I agree that it doesn't save much but you were way too aggressive. Chillax, its all fun and games here. I leave my AC running 24/7 during the summer so it really depends on the person obviously.

I do all of those things because my only option for electricity is generated from mountaintop removal. I try to reduce my energy consumption where I can.

While the amount a person may save by unplugging everything from their outlets is small, how is it not justified if the point is to save money?

Also, not everyone is the same. Stop sounding so condescending. Why is this even an issue? Does it bother you so much that people do this? Come on.

@outunderthestars Your response makes perfect sense as well. I personally know people who do this and it just angers me to no end. ESPECIALLY when they shut a PS3 off straight from the back without shutting it down properly and then complain that their system says it didn't shut down right...Yea, because you're doing it wrong, just like you were doing it wrong with the PS2. >_<

EDIT: blarg misread it. Thought it was during a skype call on the One. Yeah that makes sense though I hope there are commands that only work if it hears you and then looks at who you are. The signing in and switching to your home screen did that in the video they released today, but other things didn't.

Maybe it's to protect from surges? I know when my PS3 died, it was because of a power surge which took out the power supply.

Compare to my friend's 360, which has been through quite a few lightning storms and shorts and has only had to buy a replacement power brick. Who knows?

Microsoft shipped the consoles to retailers and yet could not afford to have a launch or release date prior to the PS4? I'm a bit confused as to why they position themselves in such a way if retailers are already receiving stock.
