They know Shenmue III is in high demand....I just don't see why they would do this if they had no plans for the future of the franchise. Something big has to be going down

Get hype people, this is the first bit of genuine exciting news regarding Shenmue in a looooong time. The pieces are all coming together in regards to all the recent Shenmue and Sony news. If this is streamed live may God have mercy on GAF's servers! They’re going to melt. The megaton to end them all is coming!

They're going to announce Shenmue 3 as a megaton at the end. I'm telling you. Him and Cerny are best buds. Adam Boyes said the biggest request they've been getting for new games is Shenmue 3 and Yakuza.

Project Berkley was what Shenmue was referred to before it was known as Shenmue, you can even see graffiti around Dobuita, particularly near Heartbeats Bar, which reads "Berkley". Included in the special editions of the Japanese Virtua Fighter 3TB Dreamcast games was an extra disc, the Project Berkley disc, which included a sneak look at Shenmue.

It included a video of Yu Suzuki talking about his past works and Shenmue, as well as an FMV for Shenmue and videos of artwork, particularly for Shenhua but also extra characters and the busts that were used for the 3D rendering.

Well I'd fund this gladly but AFAIK the 1st Shenmue cost about 70 million $ so it would be a record-breaking KS if it were to be successful

To be honest, if Star Citizen can get as much as it did, this game can.

They actually worked on Shenmue 3 until somewhere in 2003, at least in some form. Imagine if Suzuki could show off some of that footage, be it for Dreamcast of Xbox.

I said that Yakuza and Sleeping Dogs are like ShenMue for now simply because it has elements similar settings same sort of genre as Yu Suzuki's game....

Shenmue City was first conceived when Yu Suzuki noted the popularity of Mafia Wars, a social game designed for mobile phones. Suzuki formed a plan that if the game was a success, its popularity could be leveraged to make a game to conclude the Shenmue series.

I play Shenmue 1 & 2 at least once annually. Love them so much.

and I agree, if anything, we'll get hd versions of the originals. If we are very lucky that is.
