never understood the fervor behind him. he's like the political Red Shirt Guy, except Red Shirt Guy was knowledgeable in his field.

Pretty much this, i don't understand this guy. So he's undecided, supposedly, cause of the single issue of the Energy industry. Trump's answer is about the "magical clean coal" that will fix everything.

How does someone who work on that field listen to that load of crap (because it doesn't exist and no US coal plants are prepared for any technology concerning the theory) and is still having doubts?

If I worked in the coal industry and one candidate said fuck coal and the other said I'm bring back coal jobs, it's a pretty easy decision if I'm a single issue voter.

Does ken bone actually live in St. Louis or was he flown in? I'd like to buy him a beer and discuss the finer points of celebrity but holes.

Exactly how does one make a comment on a pornographic subreddit and not come off as seedy? I'm sure the detractors are archaic and chevalier when horny.

The Trayvon Martin killing: reading his actual comment, it sounds like he disagrees with what happened but concedes that the law allowed for a vile human being to walk away.

The insurance thing. I can't defend this - I don't really care - but I do wonder why these articles are glossing over it in favour of far more inciting and sexy news to rile people up over. Could it be they just want clicks? Oh, the more things change...

If I look on the other end of things from his AMA and the other past comments, I'm still okay with Ken Bone. He seems like a decent person even if I don't agree with him on everything. But hey, random-internet-bottom-feeder, you get to make some snarky comments to make yourself feel big by bringing someone else down, doesn't matter if the abuse he's about to get turns him away from the left, right? I mean, you got yours, who cares about the election?

Ken Bone is alright in my books.

Yeah, this guy is alright. Tons of actual public figures could take a PR lesson from a solid response like this. He's a normal dude. This is the worst of the Internet and clickbait media culture.

Never understood what was so captivating a out this guy in the first place.
I don't get the meme or joke either. He's a chubby guy with a red sweater and a mustache. He has a disposable camera. His last name is Bone? What the hell is funny about it? Just leave the guy alone.

Yeah, while there'll be people put off by his comments this is fairly tame shit. He thinks George Zimmerman is an asshole, but was justified in shooting the person that was attacking him at the time. Snap, what a rare opinion to hold.

He looked at leaked photos of one of the highest paid and glamorized female actors today. Tut tut, Mr. Bone: I can assure you most people averted their eyes.

AND he's possibly into a type of legal pornography involving women? Who is this monster?!

Him being used as a meme was played out almost immediately after he became a meme. I won't be upset if this leads to me to see less of him popping up on Instagram, but my opinion of him as a person hasn't changed. It was ballsy of him to use his normal Reddit account though.

Yup, I'm not sure why we expect fame to suddenly make people perfect and squeaky clean. If this is the worst shit that he's done in life then he's probably a better than average dude.

Lives in St. Louis. He's a huge Cardinals fan and his Reddit name, StanGibson18, is for 3 Cardinal greats, Stan Musial, Bob Gibson, and Mike Shannon (who wore 18).

Man, we love building up random people just to tear them down later.

This guy had no reason to be as big as he was. He's just some dude in a dumb sweater with a funny name, and then people act all indignant when they find out he was just some dude in a dumb sweater with a funny name all along.

Reminds me of that Ted Williams guy in a way.

I thought the joke about Lawrence was funny, tbh.

He just seems like a regular dude, with regular thoughts - not all of them good, but none of them particularly egregious nor worthy of scorn. Apology was pretty classy.

Ken Bone's aight in my book. It's unclear to me why the internet goes out of its way to find reasons to dislike people.

I'm sure some people criticizing the guy had uglier skeletons on their internet post history. Look at the guy, who would he harm? You go Ken bones, please go live a better life.

I think pretty much every single veteran gaffer would probably fail the same test that Ken Bone did, just based on GAF post histories. People post so much on the internet these days that eventually they're going to post something that's less than morally correct.

Shit's going to get crazy when millennials start running for president.

Presidents 30 years from now will release their post history in the internet instead of tax returns.

KBone angling for that JLaw meeting. Smart play.

Seems like an alright dude, and him owning up to it is hard to dislike. He also seems consistently level-headed in his responses, not like he's backtracking. This "upset" or whatever is a whole lot of nothing.

I think it's a pretty smart move to say you're undecided when becoming semi-famous like mr Bone. The amount of hateful shit he'd have to endure if he had endorsed any of the candidates wouldn't be something I would be comfortable with.

Its funny how Gizmodo and a few other sites joked about his posts about his vasectomy being TMI and how nobody needed to know that, even though they are the ones that dug though his history to find it.

I'm glad he apologized and clarfied some of his comments. Hopefully those sites will report on that too.

I absolutely agree. He's not a CEO or a high-level exec at an important company, he isn't running for any kind of leadership position. He's not part of a hate group or harassing anyone. He's just a person. One who happened to ask a question at a debate that the internet fell in love with and in any other election probably would have been ignored. He never asked for this level of attention or celebrity and the fact that Gawker is being Gawker about it justifies their bankruptcy to me 100%. This kind of harassment is wrong.
