I am fine with just more God of War, doesn't need to be anything too innovative, I just want to enjoy the spectacle one more time.

I agree to a certain degree, but the multiplayer beta was pretty enjoyable and I like that they've taken a risk this time instead of sticking to an established formula.

I fear it might polarise reviewers though, the execution might seem schizophrenic.

This game was a mistake from the word go. Sony should've listened to me (and others) and took this moment as a way to reboot the franchise (by "giving" it to Platinum/Kamiya and letting them use any mythology they want).

Complain that he's a shallow character with no depth so they change it up a little to show more character, and now they complain he's changed.

Looking forward to it but i expect 7 and 8 from most reviews .
They need to move the GOW series forward or do a reboot away from Greek Mythology .

Sounds around what I expected. I'm sure people that like God of War will enjoy it. I might pick it up later down the line.

I think Santa Monica should do this. It's not like they don't have a shortage of mythologies to pick from.

It has basically the same problem as the new Gears of War even tho this seems to have the full production values behind it. They are year too late into the system lives to really excite people outside of fans no matter how solid they are. Last of Us is probably the last exclusive to have any real hype behind it. For multiplats theres GTA5. I feel even Bioshock suffers for being a little too late.

Lowest rated God of War yet? Sony are in a difficult predicament with where to take the saga and how to evolve it next when it comes to the inevitable IV.

First time a GOW game is going to get below 90 on a home console. Granted its not a mainline game but seriously Sony has dropped the ball with this current team. They need to do few quick things. They need to change the game /design director ASAP and keep someone permanently good there. This same formula will not work. It usually only tends to work in genre's like FPS where most games are almost the same. Here they have so much potential to evolve it but no, They treat SP as an afterthought . A GOW3 game where SP is an afterthought!!

I never imagined that in my wildest dreams. Shame on the SSM team. Really disappointed. You have let down your fans big time.

Yep the franchise fatigue has set in it seems. Because I'm pretty sure the quality is still there. It's just hard to get hyped for a new GoW game after GoW3 that's set in the same universe.

I love it when OPM UK does those meaty reviews. I remember back in the day even IGN used to do 3 page reviews, now everyone only does a few paragraphs.

Haven't heard about the tweets but it's a pleasant surprise to see the media wank not apply too much to this iteration, seeing as it looks far less appealing than the games before it.

Still, it looks to be a solid entry nonetheless.
