Jesus Konami, chill the fuck out !!
Welp
So, any updates on this Konami YouTube saga?
Still insane, spiteful AND incompetent I'm assuming?
For fucks sake Konami, stop being assholes. Oh who am I kidding, this isn't ending anytime soon.
Also, I created an acronym for Konami:
Kooky
Old
Nihilistic
Assholes
Mocking
Intellectuals.
You seem to really dislike Konami. I wonder wh...

Yes, there's an acronym within the acronym, but who cares.
Whelp, this has certainly turned me off of Pachinko for life.
But I guess it's sort of like the JP equivalent of slot machines in Western gambling, the whole thing seems so joyless and robotic but people do sit for hours and push the button over and over again hoping for something to happen.
Pachinko looks like the most awful thing ever in videos I've seen of it. Sammy already beat me to it with their cynical mishandling of Sega.Whelp, this has certainly turned me off of Pachinko for life.
Yeah, you could say I have a bone to pick with them.
Don't worry, I'm sure they'll eventually revive the franchisewith a Bomberman slot machine.

What is with their scorched earth approach? Is it a Japanese culture thing? Do they really believe that there is enough overlap in gambling and gaming to make contra worth more money for them as a slot machine theme than as an asset to be sold to another gaming company?
As far as mobile is concerned;I can see square moving existing properties to mobile as they have proven appeal to younger players. Does Metal Gear? Does Silent Hill? Two games series that have survived off of atmosphere and spectacle that really has yet to be emulated in mobile?
It makes sense to hold on to the rhythm game properties but why are they not selling the rest?
Just think a year ago most of us were ignorant of what a truly terrible company Konami was. MGSV and then I am never buying another Konami game again, even if we get Revengeance 2.

so just checked, even deleting P.T. does not remove its license from your system. If you downloaded P.T. ever at any point, then

You will be unable to renew licenses of your digital games. For someone like me who owns mostly digital, this means that I cannot play

I cannot play any of my games. Konami is holding all of my games hostage. For the crime of having downloaded P.T.

Them pulling it from the store fucked everything up in ways you cannot imagine. Driveclub players had the same issue back when it was pulled
Nick Cramer @Pacifist_Elk · 21 hours ago
but driveclub pull was temp. Problems for people ceased when driveclub finally returned. For those who downloaded P.T., you might be

saying goodbye to your entire digital library forever.

If this is true then... HOLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYY SHIT
Someone should start a new thread on this. How's that all-digital future coming along, y'all?

Can someone give me a basic rundown on this, cause I'm confused on what exactly happened.

I think it means that if you ever need to renew your licenses (I've had to do this before), it will fail and you won't be able to play any games.
2 things:
First, considering all of the terrible bullshit they're already pulling with that game in and of itself, why buy MGSV before cutting them off?
Second, the only reason people were ignorant of what was happening is because they wanted to be. Konami has been easily identified as the closest equivalent to EA in terms of out-of-touch scumbags and assholes for years now, as far back as the Hudson Soft purchase.

Does Konami not have an in-house PR guy? If he's sanctioning all this he should be fired for being a moron, and if the (supposedly) manic CEO is going over his head he should surely quit in protest to distance his career from this fiasco.
I would skip MGSV, but I'd be lying if I said I will. Might as well see what Hideo Kojima's last hurrah in MGS will be like.
I just never paid much attention to videogame news until I joined up here last year, so all this Konami stuff is really new and crazy to me.

So any chance they try to double (triple, quadruple...?) down on this whole Kojima business and the backlash the fans and gaming community in general are having and just eat the cost of straight up not releasing MGSV at this point? I mean, so far they have been willing to do some petty things (stop PT from existing, removing then readding Kojima's name to years old released games, etc.), so is it so outlandish to ask if this could realistically happen?
Metal Gear Solid V will probably have me in tears at the end and not in a good way.Well, at least you're honest that you want one last sip of that Kojima MGS. Though with all of this, it might not leave a good taste in your mouth.
