Yeah, The Sims 4 earned its spot on the list.
It's not as bad as many Sims fans feared, it's just... bland. It does not feel like a followup to The Sims 3. If a hypothetical game with The Sims 4's features had been released instead of The Sims 3, it would have been hailed as the next great evolution of the series, no doubt there.
But Sims 4 came after Sims 3, and some of the major features of that game are just missing. While EA has gone above expectations and made a lot of the minor missing features available as free updates, it's still disheartening to see the rest of the town just die out, or having your family's children be the only children in town. the so-called Story Progression is sorely missed in The Sims 4. The open world was nice, too, but it's really having the nonplayed families go through life offscreen that's missing so badly.
So yeah, okay game, but disappointing.
