Some austrian guys stole the top, ain't no getting there anymore, there are other other mountains to climb you know lol.
(Actually the mountain fell on the bathroom floor and broke, silly mountain. Makes you realise how many games straight up block you from playing without shoulder buttons even thogh you never actually need them, stupid as fuck)
Edit: Wait, Pro is the one with the d-pad...yeah I played that lol, fuck that noise. BBP changing things up is confusing >_>

Is it even possible to play the gassou mode without being placed in a random band upon going into the top menu for the first time. Because I accidentally hit that twice and kinda panicked and turned off the 3DS because I didn't want to play and there wasn't an immediately obvious way to quit lol.

Does it have guitar? ;_; lol For tracks with vocals how does internet play work, do you hear the recorded track of the host?

I am the austrian guy, you can have your mountain top back, it sucks.

pro is dpad + abxy
with the new mode it's like mh4. someone opens a room and you hit the big red join button. obviously you won't hear vocaloids from songs you don't own.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it forces you to play a round the first time you hit internet play.

All the different modes of play are intact, so you can play in button mode, guitar mode, and I believe even vocal mode online just fine. You only hear vocals for songs that you personally own and have recorded, though. I'm not sure if you can play the vocal track online for songs you don't own, either.

Oh, and I think I have some time to play now, if anyone's down.

That thing about the vocals sucks but I guess it makes sense.

Thing is I played Merry Christmas MR Lawrence in BBP on Ama and that already has all buttons so I extrapolated DX had that too, popped in DX and alas it's different ;D
I was a Pro in MCML and Touch, nothing else though harr, specialization my friends, the tools of the trade.

Also I'm in full on hay fever mode so I'm not much use to play with for the next 4-5 months lol. But I can screw up a gig here or there ;P

Information is starting to get spread out a bit...Got distracted a bit these days, no time to listen to Yuu either.

So what's going on is these things:

Band Audition

For a new show that will be on the radio, Barbara is recruiting bands. That's what the medley is for.
You take part in the "audition" by playing the song with 5 people through normal friend play.

Parts are:
2 guitars, drums, keyboard, bass

Date 04.04-04.13

Downloading the medley costs 1 tomato as always

Winning band gets...tomatoes?!

I want to import this game, but everytime I import something it gets localized. Hopefully I'm not cursed, and this will get localized either way.

seeing how badly it sold in japan, and also how badly the original sold in europe... I wouldn't bet on it.

Edit: I've decided I need a Daigasso mentor. You all keep talking about things like movies and special downloads and all this crap, and I have no idea what you're all talking about. It would be awesome if someone would take a bit of time to explain to me everything that's actually in this game, because as of now, I pretty much just know how to download songs and play online.

I'd appreciate if someone (like Zornica, maybe?) would PM me.

Edit 2: Okay, I just bought 75 more tomatoes. Can someone please tell me what I should do with them? Besides buying songs, what is there to do? What are movies?

I'm probably not the best tutor around...
basically you can use your tomatoes to buy songs through the shop and you can also do "radio shopping". When you use the radio (the red button on the bottom of the main screen, it says "&#12521;&#12472;&#12458;&#12434;&#12385;&#12419;&#12435;&#12392;&#12365;&#12367;"
there you'll see a broad variety of stations, at the top are the "shopping channels" (they got a golden shopping cart next to them)
you can get movies and new voices there.
if it says "&#29983;&#22768;", its a new vocaloid voice (there should be 2 available, lapis and barbara)
if it says "&#36938;&#12409;&#12427;&#21205;&#30011;", its a playable video

I couldn't resist and downloaded 101 movie. I have the free user upload so there was no need but i love the song and I am really good when playing it, so there was that extra incentive.

WTF.. zelda and fire emblem movie. :)

I m not sure if I'd want to waste 15 tomatoes on a single song... maybe if I get a few free ones.

also, this game needs some kind of marking systems for instruments too - not just for songs. I can never remember which parts sucked - as in nothing to do for the whole time.

Just wanted to say thanks again for the link! I was finally able to knock the last 50 or so slots with a bunch of Beatmania and Pop'n Music tracks as well as some random Dragon Quest tunes. Much appreciated!

Now I just need to get Band Brothers P...

Not that it's super amazing, but it has been sitting as a tab in my browser for like half a year and when I refreshed to look for news I certainly didn't expect that. Haha.
Also they decided on the "company song" from user contributions, so check that out.

Ayasaki Yuu's All Night Suppon is so popular that it will be a weekly show from now on, every thursday at 12pm (jst of course) there'll be a new episode.

There's some sorta new song-contribution shimobe now, but since he's basically an intern, they're not calling him [Nintendo] yet, he distributes under &#65312;&#12381;&#12392;&#12398;&#12375;&#12418;&#12409;&#65312;. Hmm I haven't checked out the new songs in a while, looking at what the new guy distributed we can be friends though, YUI, Olivia wo Kikinagara, Namie Amuro, I already confessed my love for Shunji Iwai etc, YES! YES! YES!.

Girl Rock is all the rage these past years and LiSA has been there for quite a while it seems (Love is Same All). Of course it's decent!
(Since I have no idea about anime, I don't know why she's so popular with the anison crowd ;_;)

Oh, wow. After this (if it goes through) and Tomodachi Life, seems like anything is fair game. I figured this game would be a relatively large endeavor due to all the post-release support they'd need to give it, and didn't think they'd want to take that risk after the performance of Jam with the Band. I know I'd certainly like to see the series get a second chance out West. Would probably double dip for the sake of having an entirely different Western music based song library.

Oh, also, I've been pretty busy for the past week or so and have pretty much used any game time I've had for other games, but come mid next week or so I should be able to play with you guys online again.

Is this becoming a bit like the Wii situation, not that many big profile games to translate in its final years so they bring over the smaller titles that usually wouldn't see the light of day (O. Rainfall)? Yes I'm shaking my fist angrily at this years 3DS release schedule!

Its not like there's a lot to translate in BBP in the first place haha, seems more like a challenge for the artists and programmers. The big hurdle would really be the licensing stuff (I wonder if the western licensing companies are as nice to Nintendo as JASRAC seems to be) and generally concerns about the community.
Maybe the vocaloid stuff can become a selling point after Tomodachi Life; they need to get players to spend on and create content, so they get the money to create more content to reel in more players.
In the end, the more people that can play the better, even if Ninty loses money. What do they say, "better to have played and lost than never to have played"?

Intelligent Systems is really the studio at Nintendo figuring out the IAP market , I wonder what they will do with this knowledge in the future.

I mean, I guess I thought that the licensing and post-release support alone would ward them off of localizing it. Maybe I just really don't want to accept that the 3DS is looking at a 2010/2011 Wii situation already. But I guess that's a different topic entirely.

Still, curious about the potential marketing approach they'd take with the localization or the ways in which the game itself would differ from the Japanese version. I don't know much about Jam with the Band at all aside from the fact that it didn't do well.

So SupponHoso has had a twitter for over a week. Not that I would've noticed because I don't use that newfangled thingamajing. But it's there so bird at them.

Vocaloid
A new Vocaloid, Gackpoid is available. You wouldn't have guessed it from the name but it's based on Gackt. They apparently figured he wouldn't need PR buildup because he's big enough as is. 15 tomatoes as always.

Aoki Lapis
The winners of the Lapis original song contest will be announced at the NicoNico convention taking place 04.26 16pm JST. That should still be tomorrow regardless of timezones...
A video of the event should be uploaded to the Suppon channel later.

Lyrics
The brothers&sisters requested the lyrics of the company song and so Suppon uploaded them, karaoke time.

Offline Meeting
Suppon uploaded a video of the 2nd offline convention to their Youtube channel.

Not exactly sure when it happened, btw, but it seems more games are being added to the Nintendo song list over time. Donkey Kong Country Returns, the Mario & Luigi series, and Ocarina of Time are all on there now.
