Yes, you did. You tweeted without any judgment and now you're upset people are holding you accountable for it. Did you take the time to ask Thuway who his source was? Did you take the time to think about whether CBOAT was actually a credible source -- especially in light of all the things he's gotten wrong coupled with his outright hostility towards the Xbox One project? Nope, you went ahead and posted that you had also heard that from a source. Skate around it by saying "But we had the same source!" all you want. All it does is makes me go "Well, if Mort is going to say something like that, then I'm going to be utterly skeptical of anything he reports going on."

As I said, I'm not sure why you can't see why people would feel this way.

Mate, you need to ease up with the persecution complex. I'm not attacking you; all I'm saying is that surely you can see that by making commentary based on something CBOAT sent you in a PM that you've damaged your reputation in the eyes of some. Given that it obviously means a lot to you, I'm more surprised you haven't just gone "Yeah, I'll be even more scrutinizing in future."

Well. To be honest an entire overhaul is a bit overkill at the moment...an update to fix the os is much better imo

On a side note, I'd love a seemless Skype + xboxlive party chat. Like somehow integrate them yet keep them separate!

I suppose FM was somewhat right on this part, although he missed the snap part. Either way, good to know his insider knows something lol

Name what Cboat was wrong about? The twitch delay was corroborated by Bish after it came out and that was just ONE of the issues cboat told him about. Everything else has not been posted yet to my knowledge because he was told to wait.

When someone tells Mort than the XB1 is unstable and crashing a lot who are they and why are they saying it?

Are they an MS employee that loves MS and the XB1? Probably not. Are they a disgruntled MS employee, someone who wants to see the XB1 fail, a guy at a developer competing with the XB1, someone who gets a kick out of seeing the information they shared go viral? Probably something along those lines.

Any time anyone shared secret info with Mort they must be thinking about it going public and what that means, and must want it to go public. Maybe it started as a guy who knows some people in the industry who share tidbits, but at this point it has to be people using him to get across what they want.

Simply repeating information from anonymous sources is extremely prone to abuse. The guy who said that the XB1 was very unstable - what happened to him? Nothing. He got the message he wanted out there, and when it turned out to be false there were no repercussions.

All good points, however this is a discussion board, not network news. And it is a board that is very well moderated. People are checked, and those that give bad info or are lying are banned.

I haven't experienced any functionality crashes and glitches except with BF4, and that shit is entirely on DICE.

Cboat never rumored anything about Twitch being delayed. His rumor about there not being streaming was a reference to the fact that the gamescom MS presentation wasn't going to be streamed.

I wonder if this feature is tangled up in the Skype team. Is it possible many aspects of the Xbox One are tangled up in the different divisions of Microsoft which leaves the Xbox team in limbo unable to do anything substantial?

Although it works just not like what hardcore users of party system want so sounds like they may be investing in making it better for those users.

Personally I never use it on either system

Bish stated that CBOAT told him about twitch in the PM, along with the other unreleased info about his shitstorm. Bish did not allow him/her to post any of that info until it came out or could be verified. It makes sense that this is another one of those issues contained in that PM.

In terms of stability it doesn't seem any more unstable than PS4 or Wii U at launch.

"The OS is buggy and things sometimes crash" is going to be true of every launch system in the modern era. My issue is that it was spun as something out of the ordinary.

It's like how Kotaku reported that a lot of XB1 games were delayed and Pachter was like "no shit, games get delayed all the time for every system. This is news?" And it turns out plenty of PS4 games got delayed as well, as did Donkey Kong. "Games are getting delayed" was a true statement but also completely ordinary for any publisher, but Kotaku made it sound like a scoop or something specific to XB1.

Why are some of you guys so mean? I mean honestly we can all make mistakes and if it wasn't for insider information, we would have probably gotten a shittier hand from MS.

He works, and relays information because he's passionate our hobby and has friends on this forum and he makes a slip and you go for the jugular. I'll try to be more understanding because this industry really can be at times smoke and mirrors and I for one would rather be in the know and have a few tidbits wrong than have nothing at all.

You know what, fuck it. Microsoft take your time and get it right. I can deal with it being a mess for a little while longer. I figure I'm going to have the system for a long time so them replacing the system that is a mess to something proven is fine by me and taking up to a year is ok.

It sucks that they just didn't go this route to behin with though.

And then you keep doing it over and over, like you didn't get your point across the first time. Like basically everyone attempting to discredit him and other insiders.

Because you know what? That's not your job. It's the mods. GAF takes this stuff extremely serious, and vets everything. Yet CBOAT is here, Mort is here, etc.

Leave that shit to them. It's not our deal. It doesn't personally affect you if he's right or wrong.

I don't have large issues with party chat, still prefer 360 set up

Only annoying thing is when turning on party chat requires a trip to the dashboard and then opening the game

None of that sounds like a total overhaul of a fundamentally borked system, so I don't know why people keep pointing to it as confirmation. He's talking about getting things like the inability to connect to certain people or NAT issues resolved and maybe making things work more like they did on 360 (like being in party chat by default when you join a party) and not a total do-over.
