Possessioner for PC-98.

A 1994 game called Possessioner by Queensoft for PC98. And yes it's an ero adventure game.

Thank you both. It looks great. The game seems to have a fantastic artstyle. I would probatly just play it for the visuals.

The Amiga Brotherhood
Which were in turn influenced by Hollywood movies :p

This concept art here was originally painted by Syd Mead for the movie Blade Runner:

And of course, Snatchers interpretation of it:

Interpretation? I would call it straight ripoff lol.

Might be cheating (a la Snatcher) but it fits the bill.... Beneath a Steel Sky.

Also for anyone that's into this stuff I recommend checking out Noirlac, all stuff from old obscure Japanese PC games mainly.

These 3 are my favorite from this thread. I blew them up to 2x size because I think they look even better at a larger size.

Cheating but I liked Sonic Advance 3's Route 99 a whole lot:

It had a Rocky Rodent vibe which was an actual 16-bit era game with rad cityscapes:

Wish I could find a larger screen of that night one

Nothing beats the delicious pixelart nostalgia of the 8 and 16 bit days when gaming was an innocent hobby for introverts.

Especially love steets of rage, mega man, mike tyson punch out, and rampage.

Funny thing about Casino Night, I consider it one of my favourite Zone themes in Sonic so I was looking forward to Lost Worlds homage to it, while it looked nice it didn't have anywhere near the same appeal as the real deal and the reason has to be that there was no cityscape, it just ain't right without it.

Holy shit, this is amazing. I just checked out that guy's website, his animation examples are brilliant: http://www.effectgames.com/demos/canvascycle/

Cycling the palette colors to create animations instead of creating different frames is pretty clever.

Just went through every one of these, so good.

I lose my shit every time I see old school SNK backgrounds. Sonic 2's Chemical Plant is one of personal faves.

Although not 16 bit, MM X4's first stage had my all time favorite city background.

X's music for that level is pure, video gamey goodness.

Um, yes it is. Those scenes are used in Magic: The Gathering - Battlemage, an attempt at adapting the card game into some kind of RTS. Unfortunately, 1) it's terrible, and 2) that amazing art has nothing in common with the actual art style during gameplay.

Good to know, actually. Shame it doesn't state this on the page as I would have liked to have known this earlier.
