Yeah, I don't get the outrage over the lack of an ethernet port. Who does not have reliable wifi anymore? It must be a very small amount.

Whelp. Guess I'll play offline the first day. I mean seriously if it does take two hours as it did on that stream then theres no way I'll wait it out instead of playing the games.

Seriously, if your going to have a day 1 update, let it be as small as possible. The fact that this is from Nintendo is even more shocking lol.

And I have a 5meg download speed too...

The problem isn't the size. Think the real problem is its going to take you 5 hours to download.

I wonder, how many millions upon millions of iPad purchasers FREAK OUT when they find out that it doesn't have an ethernet port?

The falsest of equivalencies. Playing timing heavy games over wifi is far from preferable and I don't see people playing Tekken on their ipads.

Somehow your blind obedience to Nintendo makes you miss the obvious difference between the two.

Oh, yeah? So the people with iPads are less likely to connect their device to the internet? The people with iPads number far fewer than the people who buy Wiis? We don't live in a society where virtually all new consumer electronics connect to the internet wirelessly, and people regularly buy wireless routers to accommodate them?

Please tell me which part of this my Nintendo obedience has fabricated. Hopefully it'll be something other than "people only set up wireless networks for devices not connected to the wall."

Who ever came with the 5gb estimate to begin with is retarded. 2013 is almost here a people should have a notion on how Internet works

Not 5 gb, it's 2012 why don't you have a router.

Optical out? lol who knows.

I have an expensive router. I have my ps3 and 360 hooked up over ethernet though.

Id rather not deal with wireless packet loss when playing timing specific games.

Some netcode can handle this better.

Oh, so you're saying that most people with Wi-Fi find that their maximum bandwidth is being throttled. That their internet connection is slowed dramatically by the bandwidth allowed by Wi-Fi.

Funny, I thought that even standard 801.11g well outpaced the vast majority of home internet connection speeds.

I spit out my water when I saw those prices. My condolences.

Mm. It always makes me smh when people just tell others to "get better internet", because in a lot of the smaller states in the US it simply isn't an option. You often times have one ISP and have to either deal with their backwards pricing and shit quality or go without.

Where the hell are you that this ghetto-looking provider is your only provider?!

I've seen people in rural Saskatchewan (think Canada's Wyoming) with better ISP options than that!!

Western Oklahoma man =\

THEN BUY THE DONGLE DERP!

I don't think the non-fgc gamers really appreciate the benefits to a hard line connection to your modem.
