Sure man. Keep grasping at straws.
Murray is the new Molyneux.
Molydeux, if you will
But that doesn't seem to be there also. He is evading the question here also. He is talking about how rare it is, etc, etc. Should have just said "No".Whatcha say about this?

This is what I expected all along. Seems people got their own hopes up.
You mean you expected a multiplayer like journey and dark souls ?Whatcha say about this?

You're right: I do feel coolNot even close, but at least you got to feel cool by repeating the same silly putdown a dozen other people already made.

The point is that the devs appear to have been deliberately vague and misleading and that's 100% not okay. Sean absolutely deserves to be raked through the coals for this. It's just sad that this entirely self-made controversy has overshadowed the launch of a really amazing achievement in gaming.
Says people shouldn't go into the game expecting a multiplayer game.Whatcha say about this?

It seems telling that nobody has confirmed or denied this since the PS4 launch. To me it now just looks like they're hoping to avoid any controversy before the PC release.

Even Journey level multiplayer would be fine. He said we could see our friends and we can't.Even when he did describe multiplayer, it never sounded like you could meet up with pals and play. I've no dog in the race and I agree he was very ambiguous about it, but as someone who was only mildly excited and didn't let hype cloud my judgement, this always seemed obvious. Journey was always the type of multiplayer I envisioned.
It's really crazy to read posts now where folks thought they were gonna be flying around with their mates.
He's honestly said a lot of iffy shit implying that it wasn't possible in this way. Expectations should have been tempered as soon as he started that bullshit imo.
Exactly, but people are going to parrot that gif around until they're blue in the face.
Except they did that later.
I don't have a horse in this race, but at some point you have to accept that the simplest explanation is probably the true one: there is no MP.
They were in the third and the fourth test.
5 quintillion planets, which if you subdivided among 10 billion players (reality is maybe a few million, so further subdivide that by a magnitude of 1000-10000), would result in what, 500 million planets per player, in a game with no way to easily find each other even if you could see each other, and we're worried about whether there's multiplayer or not?
Honestly, I never intended to play this game with other people based on the math and insane unlikelihood of ever encountering someone. You might as well try to count out Avogadro's number during your life time if that was your intent.
Why would you even spend any development time whatsoever on such a feature if you're already encountering scope creep considering how unlikely of a scenario this is, and considering the procedurally generative nature of the game where no two people would see the same exact thing even if they were in the same location?

NAT type doesn't even matter when we know that the game just doesn't send MP info to servers other than discoveries.

Anyone with a tiny bit of networking knowledge knows that sending stuff like position packet data for a game like NMS is borderline retarded. That's why I don't get how people say "case closed" on reddit. Imagine 5mil people spamming the server with position packets even though they're solar systems/galaxies apart. Doing something like this is a surefire way of being the laughing stock of the industry.
IF THERE IS MP it probably works like this:
- You download discovery data for the current solar system you are in
--> The server gets the data request and flags you as "hey UserXYZ is in solar system xyz, let me check if there's another player in said system"
- Players in the system -> try to spin up a P2P lobby
- No players found -> rinse and repeat whenever you get new discovery data for a solar system (or wait until a player enters your solar system)
So you expected a Journey experience that doesn't exist?
sure bud
He is not talking about NAT, he is talking about them being connected to the No Man's Sky servers, which it said they were when both of them were in the exact same spot standing next to some Heridium and looking at the sea.
we've come this far, man! We have to try when the servers are stable, wouldn't you?
I sincerely hope all you who haven't bought the game yet are holding onto your money until Murray finds his balls and gives us an explanation. People who are pre-ordering and buying game despite this vague nonsense are basically sending the message 'This is OK. Jerking us around like this is OK, Sean Murray.'
Yeah I guess he did expect it! I mean he is obviously furious that he has been "misled" and "lied to".
If only you could see other people this game would be so much better!!
/s.
People really need to stop bitching and have fun playing the game. Its a one of a kind experience I can tell ypu that much.

BUT... since the universe is the same for everyone (don't ask me how that works, I cannot understand it)
Says people shouldn't go into the game expecting a multiplayer game.
Also says you can see and run into other players.
People were hoping there'd be what he said there would be.
Not sure what your deal is lol.

You're right, who cares if you're lied to as long as the game's good!
Oh wait, some of us have standards.

One can enjoy a game and still ask for the developer to be more clear about the features in the game. It's truly strange that a feature talked about multiple times before launch can not be confirmed or denied to be in the actual game after it has launched now.Yeah I guess he did expect it! I mean he is obviously furious that he has been "misled" and "lied to".

He also stated on many occasion you could run into other people.Haha great fucking argument. Stay mad and salty as fuck over NOTHING then.
Sean and Hello Games explicitly said on many occasions : THIS IS NOT A MULTIPLAYER GAME.
I don't own and won't until we have multiplayer.......so, I'll keep bitching until Sean gives us a clear fucking answer instead of beating us around with bullshit.
