Sony started accepting digital preorders for PS4 games on SEN and PS Store

Why are you reading my tag instead of the title of my post?
Why would publisher voluntarily put their F2P game behind a paywall anyway? What would they even gain from it?

Well that's what it is.

I don't see anything wrong with it, why would you need more than 1 master system?

Because 2 is better than 1??

Apparently you get some special pack for Warframe for "preordering". 20,000 credits and some other stuff.

I think it's slightly different. On PS3, you can download and play on two activated systems, online or off, with any account on the system. With PS4, you can download on two systems, but only play offline (or different accounts) on the "Home" system. To play on both systems, the other PS4 has to be logged into the purchasing account.

So in other words, to share a game you've purchased, designate the other person's PS4 as your home system. They'll be able to play the game on their account while you play it logged into yours.

Yes. On "home" console you can play any game that was purchased with the "account1", no matter what account you are using. On "away" console, you can play that same game if you are logged into "account"1.

So, 2 users can indeed purchase game 50/50 and play it on their own separate accounts.

Xbone uses same account managment.

Knack!!!!

One of the the best PS4 launch titles also happens to be the first you can digitally pre-order?

It's a sign. A sign of its mindboggling awesomeness.

And this is why I refuse to buy digital titles instead of retail boxed copies. Full retail for digital? NOPE! Drop the price $5-$10 for digital only.

We don't know yet. Smart move would be for a PS4 to try and download everything bought on the first log-in.

Full retail for digital downloads is a load of shit. They should AT LEAST take 10 off (basically what you will get when you trade a hard copy game in). The only way I would go digital download is if 1) I lived in the sticks with no stores around or 2) I was a too fat to fit my fat body into my car to drive to get a hard copy.. both of which do not apply for me :)

Well, if you take that playstation credit card deal and get 50 bucks (after your first purchase) you could almost get an entire game preorder with that money.

just hope they leave the old terms cuz I have to buy on December another PS4 for my wife and I pre-order CoD digital, like I did with blackops2 on PS3 so I don't have to buy it twice.

Lets make an # Gaf!!!!

or if they see that both PS4 are running on the same WiFi the should let us use one game for 2 PS4 a lot of parents and husbands will be $$$$$ relief.

helped a brotha out on multiple separate occasions!

I think you still need to initiate the download.

Remote downloads should kick in on the 15th once you've downloaded something on your PS4 and tied that system to your account.

I hope they put up Killzone Shadow: Fall, DriveClub PS+ discounted full game upgrade, Assassin's Creed 4, and Battlefield 4 soon.

I really want to apply all of these games to the $50 / $10 promotion...but I'm not sold on Knack.

I'm hoping that's next week. Would love to get the drive club upgrade early

Any idea how big BF4 will be? Probably will just buy it at the store, even though I'd much prefer to have it on the HDD however downloading it all night starting at 12 would be a buzz kill to say the least.

Current gen version is almost 14gb. PC version is 30gb. Probably somewhere in between.

Couldn't agree with you more. Plus looking into the future, when hardware fails and is no longer available and online servies get shut down, your digital library is lost. At least with my discs I can expect that emulation software will be created to run the discs in years to come on a PC.

Emulation software for PS4?
That's even more of a distant pipedream than everything else you're talking about.
While you do have a valid point, I don't think a person is getting insufficient value when buying digital like that.
What's an average cinema ticket price? Well, about ten bucks. Average movie length? 2 hours or so. And usually, you won't see that movie again, unless you really like it.
So with games the average entry fee might be six times as big, but games on the average run from 10 hours and longer, even more if there's multiplayer and achievements to do.
And just like with movies, it's a rare game that you'd go back multiple times.
So in the end I can't help but see games as a kind of service and not something that forever will be with me. After all, client hardware and storage media failures are also likely causes of losing the ability to play those.
Now, I don't think any big recent service has closed yet so we can't speak for what will happen then.

Sorry if this has been asked a dozen times, but does anyone know if we can lock down all the PS+ stuff that comes out for PS4 without having the console itself? Will I be able to just add Drive Club and Resogun to my Download Queue from the online store when they're available and have them there waiting for me when I get a PS4 next year? That'd be awesome.

You can do this with PS3/Vita, so theoretically yes.

Keep in mind Drive Club is always going to be there, no matter when you buy the system/sub to PS+ there's a specific "Drive Club PS+" version. If you want the full game you're gonna have to pay additional money(Dunno if full price or discounted if you have PS Plus).

"GAF's biggest wanker"
I can't believe knack is $60, especially since sly 4 and pupeteer released for $40
Sony has done the same in previous generations. Their pricing for games coming out at the tail-end of the generation for the old console does not in any way dictate pricing for games coming out on the new console.

That's what the web stores are for. Just 'purchased' them and it'll automatically place them on your download list even though you don't really download them.

I guess it goes back to the fact I like owning what I pay for, and I don't feel like you get that with an intangible digital version of something that is tied to a service.

"Digital" pre-order? What? How does that make any sense? You should pre-order because all the digital copies are gonna be gone?
Probably so that when the games become available, they'll automatically download to your console even if you're in bed asleep or at work. Alternatively you'll be able to buy and download games to the PS4 via the PlayStation app.
