You know what I love? That no matter what, we're always the same hopelessly hyped little boys/girls posting every time a Nintendo Direct gets announced. :p

But fuck that, gimme my F-ZERO 3DU Nintendo!!!

Am I the only one who found Skyward Sword as fun as Ocarina of Time?

I truly wanted to love SS, but the damn motion controls could just not work with me. It's a shame, I played the first 2 dungeons and absolutely loved them. In the end, though, the motion controls just made it really un-enjoyable.

Most likely. I don't post in these threads that often.

I think most of the key people joined the Zelda Team, so yeah. I have to look it over. I remember reading most actually were absorbed by the Zelda team.

So out of the Minish Cap team, 22 guys stayed at Capcom, 6 guys defected to Nintendo, but they did NOT immediately go to the Zelda team. Instead, a lot of them went to HAL Laboratory or other Nintendo affiliates working on Pokemon projects.

....Like I said, the majority of the team stayed at Capcom, and a few guys defected to Nintendo.

Skyward Sword was by far the funnest 3D Zelda game. Best dungeons, best combat, and actual tough bosses.

I went through all the bosses like nothing, though, I don't think there's been many tough bosses in Zelda games. The last boss was a joke in Skyward Sword.

Just wondering, what about the team who worked on the Oracle games? Was it the same group of people?

Skyward Sword had worst dungeons ever. Those were the shortests, the easiests, and most lineal than never. Can't find amusement in temples that don't make me think or let me explore. Only Wind Waker would be near that level of crappyness.
It also would have the worst overworld too if Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass didn't exist, with that separated areas that ruin the adventure feeling. And the sidequests, the story and the music weren't probably the worst in the series, but they're not far of that. Maybe the music was the worst, indeed.

Skyward only shone by the combat system.

No. I think Skyward Sword has the best dungeons in the 3D Zeldas, and is the most dense Zelda game to date. The only problem I have is with Fi... oh lordy

Never change guys.

EDIT: Jeez, you insulted both SS AND Windwaker? In my Opinion Skyawrd Sword=Ocarina of Time & Windwaker=Majora's Mask.

Fuck no. Skyward Sword's music is miles better than PH and ST.

Wind Waker is worse to me. SS is pretty clever but too simple, you just have to look around and you'll find the answer. Twilight Princess was better than both (talking about dungeons)

This isn't really the thread to do this but I personally found SS' dungeons to be equally-to-slightly more complicated and better designed than OoT's. MM and TP still take the cake when it comes to the 3D dungeons, though.

The only theme I remember from any of those games was ST's overworld theme. I have to go back and revist Skyward Sword.

I disagree about SS being more complicated. They were pretty straightforward. MM and TP did have the best dungeons.

Skyward Sword cannot have the worst dungeons ever thanks to dungeons 4 and 5 alone. The rest are okay, but those two are incredible, among the best in the series.

Most of them stayed at Capcom too. :p

The only problem with Skyward Sword is the busy work. Go here to get a new glow for your sword, go fetch shit for spirit trials, go collect music notes.

Fi was annoying, but that wasn't even close to the most tedious thing about the game. They could have cut a good 6-7 hours of busy work out of the game by combining some of the ridiculous stuff you have to go place to place to do and it would have been completely better for it.

Regardless of how you feel about SS, you have to admit that Ancient Cistern is amazing

Amazing regarding the artstyle, but still too simple. I don't even like that boss, picking up his weapon is just a ripoff from Wind Waker. Bosses in SS were probably the worse in years, at least Ghirahim is awesome.
I still LOVE Skyward Sword for many reasons.

They haven't created an original Zelda game or worked on an over-the-top 2D Zelda so I'd love to see the original Flagship team work on Zelda 3DS.

Capcom! Capcom Production Studio No.1! They developed the Zelda GBC + GBA games!
You can see in that image exactly what role Flagship had in the production of Zelda, and besides some of the planning, EVERY aspect of development was handled by Capcom.

I wish Ghirahim had more forms and was the final boss. His fight was the most entertaining.

I know. I thought Flagship was nothing more but an alias for the group of people who worked on it. When I refer to Flagship, I'm referring to Capcom :p

YAWN

Ask me which Shakespeare novel is best
Yeah, Ancient Cistern and Pirate Ship dungeon put many other Zelda dungeons to shame, and this is coming from a guy who isn't all that into SS.

no, you're not alone. I enjoyed the game as well...

but I enjoyed it more when I replayed it using a usb loader and activated ocarina cheats to speed up the text and eliminate the battery and materiales notifications.

I noticed the slow text really kills the pace of the game.

Alright let's change course. Do you guys think this Direct will be more Localization-focused, or more centered around revealing new titles?

Depends if a Japanese Direct is announced.

If there is, and I think it's likely, that combined with the press events afterwards makes me think there's something decently big to be announced. Not necessarily Zelda or Metroid, but something.

I think I'd rather have the localization announcements, specially if it's for BD or AA vs. Layton or other anticipated Japan-only (for now) games.

Think about it, we all know Kirby/Zelda/Metroid 3DS are coming (ok, not so sure on the last one) and when they do they'll make it here. On the contrary, we have weekly threads about what the odds are of BD or AA vs. Layton making it here. So, the net gain would definitely be on the side of securing those doubtful localizations for NA/EU. I know I would sleep better.

So I'm definitely hoping for localization announcements.

Same here. For the exact same reasons. If I would wake up to PLvsAA & BD localization news, it would be the perfect way to start the day. Plus the fact that most publishers for 3DS are going all out, (Code of Princess, Project X Zone, Ace Attorney 5) makes me feel confident that these announcements might actually happen.

My dream Zelda would be a combination of Skyward Sword's combat/dungeons/bosses with WindWaker's great characters/towns/atmosphere/exploration, Majoras Mask clever use of time, and OOT's epic story, pacing, and music.

Fixed.

But yeah, I had the same feeling about Skyward that you did.

I hope the 3DS Zelda is Majoras Mask remake or a top-down multiplayer Zelda.

Now that I think about it, I'm still hoping Xseed will announce Senran Kagura on one of these Directs.

I really hope I don't regret waking up early to see this only to have them talk about something like Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins for 30 minutes.
