was just testing the waters with this, but I think im gonna polish and go for it

wish my case was white inside of black

also im worried about the artwork having noticeable artifacts
Let me give you some advice since I customized a brawl stick for a friend for Christmas.

End result:

Here's my takeaway from that experience.

Kinkos lamilabel RULES. Printing cost me like $4. FOUR DOLLARS.

Pro-tip: don't leave the button holes blank. If the print is even a little bit off, it'll show white. Just use the BG color and then if it shows its NBD. Look closely around the buttons in the pic above and you'll see what I mean.

For design critique, there's too much unused space. The yellow in the art I made is just noise, patterns, but it makes the picture look a lot more complete.

So I ended up really running into a lot of trouble trying to get an LS-32 installed into a 360 Fightstick(SE). Because the holes in the harness aren't threaded, three of the screws just broke off when I was trying to screw them in. I have no idea how to get them out. To make matters worse, a different screw(one of the original screws) stripped on top as I was trying to screw it in. I can't get it in or out. This is what I'm dealing with.

g62YFJpl.jpg

That's the stripped screw on the right, and in the two holes from the left you can see broken screws stuck in there.

I tried a screwdriver, pliers(to try and loosen the scew), and every drill bit I have that seemed like it might work. It won't even budge, and it's so stripped out now that I don't know what to do. I don't see how I can salvage the carriage/box at this point, but I'm all ears if anyone has a suggestion. I also tried putting a rubber band over top(before it was stripped this badly) to give the screwdriver something to grip on, and I also tried drilling into the screw slightly hoping that it would provide a little more depth for a bit, but neither worked.

I thought this would be an easy mod, but the shoddy construction and screws are really giving me a tough time. I didn't touch it at all through the week because I was so frustrated with it, haha.

Man that looks like a pain. I've never had that issue with a stick, but in other projects before I've been able to get them out with an extractor bit. This isn't the correct size that I'm linking you, but it's the general idea. You drill into the screw with the normal bit, push the extractor bit into the hole, then the extractor bit can grip and screw it out.

Here's a link, might be what you need.
http://homerepair.about.com/od/interiorhomerepair/ss/screw_extractor.htm

BTW, my project is coming along pretty well. Here is a little GAF exclusive sneak peek.

I almost wish the korean-flag inspired packaging made it to the stick itself.

Definitely going to be a cool little stick!

(nice WH porn backdrop too)

Oh man... I don't have a stick yet and I was/am planning to find a cheap stick to start, but man is this tempting... I'm all for simple aesthetics and this stick looks fantastic. And $90 off. D:

Somebody talk me into this/out of this.

Also, say I hypothetically bought this stick and decided I wanted to resell it sometime in the near future. Would I be able to resell it for close to what I bought it for, assuming it's kept in great condition?

Hey guys, I'm back in the market for another stick. Thing is, I'm in Ireland right now and my options seem to be limited - mostly due to amazon.co.uk charging insane prices for sticks.

Is there anything comparable to qanba q4? I'm playing on ps3 but I need xbox360/pc compatibility as most of the players in Dublin use that for tournaments/casuals.

That Namco stick deal is fantastic for anyone who is in the market for a single-console stick. That is one sexy piece of kit, and you can't beat that price.

Damn that stick is sexy, love the clean minimalist look, now only if it came in white!

Woo! Just got a brand new Hori Stick for the Wii. Didn't even have to pay for it. I had like $20-ish trade in credit from some DS stuff at gamestop and they wanted to get rid of it and marked it down. Rediscovering Tatsunoko vs Capcom and several bullethells on that console now and I'm considering modding this thing's art with something to compliment the light blue stick and buttons. Cant decide whether to Shmup the art or use TVC though.

100? yeah-- probably. It depends on a few things that are out of your control though.

That said, if you don't have a stick, this is a no-brainer. I feel like most of the people in this thread have more sticks than hands though ;-)

Thanks for the input!

Oh cool. Perfect. And just out of curiosity, what are the things that would cause the used price to drop?

Anyways, thanks for the advice! I'll dwell on it a little longer today, but as of right now I'm veeery tempted to get it. I always like something I can resell for a good percentage of the buying price if I wanted to because then it feels more like an investment than losing money. It's all about tricking my frugal mind into thinking I'm not really spending money. Haha

Edit: Also, this will definitely work on PC, right?

Hey, I have a Madcatz SFIV Fight Stick (regular) and want to get it working with my PC (with fighting games now coming out on steam). Unfortunately I have an Nvidea chip so my stick won't power on.

Any cheap, good solutions?

I saw you can buy a USB adapter, but I'm not sure which one to get. The ones I've seen online have had mixed results. Would prefer not to have to buy anything, TBH.

Woo! Submitted my order for that Tekken Hybrid Fightstick!

I still have time to cancel it, so I'd still appreciate some confirmation that it actually works on PC. :p

So today I played on a stick for the first time, on an Arcade Cabinet for SSIVAE and all I can do to describe the experience is: Kreygasm.

I need to get me a stick for home play. I sucked of course, because I wasn't used to it, but it was great playing on it!

If it works on 360 then it most likely works on PC, I don't think I've encountered a controller yet that works for 360 that hasn't worked on PC.

Okay I can order some stuff to style my stick but I don't know what to do, hmmmmm... I only have to choose from literally anything in the world to put on it....

Here is a project I did. I had an anniversary stick that I used on the ps3. Its a ps2/xbox stick that I used an converter to play with. Anyhow, I started playing on the 360 and needed a stick for that so I modded it to be a 360 stick.

This is the stick here

This is what I did. Hacked a 360 controller pcb and put it in there. Its pretty messy in there but that didnt really matter to me.

Im in the process of turning it back into a ps2 stick so I can play CvS2.

Hey guys arcade stick question. I think my USB cable has a short in it is there a way to fix this? I don't mind soldering and I have the tools to do it.

The easy solution would be a USB extender. If the total cable length with extender is over 15 feet, consider a powered one with signal repeater to lessen lag.

I think I'm going to do a pac-man theme. I just harvested a bunch of art and stuff so now I have to figure out how I want to design it.

Whoah...

That two player stick... please tell me what the deal is? I want one of those!

EDIT: Ohhh... these are for actual cabs, I guess. :-( Would be great if these were made for non-cab use as well.

Seems like the only 2 player stick out there is the Xarcade Tankstick, but that uses American style Happ knockoff sticks and buttons. Is there no similar 2 player stick with JPN gear? I guess there isn't.

These Control panels can technically be used outside of the cab. It would just be a really large and heavy arcade stick :D I still have 2 2 player control panels to play 2 separate games on the cabs or SFxT 2v2.

Here's my summer project finally complete.

I invited the local FGC guys to my basement (aka Super Basement Opera) to play on the new setup. Behold the glory that is Seth's vortex game!

You're not getting enough credit but this easily looks like the classiest thing to touch this thread.

Thank! I'm really tempted to share more of the woodworking pics as that much is pretty much done, but I'm resisting the temptation so that I can show it off with all the electronics in and everything.

So I think the Fightstick SE that I was trying to mod is done for. The broken screws are stuck in there and nothing I've tried has even budged them. As much as it sucks, I think my only real option is to buy another stick, but I don't just want to get another Fightstick and have the same problems because the screw holes aren't threaded.

So, what 360 stick is easy to mod but also not too pricey? Swapping out the stick is my biggest concern. I might not bother with the buttons if the stock ones are decent.

That K-Stick looks pretty nifty, but can I say that I'm really more a fan of what Madcatz has been doing for box design versus stick design? That KE box absolutely kills, the stylized KE looks great and I love, love how it mirrors the style and color of the South Korean flag.

225px-Flag_of_South_Korea.svg.png

It's not bad looking, but I do wish the stick carried over that same blue / red / white scheme instead of the orange / gray theme, which I really don't get visually. Tastes are obviously subjective on this, but kudo from me to your box designer, especially if they were the same person who did that tasty Chun-Li TE box.

Unfortunately we are all sold out of TEKKEN sticks for PS3 and Xbox 360 :(

Also, the box designs are a group effort and I'll make sure our designer hears your thoughts. :)

Chun-Li chest was my idea <3 ! haha

I have fallen out of love with fighting games so I am trying to find the best way to unload my sticks. Is ebay the best way to go or should I just find someone here or on SRK to buy them from me directly.

Currently in my possession:

1. Used VSHG(PS3) with original packaging
2. Used SF4 TE Stick(360) with original packaging

I dunno, I see sticks fester unsold in the Buy/Trade/Sale thread for ages.
He'd get the best price on the VSHG from eBay for sure, too.
I've sold dozens of sticks on there. As long as your price is competitive its not too bad. Shoryuken.com is probably better to sell on though as long as you meet the criteria to sell There.

Yeah I bought my stick from Smoke in the B/S/T thread. Well worth trying.

I haven't checked the thread within the last week, but when I do there's nothing there or it's too much for me. There were so many offers I could've/wanted to jumped on while I was still being verified so its more salt in the wound. At this point I kind of just want to get any old stick and stop with the headache since I've been looking for one way too long. Keeping my fingers crossed for something good from the B/S/T thread one day though!

So has anyone with a Fight Stick TE (like the original SFIV ones) re-painted the bezel surrounding the plexi? What did you use?

I did some searching on the topic, and it sounded like a lot of people said it didn't take paint very well. I'm wondering if I sanded it first with a specific grit, I would have better luck.
