Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of The Patriots 2.0 |OT| Kept you waiting, huh?

I ran through the game on easy trying my hardest not to be scene. It was a sad massacre. The one thing I REALLY forgot how to do is deal with the bosses with kiling them. The tranq gun isn't cutting it and I don't know how else to stop them.

All these things should be in the manual, so the people that actually read them (me) could be better at the game!

BTW, remember that MGS4 had a PROPER MANUAL. ~60 pages, in color, with comics, artworks and everything. A rare thing this gen.

Or not. This may be me, because I haven't bought that many games in the last two years

Pretty rare, but some JP developed games have been surprising. Nintendo still makes good manuals.

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
I don't know if something changed during the patch but re-entering the red zone in act 1 does not re spawn the enemy at the top of the stairs.

Even further it doesn't respawn ANYONE you knockout/killed before Mk. 2.

Have you gone further and gotten the Mk. 2 and came back? Maybe they respawn then...

Shit, I think I killed all the PMC dudes since they didn't have anything and held them all up to where they didn't have any more items. Am I fucked in that militia versus PMC area in Act 1, The One Who Knocks?

I still need to get a few more hold-ups and frisking their balls out of the way. :(
Sorry for the late reply. No, not particularly. Leave and exit the area if you can and see if they reset. Also, in addition to that I suggest avoid "frisking their balls" when you can as that will knock them out immediately. Instead it's easier to miss the button prompt so you can then choke them to death as opposed to having to wake them up and then choke them. I know you've probably moved on by now so I apologise. Just do it in Downtown instead and if you're in Act 2 then I'm sure you can probably do it in some area there (the Confinement Facility probably).

EDIT: TheSeks, thanks for that. I'll add that in now.

After I got the Mk. 2 the door to the previous area closes so I have no choice but to proceed to the militia safe house, but even if I enter and exit the safe house nothing re spawns even though the guide states otherwise.

Wait a minute, can anybody confirm this (not that the door closes)? I had originally gotten this information from two different guides that suggested doing this. If this is the case I recommend dying and continuing to overcome this. HOPEFULLY (and I really, really hope this is the case) Blue Bird will unlock even though the items were given after deaths.

Well, shit. Maybe that's something the patch changed: No more respawning PMC in that area?

Do you get tranq gun on more difficult settings? I only played it on easy too.

I forgot how good the eggs looked in this game
lol

Also, I'm glad I'm playing this again. This time there won't be installs between acts, I have my Sony 7.1 headset, trophies and the dualshock 3.

Ok, I have amended the guide now. If the enemies are not respawning in the Red Zone upon exitting and entering it, die. Then continue and the enemies will respawn. If the enemies do not respawn you can then try it in Downtown. If for some reason the enemies don't respawn in Downtown then Crescent Meridian features respawning enemies (at least until the barrier is broken, after that the enemies may stop spawning).

EDIT: Turkish, yes, you get the Tranquiliser on all difficulties.

Just a quick question for The One Who... For the first run via your guie which difficulty do you recommend? Does it matter? I didn't see anything about it in the guide but I may have missed it.

Easy difficulty for the Chicken run because it allows you to a large amount of items. But be aware that the guide is still a work in progress (see a few posts above yours). At the 8th I'll have access to the game and most details should be confirmed by the 10th at the latest. If you want though you can do Tarantula with Assassin on any difficulty for your first run which may be more convenient and is easier to obtain on a first playthrough.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
Naomi has the best female character model of the generation. Believe.
Naomi is incredibly detailed, but Elena in UC3...

bish gets all the credit :)
So who will be the first to platinum?

I'm not even going to attempt it. The MGS games are some of my faves, but the trophies are so grindy that they'll ruin my feelings for the games.

Thank you very much for the depth of the guide, appreciate it. I was putting off playing through this again, especially after hearing of the patch.

Easy mode it is.

Wait, are we talking about the technical aspects of the female models or just how sexy they are?

Now that I have an onkyo 5.1 surround sound set up I can play through this again. I've heard this has amazing sound design. Dled and installed the patch and installed the game before work too. It's ready when I get home tonight. I'm excited lol.

Man, they should have hired Western mo-cap actors. Naomi would never move like this. So out of character and awkward.

Downloading the patch.

Ok, now, I have original MGS on PSN, MGS Collection and MGS4 - all on PS3. So, all the main games in the series.

I've yet to play Peacewalker. I finish all other games more than once, but I want to start all of them again. The question is - in which order?

Story wise, I should start with MGS3, otherwise with original Metal Gear Solid.

Or should I start with Peacewalker? Help, i'm in MGS nirvana right now...

God damn the first act is still so good...everything about the asthetics and mechanics screams "awesome". If it weren't for the wonky story telling and too many cutscenes and over explaining everything...

In order of release is the correct way to play them imo.

MGS1>MGS2>MGS3>MGS4>Peace Walker

I'll give it a download when I turn the PS3 on.

I don't even remember how to get the damn dolls.

I am picturing some smelly unshaven dude in japan not leaving his house for a week and ordering junk food off of amazon.

I can't get the porn mag achievement to come up, they'll stop and look at it, and get the little hearts above their heads, but that's all.
