Laura costume is bad not because of its sexyness (that is welcome for every character) but because it's just bad and doesn't fit the character design... "bonita" on the chest and written with comics sans? Baaaaaaaaaad

Mexican and Brazilian webms have fueled my love of the butt for years.
No one, as far as I've seen, is raging about this so no need for chill. It's more bemusement than anything else at Capcom's inconsistency on the topic and a level of discomfort / embarrassment, which whether you feel the same way or not, is not exactly unfathomable.
Also, not using that costume is all well and good until your opponent picks the costume. lol

I get that she had to be semi-nude, but that's no excuse for lingerie + garter belts. Venus was second(after Eliza) on my DLC kickstarter wish list though, love this kind of characters(SG's I-No!) and I just assumed the lingerie would get changed if she ever make it in. :3

I don't know about you but when I go to the beach and there is a girl in a bikini, I don't grab my camera and zoom in to an extreme closeup of her vagina and then slowly pan up to her breasts.

Also somewhat related, street fighter is a fighting game, it's not actually a trip to the beach. They are different things.
Those girls at the beach, they have actual brains in their heads and autonomy... They dress themselves. They can present themselves however they like. Laura from street fighter in the other hand does not have a brain. She does not have autonomous thoughts. She didn't dress herself. She's an animated computer model designed to give teenagers boners and sell video games from inducing hormone release from supernormal stimuli.
Real girls and computer graphic models are actually different things. If you think about it, you're actually being turned on by a Japanese salaryman in an office and what he thinks will induce the most boners in a demographic.

There isn't anything inconsistent about it. The reality is that the butt slap was most likely removed because of potential ESRB changes. ESRB even discussed the process and noted that that there's a pre-review process for a game where they will tell publishers and developers about potential things that could cause the game to receive a more "restrictive rating" (their words) if it's included. That way they have a change to change or stick with things before the final rating is handed down. I don't think it's a coincidence that the changes were only noticed after the ESRB rating was locked in. It's also the reason that they most likely don't include the old victory windows where one fighter is bloodied. That would almost certainly change the rating to M.

Like I said, Venus= some kind of love/sexuality goddess, cause she is a goddess. With the grotesque twist thrown in. Don't think there are many pieces by Ahad or Kinuko on her but she is an antagonist so I am pretty sure they were going to subvert the sexiness with some gross shit coming out of those jaws.

There are actually 2 characters on screen in street fighter. The one you pick, and the one your opponent picks.
This would be relevant if you could block certain costumes online. But I doubt that will be a feature.
Personally I'm going to play this for thousands of hours most likely, like I have with other street fighters, and I'm going to see these and whatever other costumes they release countless times online.

You can block people in the final build of the game. If they do something to offend you, like choose a lewd costume you can block them. Personally im offended by bad internet everyone with terrible connection is getting blocked.

Yeah, it has been really close lately. Which is why I lost all interest I had in this game. I really don't want to support games with borderline pornography in it
Thankfully Killer Instinct exists. Even with a few fanservicey outfits, there is nothing grotesque like this in that game.Unfortunately they are 99,9% of the time. Even "hot Ryu" is really tame compared to the female fanservicey outfits. Urien might be almost naked in SF3 but he is also not really attractive. Give Ryu an outfit where is only wearing a really tight underwear and we will have something close to the female fanservice in most games.
