Since this thread is popular right now, it seems like a good place to ask.

Were the Day One editions only available via preorder? Does this guy have a normal one, or a Day One edition?

@laserbuddha: I see. I dont want to derail but I dont think MS/Sony/Ninty should be "policing" who bought what on retail stores. Thats Kmart/store's job. If they find some employee stole a game, fire his ass. Also I dont think nintendo/Sony do this draconian big brother type of shit with games purchase early. Didnt some pokemon game release like 1-2 weeks early a few weeks ago? Im sure Nintendo didnt do shit. If those guys stole it, its not Nintendo's job to ban their system/account. (not saying its ok but you shouldnt have to prove where/when you bought it while blocking your console, its ridiculous)

Ontopic: Those UI screens look great. Love the "whats popular" tab with all the games. kinda makes you want to join in the fun everyone is having!

I don't know. It's a weird thing they have with having all power off I guess? To clarify though. They don't shut the console off my doing that. They first shut it off the way we all do with the power button. After the light has turned red they then turn that switch off. Still silly though. It would be like doing that with a TV. Might as well not even have a remote.

On 360 every week Major released player stats for the top games on his blog/site I think. Some games showed in the in game setup, but I don't recall there being an outside of game OS level feature to show it.

Correct. If he has a legal copy he is not legally required to withhold information.

Day one edition is definitely pre-order only from what I've seen. Some of the later preorders Gamestop took are being filled with the standard green box edition (from what I was told today). Anyone who preordered it early should get the Day One edition.

That said, I'm sure some stores will get extras of the day one console...

I believe RLan does the awesome XBLA sales chart breakdowns which I think are taken from leaderboard data, possibly some other insider info too, maybe.
He always does a fantastic job with that data though.

We got weekly stats sometimes that showed the top 20 games, but no hard numbers. Aside from the games themselves sometimes integrating it ala Halo or CoD showing how many are playing in each playlist.

He's not bound by an NDA, however whatever site he streams and/or posts the footage would be taken down and his account on the site probably shut down.

An embargo isn't any kind of legal thing - it just means "hey don't run this or we won't give you any more stories."

Signing an NDA gives them slightly more protection than that. Clearly this dude didn't sign shit. He should be in the clear.

For anyone wondering. It costs around $1.50 a year to leave it in standby. So do the cost benefit. Don't know what Xbox One or PS4 will cost. Probably more.

Some were just warning him if he puts it on youtube he will get a strike against his account, as Activision and IW have been heavy with content going up early.
By the looks of it he is a youtube streamer and gets revenue so he would not want a strike on his account.
As people have said though he could make alt accounts and show some stuff on there.

As for NDA's, he hasn't signed any so in that respect he can do what he wants.
Also if MS bans him for getting people hyped about their console, they deserve all the shit that would fly in their direction on this guys behalf.
