That's over double the resolution of 720p. Don't expect much in the stand. You're just setting yourself up for disappointment.
We don't know that. There's no reason to expect secret sauce in the stand. Sure, an overclock is likely when not on battery power (since the fan will now be able to run or run at console speeds) but there's no reason to go KINECT SECOND GPU SECRET SAUCE right now.
There doesn't have to be any secret sauce for it to be 1080p
capable. Smash 4 was 1080p on the Wii U. A straight port of that could be rendered at 1080p on Switch regardless of whether or not it's docked.
It seems many people in this thread hear 720p screen and assume the GPU cannot render at anything higher. That is incorrect.
Graphical resolution is NOT a hardware spec/
I dont know what the hell I was thinking hoping Nintendo would finally stop with their always 1 generation behind stuff and at least have a full hd screen. If when docked it has trouble hitting 1080p, will probably skip this Nintendo release for a while.
Seems like they are focusing more on the graduating 3DS gamer than a home console one.
Price would have to be really low for me to get one even for my kids.
PS4 and XB1 have trouble hitting 1080p for some games too. What in the world makes anyone think a Nintendo portable could do what those two could not??
Some 3rd party games do the 900p/60fps thing but this is the outlier.
I really can't believe that we are arguing over whether or not a brand new console released NEXT year is 1080p capable. Only Nintendo...
If Sony or MS comes out with a portable console that can render demanding AAA games (that XB1 and PS4 cannot) at 1080p with more than 3 hours of battery then you might have a point. But that isn't happening.
Also as I pointed out above, the Switch is absolutely a 1080p capable console. I don't understand why people are saying otherwise...
Yea people choose to ignore that rumor because they want to shit post
Indeed. People are ignoring that rumor while accepting the rumor from the same source about no HDD support. When it comes to Nintendo it's apparently best to believe all negative rumors and ignore all positive ones. Yeesh...
