looking good. Got a yelllow scar, purple scoped AR...

Then the game starts chugging. My screen freezes for seconds at time. When it clears up I'm getting shot and I die.

This game is cool! Grabbed it on PlayStation to try it since I don't have much interest gaming on my PC anymore. Feels good with a controller. I see why people enjoy these types of games. I'm excited to learn it.

Rarity affects rate of fire (on shotguns at least), accuracy, maybe damage drop off at range?

Not 100% sure on any of that, but if you go into your inventory you can see detailed stats on any gun.

You can open your inventory and highlight each weapon to see the stats. If you have a green and a blue weapon, you can compare the stats side by side.

Yes that is the order.

Oh thanks, I actually didn't know you could access your inventory! All the stats are there, that's cool, thanks everyone for the information btw!

and I call them White < Green < Blue <Purple <Orange (WGBPO Win Games By Practicing Often - there, never forget :) )

Hey, that's a great way to remember this haha, I'm going to use it for my next games!

It's crazy how many games I've played since the game launches on Xbox One, I'm really getting addict!

This is sure way more casual than PUBG, but I don't mind, I like this simple game, I only wish they will give us several maps in a near future since I'm getting a bit bored to only play on the same map each time and I already know like every location, even when it's on an empty field.

I just had the startling realization that the D-pad would be perfect for switching between items.........WHY isn't the d-pad the switch item control????

Id rather it remain triangle and add in R1.

Dont want to take my thumb off to change weapons.

L1 for crouch, R3 for shoulder switch would be ideal for me.

Got teamkilled, uploaded and sent to epic

Hope they do something. Wait, do the guns have falloff damage rates?

My friend is pretty obsessed with this, its the only thing I've seen him play so much and so constantly.

It seems alright. I'm not a fan of the lobby waiting time though, have they said anything about decreasing it in the future? Myself and friends have gotten into a few games and within 30 seconds been killed, it hasn't happened a lot, but waiting around 2 minutes for the possibility of no real play time is something I could see myself getting annoyed at long term.

It can take awhile for 100 people to load in on 100 different PC's and 100 different connections

Or, L1 for build mode, Circle for crouch, D-pad for switching between items. The MAIN advantage is that you can go in either direction with the d-pad.

Yeah I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the control scheme. Im probably going to make a profile on my elite controller to rectify the situation.

The 3 round burst rifle is awesome. I rarely ever bother with the M16 looking rifle, it’s inconsistent as hell, but I won a game earlier using a white 3 round burst for 90% of the match, lol.

I had no idea this game existed a few days ago. Really enjoying my time with it.

What's the PvE about? Will it be free at some stage too and is it any good?

It will go free in 2018. It's a type of 4 player co op, build a base and defend it from waves of enemies game. It is adding a horde mode soon.

How is the blue smg? Is there a purple? White and green suck but the blue is a totally different weapon

They need proper names.

Played a really intense game with a terrible squad. Dude went afk for a good 3 min lol

Love how the aim assist pulled towards some dumbass hiding in the bush. Bet he was surprised when I blasted him away through the leaves.

Lag has been awful for the last three days or so. It's unbearable and they really need to fix their shit. Also, ran into my first aimbotter or at least I think he was one. Guy locked on to me while simultaneously fighting somebody else and didn't miss a single shot. Ended up killing 6 more people and it was like every time somebody came into view he was honed in on them with perfect accuracy,

Played FIRST game of squad and me and a homie stayed linked up through the game and had a EPIC ending and got 1st! So nice having a great experience with a random, vs what im used to in halo lol.

After a good twenty plus games, I finally was able to get a win. It basically came down to avoiding anything resembling a landmark, staying on the outside of the circle, and never engaging in a fight unless absolutely necessary (about to be found, they have no idea your there and are directly in front, etc.) and hiding in lots of bushes. I didn't get the draw to these battle royale games before but I most certainly do now.

It was fun, I have an umbrella, and I can't wait to win again in twenty plus or more.

Hackers are getting a bit too common. Basically made me ragequit from playing the game tonight. Would have been an ez win regardless.

They have to get a hold on it or its gonna kill the game. Like 1 in 4 matches has a hacker at this point. I had great luck before, but they are all in my matches now

PUBG has around 50 bots each round who doesn't do anything and this hasn't killed that game yet...

And what about console players? We have no shitty hackers on our platform.

PUBG is the market leader and has a larger more ingrained playerbase. Fortnite doesn't have that luxury. Hackers did however fuck up Day Z back in the day, GTA online (outside of RP servers), and a long list of other games

And what about consoles? Because you don't have hackers en masse on console doesn't change my assertion that if Epic doesn't reign in hackers it will threaten their game.

I don't know exactly what you're stating or arguing. That not regulating hackers doesn't matter? It should be priority #1 at this point.

Does anyone know what the weapons impact mean? An Assault Riffle has 25 while a shotgun has 300?

I've been interested in seing what the difference was between the different color weapons and so far I've concluded - Not much?

The M16 looking assault riffle white vs green. Green does 1hp more damage and reloads 0.2 seconds faster. That's it?

Had this weird issue where logging in and exiting a BR game would take forever to load, like 3+ minutes. Somehow it got fixed by choosing the region America in the launcher, even though I live in Europe. In case anyone else has this problem.

I just had the most unconventional/luckiest win ever. I dropped immediately for once with about 20 other people, and I frantically go into the first house...nothing inside but a spike trap. I lay it down, close the door and run upstairs. 7-8 people proceed to walk in and die to it over the course of the match, loading me up with pretty much everything imaginable, the circle keeps closing in perfectly on the house I’m in. I end up winning with like 11 kills and only one guy towards the end didn’t fall for the trap. I’m assuming he only noticed because of the assload of materials/weapons laying on it, lol.

Fortnite Battle Royale Updates - Duos, Supply Drops, and Weapon Accuracy
By The Fortnite Team

Hi folks,

Wow, what a great response to Fortnite Battle Royale! Here's an update.

DUOS
Duos will release in most regions with this release. We want to make sure that adding a new playlist doesn't make the experience less enjoyable so stay tuned for more updates on the status of Duos in your region.

Bring a friend and let the duos begin!

SUPPLY DROPS
Supply Drops are back! ! We tried once, but couldn't quite stick the landing. We fixed those issues and we're excited for them to return.

Supply Drops are more likely to contain rare weapons and items that you want in a pinch. They're also a hot zone for attention, so planning how to grab one is important. Watch the skies for those supplies.

WEAPON ACCURACY
Almost all of our weapons are hitscan (Sniper Rifles are the exception). That means when you fire, there is no travel time and the target is hit instantaneously. We initially started with very high accuracy on our weapons. This often led to being shot by someone who you couldn't see, making crossing open fields too risky. It led to more conservative play, and camping became dominant.
It also didn't differentiate the weapons well – if a Pistol can kill people at the same range as a Rifle, were there enough other differences? Engagement strategy is a key component of our combat (including building walls), and if you don't have time to defensively respond to being shot, we lose out on what Fortnite's building brings to the table.

Quickly after, we did some iterations with aggressive fall-off damage (as a lot of you have already suggested). There were three main concerns we had with this model:

It felt unnatural to hit a far-away target with a rifle but do far lower damage
It was unclear at what distances your damage would be reduced
It was still difficult to respond since you couldn't see who was shooting at you

As a result, we set a couple key goals with our combat:

Goal #1 – Pistol sniping at long range should not be possible.
Goal #2 – Our weapons should have characteristics that encourage a wide range of engagements based on: distance to target, target type, ammo availability, etc.

This meant using accuracy as a mechanic to force closer engagement distances. In most cases, this had the desired result: weapons very neatly grouped into different ranges.FortniteBattleRoyale_OutlookScreenshot.jpg

After looking at this info, we quickly realized that a Scoped Assault Rifle and a longer range SMG were required to round out our base weapon lineup, which we added in the update on 9/26.

So, what are we doing going forward? There's a few additional approaches:

Some weapons don't quite live up to their expectations. The biggest culprits are the Assault Rifles and the SMGs which were recently adjusted. We'll continue to evaluate and there may be more incremental improvements, not a radical adjustments.
It can be unclear what improves accuracy. Standing still, crouching, and aiming (instead of hip-firing) all have some form of impact on accuracy. We'll look into ways to improve usability on the reticle, including improved readability of your accuracy cone.
We'll be running prototypes using more recoil and reducing accuracy penalties. The idea behind this is that the first shot will have higher accuracy (but again, not perfect) and then subsequent shots will require slightly more skill. These will be incremental adjustments until we find the sweet spot.
Lastly, enabling projectiles for all weapons (not just the Sniper Rifle) is something we'd like to explore. Doing this would allow for tighter accuracy overall. We've run prototypes internally and it shows promise, but there are challenges preventing us from turning it on. Once those are sorted out, we'll consider running a broader test.

Our goal is to provide a competitive experience without losing our unique playstyle and crazy over-the-top moments that Fortnite Battle Royale brings to the table. We look forward to your help as we continue to hone the experience.

For those of you who have strong feelings on this subject, we encourage you to participate in discussions on our forum. We also plan to spin up a PTR in the coming weeks where we can test out some different ideas and gather your feedback.

Cheers!

LOL this is the most amazing use of a trap ever
