Way too many people in this thread going "OMG NINTENDO GAVE ZELDA TO TECMO AFTER OTHER M WAS SHIT WHHHHHYYYYY" and not realizing that Other M was Team Ninja, a subsidiary of Tecmo, while Hyrule Warriors will be developed by Omega Force, a subsidiary of Koei. Yes, Tecmo and Koei are one company now, but the two sides are still mostly autonomous. Nobody from Team Ninja or anyone involved with Other M is going to touch this game. It's going to be all Omega Force.

btw, other m was a very good action game, even if a mediocre metroid. this will be inferior, for the simple reason that mosou games have tons of limits

Tecmo Koei shouldn't be allowed anywhere near beloved Nintendo IP after fucking Other M. If Nintendo really wanted to appeal to the "hardcore" or "western" audience they should have partnered up with a western developer (not named Ninja Theory) that would have provided a new take on Zelda than what we have here. Hell I would trust Platinum to deliver a better action-oriented Zelda game rather than Tecmo Koei.

The work that Team Ninja did on Other M was really great stuff. Other M's problems were actually from the Nintendo side, Sakamoto. Team Ninja made great gameplay despite the directions they were told by him

I don't know why people are so mad about this. Zelda is my favorite sites but this does nothing to harm it. It isn't replacing a main game it's just a spin-off. Zelda U is still coming.

Also we all need to look at how insane this is. Regardless of if it's successful, it's FINALLY demonstrating that Nintendo is trying to leave its comfort zone. The Wii U may be a failure but there are an insane amount of creative ideas on it

It was Team Ninja not Tecmo Koei as a whole. Even then they get way too much blame for Other M. Much of the game's shortcomings are pretty much on Sakamoto.

I'd rather play that Tingle game I completely forgot prior to writing this reply.

I think that pic looks pretty nice. Game looked awful in the video, but some of that clearly owes to the stream. Some nice modeling and texturing on the Lizalfos here. I doubt they can really salvage that dodongo and the barren landscape, but we'll see.

Just really hoping Nintendo quality control kicks in here before the game comes out, they don't wanna tarnish the franchise's reputation by attaching it to sub-par pap. I will hold out hope.

I played the One Piece Mousou. It was repetitive and simple but I still had fun because I could pull off awesome stylistic moves with my favorite characters. This looks to be the same. I'm excited.

I don't quite see the point of dungeons and puzzle elements in this game, though. It's not a replacement for a normal Zelda game, it's just a spin-off focusing on large group of monsters. It's better to focus as much on the fighting part as possible to avoid confusion between the main series and the spin-off. This game also has no chance to succeed if it gets compared to Zelda's unbeatable dungeon design -- it needs to be its own thing to have a chance.

Why can't the combat be enough to excite people? I don't care about the dungeon crawling or exploration aspects that are part of the core Zelda experience. I don't care about the core Zelda experience at all. They could replace the Zelda theme with Halo for all I care, Spartans running around slashing Grunts up with plasma swords. It would be dumb as hell, but as long as it played like a Musou title, I would want it.

These games generally sell fairly well in japan.

One Piece Pirate Warriors sold over 1 Million Copies and that game was ass compared to other Musou games
