You realize you can just ignore them right? I personally like the idea of not giving said companies the satisfaction of having their stupid quotes fade away with time.

Sony does have the worst PR department.

MS did have a few. ninty seems mostly quiet interms of quote dissasters.

I just wondered if there were any/many Vita hubris quotes out there. I vaguely remember there being some, I think, but not specifically. Have they improved since PS3 launch era?

Hah. I think that is quite well played. Sony have the right for arrogance, they are the inventors of hd cam sr recorders and etc. Sony is a high tech company in a true sense of the word where others are only consumer level tv peddlers at the best... I mean there are so much more in the story than the psp or consoles. They invented commonly used industry formats and digital recorders.

It may be a coincidence but other than the SNES/Genesis era the market was at its prime under Sony guidance. The moment they lost it everything went to shit, they have themselves to blame of course. Again, coincidence/it was bound to happen eventually but.

Oh those quotes bring memories of early this gen crazyness. Although at the same time I would say that nowadays Sony is not that arrogant anymore. Of course one reason is that they are not leading the market anymore and the other obvious is change of people in leading positions like Kutagari and Harrison going elsewhere. I would actually say that Sony has at the moment one of the the most likable PR persons in gaming industry too: Shuhei Yoshida. Him owning Wario64 in twitter was pretty epic.

so what happens when something doesn't sell at one cent. Would that thing be overpriced?

I know youre talking from an offer-demand market perspective, but that's not the only thing to take into account, if we speak as gamers that study before buying.

Will I be likely to buy a console making a profit per unit at my cost when they should be making that cut out of the games I buy? No, unless there's a game i want 100% (MH3 was the case). I see the consoles as hardware. So to me, and probably many others, the components that made the wii had a brand overprice. I look at it just like when I buy a graphic card, or a cpu, or a motherboard... best performance for price.

It seems just about everyone on the gaming side is a 'fanboy' of one of these companies, or has some sort of an agenda. I probably have one too, although I haven't become fully self-aware yet. Mama Robotnik is a Nintendude, for example. He wouldn't have made this thread if it were Nintendo making these quotes.

I actually don't think there were that many for Vita. The only I can think of is Sony saying Vita wasn't going to be competing with 3DS like a few weeks after Monster Hunter went to 3DS.
