I did that today before the update, AFAIK it's always been there.
did anyone nice the SpotPass in grey text when it asked if you wanted to enable the downloads while on standby mode?
amber LED when Wii U is off
Update successful !
The OS doesn't seem much faster, but I'll do proper testing tomorrow.
Loaded into the game (NFS as well) pretty quickly for me, without any issues.
Wow amber LED?
MEGATON
I'm not being sarcastic either
Never worked on mine, And I would try to do it every time I would open a game... Weird... :x
Seek professional help, if you are that crazy there's nothing GAF can do
Actually give me your address I'll call the men in white coats for you
It has to be a software issue, criterion can't lie about this now. They said they don't experience any freezing, liars. Everyone in the OT has had multiple freezes.
Ease the temptation by biting your hand or headbutting a wall!

You sure you weren't pressing Start?
It's very fast now. Going into a game and out of it is quick.

So...Is this the end of "Why is the Wii U so slow?" threads and discussions?

It should be in the upper-right corner in the Settings Menu.Any way to see what firmware or "Menu" version you've got after each update like the Wii/Sony, MS? I have no idea where to look.
Nice, you can use the B button on a Wiimote to boot straight to Wii Mode as well. No touching the Gamepad required.
I would be very careful if I were you.
You guys do remember WiiConnect24, right? It was Wii's "Standby Mode" and basically fried the GPU. I won't risk fucking up my console for something like this.
its a tad bit quicker, but not what the hype suggested

Yup. WiiConnect24 24 fucked up 3 of my Wii's (my near launch unit and the 2 returns Nintendo sold me). I ended up buying a new Wii after the 3rd refurbished died then just never used WiiConnect24 and I've been fine since.I would be very careful if I were you.

Yeah, it doesn't sync immediately but keep pressing and holding B and the light will hold eventually, and boot straight to Wii Menu.Really? I tried but my wiiremote wouldn't sync until I got to the WiiU menu, even though I could turn the WiiU on with it....hmmm
Someone press the button
pressing Update now
A tad.
Where is the thisisneogafgif???
This (currently) isn't the same thing. It'll stay in standby while it's downloading something that was *started* while the console was on, but then totally power down when finished.
Placebo effect works both ways!
A tad.
