It's not detecting my internet connection again... I've gone into the Settings and deleted and re-entered and it does not connect... This is what it did before I restarted and everything failed to restart. I feel compelled to restart it, but I'm afraid it will do the same thing again. Ugh...

Restart the router/ modem. Unplug it for a bit. I had to do that to get my Wii U to find it, but that has only happened like 2 times and it was before the update.

By the way, is there a way yet to update apps other than opening each, one at a time?

IIRC that was one of the features in this update. Software will update automatically, and in the background.

edit: not seeing it in the changelog, so maybe I imagined that :|

I can't. I already thought of that, but I can't because the router isn't in my house, it's in my landlady's house. I just won't touch this thing tonight, it'll auto turn itself off in an hour or do whatever it wants. Beyond annoyed at this point... Thank you all, again.

Edit: Also, how do I delete all connections and start from the beginning with only one saved? Every time I open the internet settings it attempts to save every single connection I try, I only get the option to delete one when all 6 save-slots are full.

That's the best you can do at this point.
Try tomorrow again.

Ok left Wii U updating while I went out. Just got back. Error updating pad. Restarted update, all ok.

Loaded trine 2. Quit to menu. 6 seconds to get back. Better than before by far but still a bot slow.

Loading seems faster for some things. KIRBY VC game loaded about 1/2 the time of ore update. Wii U chat loads wayyyyyy faster.

Woah. Just loaded up browser and got message 'if the edges of the screen ate hidden change in system settings'. Does this mean system wide overscan support ?

I'm kinda sad that Monster Hunter's boot up theme is so short now.

On one hand I like that its faster but on the other I loved how the song always makes me pumped to play it.

VOOK

We don't know why he keeps buying PAL, either.

yes

Go to bed.

19 mins!

I will see you backlog of 30 and raise it by 300 on Steam. With so many quality titles in my backlog I am looking for anything as a must play on U.

is this a secret Wii U troll? why did you buy it with a 300 backlog?

You should buy Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and put your gamer skills where you mouth is... go grind through that and see if you ever see your backlog again after doing some online hunts with Gaffers

Whatever you do, don't listen to anyone that says LEGO City. Download any LEGO demo on Steam for an idea of the monotony you will go through time and time again in LCU.

If anyone on your local network is using torrenting software of any kind (including official updaters for many online games) I've found that it will completely kill my Wii U's connection (orange user icon) so it could also be something to do with your network traffic.

Have you played LCU? Because I've played multiple Lego game demos across multiple platforms ranging from Star Wars to LotR, and despite those feeling a bit stale even in the demos, LCU kept me hooked all the way to the end.

I don't think this was always the case, but I just downloaded the Rayman app and it's automatically installing instead of having me click the install button.

Not really a big change, but I guess it's one less step.

Ice climbers was on page 1 they moved it back to page 3 lol Nintendo trolling me on eShop with the VC did not want to buy your ice siblings anyway

That's part of the update. Games will download and install in the background now. Installing being the new part.

No, I'm just suggesting that he tries out another LEGO demo for the hell of it. What do you think? I own it, and hate it. The story is amusing at times, but the gameplay in the missions are dreadfully boring and the same formula (hence, the reason I suggested the demo), and most of the activities in the open world are locked out until you earn more costumes by playing the boring missions.
I'm trading it to Amazon next week with that +$20 bonus, essentially earning a full refund.

I actually gave it another shot tonight after the update, and was bored to tears within 10 minutes.

But anyway, I don't like to sound like I'm trolling or something (hence the reason I stopped posting in the LCU thread), but I just had to speak up when I saw people suggesting it as one of the best Wii U games.

You're not imagining things. It's part of the "software will install in the background" thing.
Yeah, it certainly downloads and also installs the updates in the background -- the next time I opened up Wii Street U just now, it said that the software update was complete, instead of doing the install then like it used to. However, how do I know if one of these apps needs an update? On the 3DS, going to the eShop will notify me of updates and I can queue them up.

Eeeeeeeeeeeyeah. It's definitely keeping stuff on RAM. I looked at that video and used Friends list, took 6 seconds. I was like, What?

Did it again and it matched that 2.8. The best part about it is when you exit, it doesn't even show "Wii U Menu" it just fades back to the actual menu.

I noticed that there wasn't a slowdown anymore while downloading something in the background. Before the update, even the Wara Wara plaza's framerate would be affected during a download, but it was perfectly smooth after the update while downloading Rayman's challenges app.

Also, I love the WiiMote controls on the browser, which make it usable on the TV :)

I'm not stupid, but given that you didn't explicitly say anything specific about LCU but rather lumped it in with all the other Lego games, and taking into account the posting habits of many people on forums, I legitimately questioned if you had indeed played the game. If you didn't enjoy it, you're entitled to your opinion. But there are plenty of people saying that LCU is by far better than the other Lego games, and stating that all of those opinions are inherently wrong because you disagree just seems a bit short-sighted. Every game isn't for everyone.

dunno what kind of mojo it is but I like it :)

Hmm so I was downloading stuff, turned off the system via the pad and it didn't go into standby? I selected it to go there after the update?

I think it should take a moment. Like it should go red, then orange after a moment. I'm not sure, mine randomly went from red to orange (and incidentally my Skylanders portal which was plugged into the system lit up) and I turned it on and saw nothing downloading or installing, so I'm not sure exactly what it was doing. Maybe downloading a small random update for a game I haven't played in a while.

I knew you wouldn't disappoint me smiles :)

I miss the hunts myself but life has been crazy the past few weeks got to get back in I want those Slime Dual Blades I want to work towards

seriously though MonHun scares me... I suck at it but it is very addictive I want to make sure I take my time with it so it lasts me a year or two until I see MH4 in HD

Did yours turn back to red from orange? It didn't for me so I'm curious if the color change is one-direction at the moment.

Yeah.. that's how opinions work. I never said mine was above anyone elses.
Some people like the game, some don't. I suggested that he try out a demo for an idea of the gameplay before blindly buying it based on Nintendo-GAF's recommendation, like I did. That's it. You can choose to be overly sensitive/defensive of my choice of words if you like, but I was just looking out for my fellow gamer. LEGO City doesn't have a demo after all.

yeah let me get some sleep so I can hunt tomorrow and all weekend :)

Goodnight Iwata I know you are watching this thread that's why you trolled us with this update

Yeah, it should go back to red eventually I believe.

Your comment "Whatever you do, don't listen to anyone that says LEGO City." flat out devalues the opinion of anyone who likes the game. And then you equated the demos of the others to "the monotony you will go through time and time again in LCU."

Backpedaling to say you were being any sort of objective is a bit futile now. But I'll drop the matter.

Its working now. Just had to be patient. BTW to those who suggested it I am downloading the demo of Monster Hunters.
