Hopefully Jon Snow comes back to life and is vengeful as fuck. I want Ollie's head on a pike.

Jon is too much of a nice guy to even do that, or let the Wildlings do it.
Unless his resurrection somehow changes him a lot.

That's kind of what I'm hoping. Being betrayed and killed is probably a good way to get over being mr. nice guy.

My opinion of the fifth season completely changed second time round: the first time I thought they spent way too long moving characters around, which didn't feel particularly satisfying. Second time round though, I actually really appreciated that and perhaps it reflected that many of the 'factions' are in a state of flux.

I don't care if Ollie dies. If/When Jon comes back, all I really need is him to just beat the shit out of Thorne. Scream at him and make him kneel to the commander before kneeing him in the face and walking off like a pimp.

I'm hoping for a mic drop equivalent as he leaves Castle Black to make his mark on the wider world.

I watched the Hardhome scenes once more over lunch. Masterful piece of television. I wonder how many of the red shirt brothers survived, as outside of Dolorous Ed and Jon it isn't very clear, outside of any boat rowers.

I also watched a season three clip between Arya and Milessendrei, where she says that they will meet again. Given the show's consistency in such foretellings and foreshadowings, I'm looking forward to it.

Of all the things in the show, that was the hardest thing to watch. Not the Red Wedding. That scene. It might be the only time a movie or show has made me feel physically sick to my stomach. Poor Robb & Grey Wind. Horrific is right.

I would like to know if they stitched Rob's head on the wolf's body

So is Gendry still rowing or what?

Technically he has the potential to become Robert's heir to the Iron Throne, but as a bastard he has to be legitimized by a king and Tommen is a bastard born of incest and would never help legitimize a competing rightful heir anyway and Dany still has a claim to the throne but she also would never legitimize a rival and the bastard spawn of Robert the Ursurper, so the only one who might have was Stannis but he tried to kill him until Davos freed him, but Gendry still has King's blood that Melly wants so I feel he's still important somehow.

I mean, besides the Kingsblood he has, he must be somewhat important since Davos wouldn't have risked his neck and saved him from Stannis for nothing, and since the writers probably didn't have Gendry spared and escape in vain, I have a feeling he is important and must serve a purpose since there was a reason they didn't kill him off and actually showed him escape, so a great surprise would be if we actually saw him again this season, maybe he runs into Blind Arya at the House of Black and White with the Faceless men, or maybe he's still at Westeros somewhere.

Purely speculation on my part that I'm pulling out of my ass since I have no reason to believe this but kind of want it, but what if Gendry went back to King's landing and the High Sparrow wants to use him in a coup to replace Tommen since he's a bastard but Gendry actually has a legitimate claim to the throne, that could be a hidden move or the trump card the Sparrows have up their sleeve. Or maybe it's Trump himself

Im confused about something regarding my XFinity subscription. Contemplating subbing to HBO for GoT again. I have a basic economy package. I tried signing into HBO Go to see what would happen and it gives me a message saying 'Hey, great news you already have HBO as part of your subscription' and then it redirects me to some HBO xfinity on-demand system. Im confused because i dont have HBO i dont think and also it seems like i cant access HBO Go.

any thoughts?

This is a free preview weekend for HBO, so that might have something to do with it.

Just watched season 01 episode 01. I love epic/high fantasy, but the nudity, blowjobs, and sex really take me out of it. The violence also seems gratuitous. Too on-the-nose and feels absolutely needless. Assuming the rest of the show is as blatantly about tits, ass, and guts? Are the books as graphic?

This probably isn't the place for you. There be spoilers abound and talking about the books at all is not kosher.

But I suggest you watch a few more then make a decision. And don't come back until you finish the whole thing if you do.

Don't forget Arya. Watched her father executed and then her brother murdered and paraded around like that.

Not too concerned about reading spoilers. I'm on episode 2 now and it's better but still feel the sex and gore are overdone. Hrm.

Finally rewatching season 5. Gotta get through it by Sunday night. Shouldn't have put it off so close.

Not every episode has sex. But most have some kind of violence. It's just how these shows are. There's still some good story in there.

Season 4 is GOAT.

I'm fine with violence if it serves a purpose. It's also how it's shot and shown. I'll keep watching because I do love me some Sean Bean and epic music.

I agree with you and this is a problem that plagues many series. Wish they took all that shit away, it feels like they are catering to teens who want to see boobs every 10min. Many series I enjoyed the characters and story but were ruinned by useless constant sex. One of the biggest offenders was Rome, they actually changed history in order to make every character a perv. They also knew in season 2 that it would be the last and were cutting corners to tell as much of a story as they could but somehow they had even more sex. Truly a shame where modern series are going.

The latest series of Daredevil is actually making me wince more from violence than Thrones has done, outside of Theon getting tortured. Probably because of all the close range gunshots. But no one ever says fuck and there are no boobs.

I think the amount of sex people say this show has is a bit overblown. I have three friends who don't watch the show and always talk down on it as if it's a porno whenever I try to recommend it to other people but unless I'm numb to it there's been barely any sex the last few seasons. I mean yeah, people are going to fuck, and we're going to see boobies and butts but enough for it to be any more distracting than any other R rated type thing? I don't know. I don't see it. Yeah it can kind of smack you across the face in the first season a few times but I don't think it's as rampant as a lot of people I talk to like to accuse it of.

The sex was mostly in the earlier seasons, and yeah, some of it seem pretty silly in a 'we are HBO so we can do it' kind of way.

pretty much but facts are hard for some. meh. they don't matter anyways as they are a minority.

UK GAF: Sky Atlantic are showing season 6 episode 1 at 2am Monday morning (simultaneously with the US I'm assuming?). I've set mine to record, gonna watch it before work on Monday.

And they are doing a recast of season 5 right now. Episode 8 is on in like 1 hour.

just finished rewatching S4 Ep3 man I wish the wildlings killed Ollie
You're just a couple of episodes ahead of me in my rewatch. It's hard to blame Ollie for hating the wildlings after what he's seen. I can't imagine them coexisting peacefully in the North. Maybe once winter comes everyone will be too busy just trying to survive to slaughter each other.

My body is ready
And the snow is high.
Winter is coming
And so am I.

As a book reader since the series began, I am legit excited to feel what those who have not read the books but follow the show have felt the whole time. Looking forward to just WTFing all over the place. Kind of glad the show has overtaken the books. PUMPED!

Guys, you're not supposed to talk about pirated materials or leaked episodes.

I know I'm not supposed to be in this thread, but I thought I would give you a heads up.

I just can't rewatch season 5. The Sand Snake arc was so cringey to me. But hey, it gave us the best boobs in westeros.

That arc is about 40 minutes. And I think the eventual result of Ellaria getting revenge on the Lannisters by murdering Myrcella worked well and sets up interesting conflict between her and Cersei + Jamie, and the Prince of Dorne.

Seems 3 eps are leaked actually. Time to hide for the next 3 weeks. Sigh, first it was book readers, now it's leaked again. Can't believe how they fuck up so hard.
