wtf? At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if MS starts publishing first parties across various platforms.
I mean they are already doing this with Minecraft.

The days of choosing something because of friends and family are coming to an end, aren't they?Yay. The expectation is now set for future consoles as well - this should be the norm going forward.
I edited this into an earlier post, but let me put it here.
Sony have a platform advantage in terms of being the more popular platform, ergo "I'll buy it on PS4 because my friends are there" will happen more often than "I'll buy it on Xbox One because my friends are there".
Unifying the online play has an equal marketing advantage for Sony and Microsoft, but a greater platform disadvantage for Sony as they'll likely lose more "I'll get it on [Platform here] because my friends are there" than Microsoft will.
Dq 10 when it releases on ps4. Microsoft had the policy no one else but we aren't about to do this im here this is good news for everyone
I think you missed it, you can totally play against people who are on PC on PS4, but you can't join a party with them.
Today marks the day that MS invented Cross-network play. Let it be known.
All hail our glorious leader.
Dragon quest is massive in Japan. It's only niche In the westYeah DQ10 is really the first significant one but even that is niche. When we see a game like CoD, that will really be something.
Wrong thread? We are talking about XBL opening up for cross network play
ps3ud0 8)
As does Street Fighter V and I think (IIRC) games like DC Universe Online supported it as well (which were Sony studios back then)

I don't even know this Microsoft anymore
Wait, do you think the "I'll buy it on PS4 because my friends are there" mindset is about cross-plattform play?
They're not informed and somehow this awesome news has clouded their memory.
Sony already allow cross-play lolAgain, read the actual text. MS is allowing it and CALLING FOR SONY TO AGREE to playing with Live. That's what the Sony posts are about, because right now, it's only going to be PC/ Xbox until Sony agree to it.
They are allowing the option, but Sony has to agree first.

How can they ask for W10 if Rocket League is not an exclusive W10S game?
Microsoft is the one who will win on this matter while Sony will lose a vital reason for people to buy its consoles if they agree on this.
I'm not saying that I'm against it. Of course it will be wonderful news for everyone but let's not forget that in this generation Sony is the one selling way more consoles than Microsoft, therefore, the majority of future customers will probably choose the PS4 over the Xbox One because their friends will already have PS4s so they will probably want to play with them and that will increase the rate by which Sony dominates this generation of consoles.
If Sony agrees to Xbox-PSN cross network services, they will lose that and to be realistic, from a business standpoint, there is no reason whatsoever for them to allow that to happen. They may still do it to make people happy and build up even more goodwill but their financials will definitely take a hit from it if they decide to go for it.
Straight out of apples playbook. It wasn't invented until they did it.
Bring on FFXIV!!!

I think this is a huge plus for PC gamers, because people who like CoD, Titanfall, BF, etc... on PC don't have as big of a population as the console peeps.
I applaud this. I hope developers jump on board.
But I do wonder how KB/M vs. controller is going to work out... unless they force your to use a controller on the PC? Hope not.
Bring on FFXIV!!!
