To be honest, I won't be surprised if the PS4 has some issues at launch. But Sony has been pretty vocal about stating which features won't work for launch, while Microsoft has been radio-silent. Their whole approach to this rocky launch makes it that much worse.

Have read the OP twice over, as well as Mortimer's follow up. Seems to not only be broken or unreliable at present, but fundamentally flawed at a foundation level with it's current design implementation. Not something that can't necessarily be fixed, but not necessarily something that would be easy or quick to fix either.

Much more damage control in this thread than the 720p, or any of Microsoft's other blunder threads. Guess they had time to assemble since mort announced it was coming, rather than just dropping it on the forums.

Now this is something I'd love to hear about. Sony's been doing a lot of good since February, but they have a hell of a lot to prove in the software and network capability department. It's really strange how nothing seems to leak from Sony. Could they just have a tighter ship or is there just no bad news to leak?

I don't think the ass storm cboat hinted at was hardware related to be honest

Personally I actually think the XBL and OS issues might be worse than some take away from mort's blog post. Granted that may be reaching but I do feel with what we know now it's going to be more problematic than voice chat not working out of the box

Proelites comments weren't about voice chat after all

When did Shu show some of the PS4 UI? I can't remember the date, he even post a picture on Twitter. I mean, we haven't seen something similar in MS side.

Like multiplayer, which I thought was hilarious to read as something included inside of a patch. Here's hoping it actually functions properly.

They are definitely at least somewhat transparent, more than Microsoft for sure.
