The Colbert Report, probably the entrance into mainstream media in general. My interpretation is this. It's become obvious that, no matter what lies they use to hide their intentions, no one will look at this movement as a good thing. So a lot of the members are scampering off until some new, cool hate movement appears that they can get behind without harming their reputation.

Having said that, it's still conducting e-mail campaigns and such right now. "Death" isn't quite the word for what's going on.

A little bit earlier, when NYTimes caught wind of it. The only ones left to defend would be... Fox News? But I guess this would be too embarassing, even for them.

I've only listen to 2 minutes and it makes his last post about the history of GG seem rational by comparison. He argued that if people in GamerGate don't know the Zoe Quinn connection, then it can't be about harassment. He said that the it couldn't be about Quinn since there was misinformation spread at the beginning due to the mass censorship about the subject at the time.

Yeah. That was why there was misinformation spread to suggest that a writer accepted sex for a review he never wrote and all of the hate went to the dev instead of the writer.

I was gonna send it to twitter people and maybe chuck it on GamerGhazi but I'd appreciate any comments or feedback before I do so.

I tried to get sourced stuff for direct claims but couldn't get much referring to more general happenings so if anyone has any kind of source on hand for whatever reason that fits a hole in there that'd be cool too.

This really honestly is the single most complete and reasonable Pro-GG account of the situation I've ever seen and considering I had well over twice the original post's length in corrections by the end that really should tell you something.

I've said it before but GamerGate's bullshit is really hard to debunk all at once, because nobody ever gives it to you all at once. As soon as you think you have a good answer for everything people remind you that they thought (still think?) that Phil Fish is going to be arrested for racketeering.

So in that way TB's post isn't a complete picture. But it does seem to contain most if not all of the sanest claims to legitimacy, while avoiding the obvious nuttery, whose proponents will never be convinced anyway.

So yeah. Comments, feedback, corrections. Anything. I'll probably finalise it and send it out tonight while I'm bored at work.

That was amazing. Anyone thinking of accepting his invitation "to the table" should read this and not accept. You cannot discuss anything, let alone ethics, with someone only seeking to further their exposure and not planning to solve anything.
If he claims the group is not represented/led, has no goals then meet with their representative/leadership and discuss their goals - as in do nothing.

A final word. I'll do some disclosure on your behalf. In your video you relied on guest Ashley Burch for much of the opinion on Gamergate. It should be noted that Ms Burch is a friend of Zoe Quinn and will play a role in an FMV game she is developing called "Camps not Dead". Source for this can be found here

I would suggest as a result that Ms Burch has an inherent bias when it comes to defending a friend and person she now works for. This should be disclosed and her opinions on the subject taken with that context in mind.

The push of publishers to fluff their games has been a huge irritant for TB since he started doing that sort of content. He's likely very excited to have others being interested in that topic and that might be blinding him to the extremely negative aspects.
