Haven't been excited for a COD reveal in a while, i hope it's well done and then sucessfull so we are done with the futuristic crap.

Has there been anything to indicate this might have multiple perspectives like the first few games had? All the promotional stuff we've seen so far has only shown US soldiers and it says the relationship between the characters is important, i can't see that working if you switch characters at times.

I get you, I totally do. Especially after learning about the german army, their culture, and general psychology. It's fascinating and eye opening. Some of them weren't blatantly villainous, but just outstanding soldiers fighting on the wrong side.

I would love a German campaign highlighting bravery, brotherhood, and honorable soldier acts. Would be so unique and could break new ground in the historical approach.

Would highlight the travesty of war all the more.
That will never fucking happen, especially with Nazi tension rising these days. You are opening up the door for a PR nightmare.

Also if anyone's looking for some new-ish WW2 stuff to watch the 3-part documentary "Five came back" on Netflix is pretty good. It's about 5 great filmmakers and their experience in the war, presented by Spielberg, Coppola, Del Toro, Paul Greengrass and Lawrence Kasdan. It's well produced and a very interesting perspective on the conflict.

Yeah, still got to get around to watching it

Infinite Warfare made me swear off day 1'ing a Call of Duty ever again.. I guess that didn't last long - I'm so hyped ! :(

I can't wait to see with Sledgehammer Games bring to this series. I love a lot of things they did with AW. I just hope skill matchmaking don't come back.. Hype!

Excited for this! The early CoD games set in WW2 were some of my favorite games back in the day, I fell off the franchise a long time ago after MW2. Would be neat if they packed in a remaster of CoD 1 and 2.

Dont see this doing too well (comparatively in CoD terms). The population has been steadily decreasing with each release for the most part and I really dont see all the "kids" who make up the majority of the CoD players getting into dirt and mud and bolt action rifles when they've been used to super fast double jumps and zebra camo skins.

There's probably gonna be zebra and 420 skins for your bolt-action rifles.

I said this in the other thread and while I like the excitement in this thread, i remain skeptical.

In the last three years we have seen 3 futuristic CoDs with one pretty much set in space and the twitch gameplay, on the rails level design, brain dead enemy a.i have all remained the same. The best parts of Infinity warfare were the space ship battles, not the FPS combat. With them finally focusing on 'boots on the ground' gameplay again I am not convinced it will be anything more than 'Oscar Mike Ramirez to the LZ' gameplay.

I would LOVE to be proven wrong. I would love to see a true reboot. BF1 showed that just changing the setting doesnt matter, you have to put time and effort into creating a cohesive level design or you risk being just a brain dead boring shooter.

I dont want them to go full Killzone, but they have to have great enemy A.I to make every encounter challenging and lots of flanking routes instead of pushing you through a small corridor.

Otherwise, it's just going to be a skin change and didnt we already get that with CoD4 remastered last year?

Anyway, exciting times. This might be start of something special. A true next gen reboot designed with next gen ideas in mind. this could be the CoD4 of this gen. i just really hope they dont play it safe.

AW have one of my favorite Call of Duty campaigns. I am really curious about this one.
WWII on that engine could be really awesome. Especially since there is not much games from that era this gen.
Can't wait to see it in action.

This is pretty much exactly how I feel. Except, black ops 3 is my favorite cod since 2

I recommend you books of H. Hellmut Kirst - 08/15, Officer factory in particular. If you haven't read them yet. For me they are among GOAT. Really, really worth reading.

SP or MP?

Black Ops 3 MP is my favorite CoD of all time with Blops 2 being a close second. Blops 2 had awful lag and input lag and BLOPS 3 was probably the most responsive and lag free cod game ever made. The only thing i disliked was the specialist abilities but it kinda balanced the game because the really good players like me couldnt go on streaks all the time.

I played like 2 minutes of SP and never touched it again.
