Winter 2016 is effectively early 2017 in Japan, which means localisation at earliest will be 2017.

Yep, you're right. We'll probably only get the remaster next year.

Dragon Quest VIII will be got if I like VII and not 100% on Star Ocean V (as never played one but feel this one would be a good start)

The only one of those I can see missing 2016 is Nier 2, unless it gets a WW release.

Shit.

I didn't realize how packed 2016 is, even though I expect some games on that list to miss 2016 (Nier 2 in particular). And then there are still possible releases like Trails of Cold Steel (1/2 - depending on whether the first one will still make it this year), Ys 8 or Tokyo Xanadu. Zero Escape 3 will need a lot of my time as well... I also wanted to play Xanadu Next, whenever it hits Steam. Oh... and there's still Fire Emblem.

I'll either need more time or I've got to cut some games off of the list. Huh.

Yeah, looking at this list it seems like 2016 is going to be fairly insane for us RPG fans. Heck, 2015 has proven to be very good to the point that I have more to play that I have time for.

That being said, bring them all on! I will stock up and play them one by one while enjoying every minute. It's a good time to be an RPG fan, and that is not a statement that I thought I would be saying just a couple of years back.

The first Nier got a worldwide release and Automata has so far been shown off at western events (E3, Paris Games Week) so I see no reason to doubt it'll be worldwide as well.
