Because almost everything you claim are buying the xbox one platform for (Snap, Xbox live matchmaking etc, Smartglass integration) May be broken at launch and may take months to fix.
Of all the xbox one fans on this forum, id expect this news to give you the most amount of pause as it means that the xbox one will not even close to the all in one multitasking machine you want it to be yet.
If true.
If you want to feel bad the entire gen because something similar is never gonna come out of SE again, sure, go ahead.
Who are you talking about, exactly?I find is amusing that Xbox people project their problems onto the PS4 at every single turn.
Look at it this way, my xbone brethren. Any publicity is good publicity. So come launch day, if things don't work as expected regarding XBL/OS issues then they'll get a ton of publicity!
Win-win situation for MS, I say.
Just wait a week or two. You'll know most, if any, problems by then. All I want is the MP to be working good.. Or else I'm going to have to put myself on hold for the XBO.
Lol at everyone trying their damned hardest to draw positivity from this.
I still have a sealed copy of DQ VIII. Maybe now is the time to open it and play it in the weeks leading up to next gen.
No one is doing that?

Is this "news" because it's worse than what's typically expected?
I think it's pretty obvious/blatant that both next gen consoles will have issues in this area at launch. Just trying to get/understand where the controversy (for lack of a better way to put it) is coming from.
I just can't really believe the system is as bad as described by the enthusiast press reporter. If I'm wrong then I made the wrong choice going with Xbox one over ps4.
If this fiasco led to Microsoft plummeting in sales compared to Sony I think they would pull out of the market. If they did that I think the comparison would be a poor one.
Yes we'd have all the major companies on one platform, but in that era, despite Sony dominance, there existed strong competition fueling Sony's innovation because sega, Nintendo and the soon to be Microsoft insured Sony couldn't rest on its laurels just yet.
If Microsoft goes Sony only has to contend with a struggling Nintendo that has almost relegated itself to niche status releasing gen old hardware.
Well If online is deeply broken presumably multiplayer is gonna suffer no? And it may be difficult to get game updates that fix bugs no?Exactly --"if true". Panicing at this point would be a waste of time if everything gets sorted out at launch.
The main reason I'm getting an Xbox One is due to it having games I'm interested in. Those should work at launch right? Or is there a new rumor that I missed? (haha)
Except the dude I just quoted? Duh?
You know, in a way this is bad news for even us Sony fanboys. Healthy competition is good competition - the further Microsoft pushed the boundaries, the further Sony would, and vica versa. To hear yet another problem regarding the Xbone is definitely a little worrying. How is it now two of the big three have fallen so far out of line with today's core gamer?
I for one am scared of entering a generation with one clearcut winner - part of the reason this gen has had the diversity it has is because of the closeness in competition between the varying companies and the need to try outdo each other. What will happen without this?
Who are you talking about, exactly?
Why are you trying to create equivalence that doesn't exist? The situations are only similar in that they're both launching consoles in the next month. There simply isn't the info backing up major issues around PS4's network at this point.

Give me a couple months to get launch out of the way. GAF is too stupid right now. I'll give you the biggest news you'll likely hear for a good few years then. Please be excited.
55 pages and Chinner makes more sense than all of you.
I'm abandoning my species and joining his.
I thought he was joking, honestly. It comes off very joke-y.Except the dude I just quoted? Duh?

0 chance of them delaying the hardware launch. It would be a death blow to next gen aspirations for MS, worst PR nightmare ever, and stockholders would more likely than not ask for hired hits on whoever is in charge.
Dat 3rd console curse....

So only one console is being rushed? Heh, okay. How can I create equivalence when the equivalence is already (blatantly) there?
Anyway, I expected OS issues at launch on both systems before they were even revealed/announced. That's simply tech these days.
All I did was try to understand why this is more "controversial" than the typical issues at launch. That's all.
But all signs show that they are "messing up" too or else they wouldn't have such a console feature oriented update at launch... right?

Heh, better get that optimism checked out by a professional, I think it's defective.

There are no big issues. Just minor crap that is part of the game.
So what's the enthusiast press saying about this? Lemme guess.... flippin fuck-all?
MS Engineers:
We still don't know if we can resolve these issues before launch. We need more time.
MS Suits:
You WILL get this fixed by launch if we have to tape your eyes open and work you in 36 hour shifts. We are launching on November 22nd, period.
The meddling from upper management is so obvious in this console. They were hell bent on launching with Sony when they clearly were not ready. I think this is going to be a mega PR disaster for them come November.
I expected the XB1 and PS3 OSes to be superior compared to ps3 and 360. MS especially. They make them for a living. Missing/delayed features is one thing, broken is another. Nintendo is in their own stupid little no online multiplayer world. Anyways, with your logic, no one should discuss anything about a console they don't have.
That is so wrong no matter how many times people repeat it. For some musician that just wants attention? Sure the bad attention of them smoking crack might be better than nothing, for a product (and a very well known brand), having bad things said about it? That's never good.
I've never seen a cboat 'megaton' I couldn't have guessed at
like 'xbox games will be lower resolution' (after ryse has been revealed as 900p mind you)
err obvious much? if 900p allows for ryse quality graphics why would they not use it most often? If they have a weaker system they have to make good looking games somehow.
Exactly --"if true". Panicing at this point would be a waste of time if everything gets sorted out at launch.

Yes, it's very unfortunate that the Xbone was designed by 15 different departments that each wanted a piece of the profits. In my dreams, J Allard returns, fires everyone responsible for this ass storm, and writes an apology letter to the fans.
It was also a joke
