Am I the only one who found Skyward Sword as fun as Ocarina of Time?
Most likely. I don't post in these threads that often.
I think most of the key people joined the Zelda Team, so yeah. I have to look it over. I remember reading most actually were absorbed by the Zelda team.
Where is this quote from? I've never seen the source on it.
Skyward Sword was by far the funnest 3D Zelda game. Best dungeons, best combat, and actual tough bosses.
Just wondering, what about the team who worked on the Oracle games? Was it the same group of people?Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap credits:
So out of the Minish Cap team, 22 guys stayed at Capcom, 6 guys defected to Nintendo, but they did NOT immediately go to the Zelda team. Instead, a lot of them went to HAL Laboratory or other Nintendo affiliates working on Pokemon projects.
....Like I said, the majority of the team stayed at Capcom, and a few guys defected to Nintendo.

No. I think Skyward Sword has the best dungeons in the 3D Zeldas, and is the most dense Zelda game to date. The only problem I have is with Fi... oh lordy
Skyward Sword was by far the funnest 3D Zelda game. Best dungeons, best combat, and bosses that weren't walks in the park. The problem was the back-tracking, FI, low number of NPCs/exploring, and weaker side-quests.
I truly wanted to love SS, but the damn motion controls could just not work with me. It's a shame, I played the first 2 dungeons and absolutely loved them. In the end, though, the motion controls just made it really un-enjoyable.
Never change guys.Skyward Sword had worst dungeons ever. Those were the shortests, the easiests, and most lineal than never. Can't find amusement in temples that don't make me think or let me explore. Only Wind Waker would be near that level of crappyness.
It also would have the worst overworld too if Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass didn't exist, with that separated areas that ruin the adventure feeling. And the sidequests, the story and the music weren't probably the worst in the series, but they're not far of that. Maybe the music was the worst, indeed.
Skyward only shone by the combat system.

Fuck no. Skyward Sword's music is miles better than PH and ST.
This isn't really the thread to do this but I personally found SS' dungeons to be equally-to-slightly more complicated and better designed than OoT's. MM and TP still take the cake when it comes to the 3D dungeons, though.
The only theme I remember from any of those games was ST's overworld theme. I have to go back and revist Skyward Sword.
As if you're even arguing. ST's overworld theme was pretty good, but Skyward Sword's orchestrated and amazing. "To The Sky" is the best overworld theme. Bar none.

Times like this I remember how Retro stated that they were "working on a project that everyone wants them to".
Not sure how trustworthy that is, but the link is from EuroGamer. Though, it seems related to Wii U, not 3DS.
Most of them stayed at Capcom too.

Stop that, a Capcom Zelda won't happen again.
If it does, half the dungeons will be DLC already on the disc.
Most of them stayed at Capcom too.

Gah. I see :P
I wouldn't mind Capcom working with Nintendo to work on a Oracle/Minish Cap/LA inspired Zelda game then. I would go ape shit.

Grezzo is the new back-up Zelda team. Capcom haven't had anything to do with the series in years.
Regardless of how you feel about SS, you have to admit that Ancient Cistern is amazing
Skyward Sword cannot have the worst dungeons ever thanks to dungeons 4 and 5 alone. The rest are okay, but those two are incredible, among the best in the series.
They haven't created an original Zelda game or worked on an over-the-top 2D Zelda so I'd love to see the original Flagship team work on Zelda 3DS.
Amazing regarding the artstyle, but still too simple. I don't even like that boss, picking up his weapon is just a ripoff from Wind Waker. Bosses in SS were probably the worse in years, at least Ghirahim is awesome.
Capcom! Capcom Production No.1! They developed the Zelda GBC + GBA games!
You can see in that image exactly what role Flagship had in the production of Zelda, and besides some of the planning, EVERY aspect of development was handled by Capcom.
I can't wait until the next Zelda is out, so that Skyward Sword can finally be a good game.

Alright let's change course. Do you guys think this Direct will be more Localization-focused, or more centered around revealing new titles?

I think I'd rather have the localization announcements, specially if it's for BD or AA vs. Layton or other anticipated Japan-only (for now) games.
Think about it, we all know Kirby/Zelda/Metroid 3DS are coming (ok, not so sure on the last one) and when they do they'll make it here. On the contrary, we have weekly threads about what are the odds of BD or AA vs. Layton making it here. So, the net gain would definitely be on the side of securing those doubtful localizations for NA/EU. I know I would sleep better.
So I'm definitely hoping for localization announcements.
My dream Zelda would be a combination of Skyward Sword's combat/dungeons/bosses with WindWaker's great characters/towns/atmosphere/exploration, Majoras Mask clever use of time, and OOT's epic story, pacing, and music.
This Nintendo Direct is featured on Nintendo of America's website, now.
Again, did this happen the last times or not?

You may be right. Anyway, Majora's Mask needs extra dungeons, not extra side-quests and masks.
