Fast as fuck? No. Faster? Yes.

The Power LED will be amber when it is downloading something, not when it is simply off, if I understand correctly. (Edit: Or not?)

I love the added Wii Remote support, the changes to Miiverse, and the fact that the disc no longer spins when not in use.

Seek professional help, if you are that crazy there's nothing GAF can do

Actually give me your address I'll call the men in white coats for you

Sure, my address.

It has to be a software issue, criterion can't lie about this now. They said they don't experience any freezing, liars. Everyone in the OT has had multiple freezes.

I have been playing Most Wanted for a 10+ hours now. No freezing whatsoever. I have a white Wii U. You guys probably have black Wii Us, which is obviously wwwwaaaaay inferior. (No racist joke here.)

Ease the temptation by biting your hand or headbutting a wall!

I don't let faith choose my destiny.

Can someone tell me if the screen size setting alters the size games run as well? NSMBU has UI that's cut off currently and having no overscan problems would be awesome.

dunno man even Miiverse feels fast lol

must be because everyone else is downloading an update

just came from miiverse by hitting home instantly

if it is faster after Summer nintendo needs a smack for not having this done for Launch that was BS man bull caca

Nice, you can use the B button on a Wiimote to boot straight to Wii Mode as well. No touching the Gamepad required.

Really? I tried but my wiiremote wouldn't sync until I got to the WiiU menu, even though I could turn the WiiU on with it....hmmm

I would be very careful if I were you.

You guys do remember WiiConnect24, right? It was Wii's "Standby Mode" and basically fried the GPU. I won't risk fucking up my console for something like this.

Don't think that will be an issue as this is only for downloading software so it will return to an off state once finished. Plus the fans will probably still be running while it's doing it

It's very fast now. Going into a game and out of it is quick. :)

No more staring at those splash screens now. Sometimes the song on the MoHun splash screen would finish and start again and play for a while still while the game loaded (game on HDD), now it won't even let it finish once. I've noticed that on the Virtual console titles it is also way quicker.

Yup. WiiConnect24 24 fucked up 3 of my Wii's (my near launch unit and the 2 returns Nintendo sold me). I ended up buying a new Wii after the 3rd refurbished died then just never used WiiConnect24 and I've been fine since.

never ever heard of this shit and my Wii had been in that standby mode 2 years because I just left it plugged and played nothing until Xenoblade

there are many other ways to fry your Wii electrical storm is one

This (currently) isn't the same thing. It'll stay in standby while it's downloading something that was *started* while the console was on, but then totally power down when finished.

Done it! Took 20 mins to download and around another 20 to install lol. Seems faster. Had an error at around 95% when installing but the Wii U restated and continued at 80%.

God is in his heaven. All is right with the world.

Yeah, it doesn't sync immediately but keep pressing and holding B and the light will hold eventually, and boot straight to Wii Menu.

Oh yeah, and as for times:
Opening System Settings: 15.5 sec -> 9.7 sec - 5.8 second difference
Closing System Settings: 17 sec -> 15.4 sec - 1.6 second difference

Opening Rayman Challenge: 14.9 sec -> 10 sec - 4.9 second difference
Closing Rayman Challenge: 16.3 sec -> 6 sec - 10.3 second difference

Are you sure? What's the point of it then? Even without the Update you can select the "Shut down after the download finishes" option.
