sliding is a basic centurion skill!
Dont worry, they still have 2 weeks to iron those animations out...
ryte?
sliding is a basic centurion skill!
I dont get it, CBOAT said X1 graphics would be downgraded?
Well I would say it animates better for sure, and GoW 3 will always look incredible. But in terms of graphics, this is clearly above any current gen game. Maybe aspects of Beyond impress me more, but the visuals on display are very impressive to me.
Of course I expect whatever SSM is cooking up to be more impressive, but this looks damn good.
You're trying too hard. The game looks fucking amazing.
And this?
Ryse looks to be the bare minimum of what I expect from next generation graphically.
Sorry, all other games.
I dont get it, CBOAT said X1 graphics would be downgraded?
Yeah, those are 50mbps 30fps direct feed gameplay scenes from the trailers, but not interrupted by montage

Some framegrabs from one of the trailers:

While the graphics are looking better then current gen, it's nothing like the story trailer was
Its unavoidable, because this is long animation that is performance captured and cant be modified in real time.
Not hard, it's easy find this kind of animations in every Ryse video.
Exactly . In game graphics are not mind blowing.
Exactly . In game graphics are not mind blowing.
Maybe they shouldnt have such long animations. Or have it play a different one if player is < x feet from barrier.

You can always tell when an Xbox game looks really good her when you see a bunch of posts reaching hard to find anything wrong with it and downplay how good it looks.
this looks so good
wish you could turn off the qte and let the execution happen automatically like OT in ninja gaiden 2
they would look amazing without these stupid slowdowns

Lol at the barbarian guy behind Marius...And this?
Hey, he is just playing it fair, like those dudes in Assassin's creedLol at the barbarian guy behind Marius...
Yea, have fun with that. It shows desperation because the things you point to don't even happen all the time at all. It's a few odd bugs/glitches here and there. You ignore the moments where it doesn't happen at all, in an attempt to give the impression that this kind of thing happens all the time.
When you've seen the same playbook over and over, it becomes predictable and tired after awhile.
Yep, keep telling yourself that lol. The footage shown is nothing short of amazing. I laugh at that kind of attack on this game, especially since the in-game models are the same exact ones as those in cutscenes and are the same graphical fidelity. They just don't focus on them nearly as much during gameplay, because, well, you can't outside of quick transitions in executions. Whatever model is shown in the cutscenes are what the player plays with in real-time.
I beg to differ.

You guys got me wrong. I still think the game looks beautiful. but the story trailer before was step above this. Yes i know they have same models in cutscene and ingame but small things can make a huge difference. just look at ND games cut scene. They shouldnt, i agree. I dont think executions was good idea, but its design decision and already made assets, so why should they throw it away?
You cant fix it, so why complain about it in every thread since E3? Nothing changed and will change in that matter.
And many game with longer kills also has similar problems, You can check any game with 'glich' search on youtube.

Exactly the same models as ingame. Download direct feed footage, there are closeups to Marius and he looks identically to Story cutscenes.
Don't really agree, it's just zoomed out most of the time so obviously you don't see the same amount of detail. There are parts in the footage where the person playing focuses the camera on Marius's back and there's an incredible amount of detail similar to this shot. It's comparable to how people are saying NBA 2K14 doesn't look as good as the trailer because you don't play a close up of Kobe's face.

Also i would like to add that animation are very much improved. they dont look clunky any more at least in SP

Cutscenes will always look better than gameplay, because they are cutscenes, they are tightly controlled set pieces, with more detailed animations, totally controlled camera angles, physics and lighting conditions. You guys got me wrong. Yep!
You CAN do that. You can turn off the colored prompts telling you which button to press. You don't even have to press a single button during any of the executions for them to complete automatically. The executions do happen automatically. You couldn't fail them even if you tried. They just happen. Also, if you want, you don't even have to trigger any if you don't wish to do so.
Well I thought he was amazed by the Marius' sliding skillHey, he is just playing it fair, like those dudes in Assassin's creed
For overall complexity of the scene maybe, but Naughty Dog's cutscenes use higher quality and fidelity character models than the ones used in gameplay. All Ryse models, even enemies, are 100% the same inside or outside of a cutscene.
.
.Cant Find a link but ND themselves said that in game and Cutscene models are same. only difference is Lightning and AA.
Things i noticed.:
Looks like Ryse is not using tessellation. // it is using tessellation and PoM
Blood looks like it has fluid base physics could be wrong tough . // nope, normal particles
Also attacks have weight now when it connects. May be due to using some physics engine. Very noticable in night time footage when you block an attack and are bounced back.
Also i would like to add that animation are very much improved. they dont look clunky any more at least in SP.
Previously Enemy body showed Scars where the swords were hit that's not the case any more. but i m not sure about this

I'll say one thing for threads like these. They help improve the overall experience on GAF substantially lol. In threads like these you usually easily pile up a list of posters to ignore. Already had Zatoichi on ignore for some reason, don't remember why, but it had to be for a good reason.

Enemy bodys still display scars from strikes, but they are difficult to see at all times during real gameplay. This was confirmed just last week during an MP stream of the game. Believe it or not, the attacks have always had that weight to them ever since E3 when an in depth interview on combat was done. The slide back animation from a shield block is new, however. I first noticed its appearance in the newest MP builds.
It seems to happen under two situations. When blocking a shield push attack from an enemy, it causes the player to slide back, and when blocking the more powerful attacks from those bigger enemies.
I agree, its always best to only hear from people that have the same opinion as you.
Unless you mean people that throw insults around, then yea.
I beg to differ.

This gif is from the same area as the Glott gameplay. The game looks this good.
This reminds me so much of the level in Lord of The Rings: Return of the King where you have to protect the wall in Minas Tirith. I fucking loved that game. Hype rising for Ryse, screw what the previews say.
Jesus that looks truly amazing.
Sure about tessellation . there doesn't seem to be the case like during castle gameplay on broken wall
I thought it was Thruway that said that?
